Mike Nolan has to go. George Edwards?

idc there is not one single reason to keep mike nolan as dc one more day. what is the worst thing that happens if u promote george edwards? the defense cant get any worse. is george edwards a good dc? i do not pay attention to the vikings but at least he can put some success on his resume.

it is just a dream but if edwards or some one could get this defense to even below average the cowboys could still do some thing.

Can George Edwards play DT? if not he wont do any better. In Minnesota the past 3-4 years look at their DT's then look at ours.

Defense played its best game of the season today... 14 points came directly off turnovers. They aren’t world beaters by any stretch of the imagination— but I don’t think you fire anyone after your QB gets hurt and is out for the year, and the whole team responds by gutting out a win to take first place in the NFCE

Sends the wrong message lol

Our O gave up 14.

Honestly, maybe not immediately, but the defense looked ok after Prescott went down.

Funny stuff and who knows if that will stick....or if it's just NY being awful...but they played respectably at the end of the game today.

That all said, cant say I'm all sold on Nolan as I once was....but...

The defense has played better in the 2nd half of every game. I don't know if that's Nolan making adjustments or what. The only problem is that they put themselves in big holes in the 1st half and the offense's turnovers make things worse too.

1st half point allowed / 2nd half points allowed (not factoring in offensive turnovers that led to points):
LA: 13 / 7
Atlanta: 29 / 10
Seattle: 23 / 15
Cleveland: 31 / 18
NYG: 20 / 14

Nolan reminds me of an OC that we refused to let go of a few years back????:huh:
I cant think of his name at this moment but As long as he is our DC this team will not go anywhere. Were in a bad division other wise it could be worse.
Nolan has to be the worse DC I have ever seen!
Im not sure getting LVE Lee Chido and Brown back will help us or not.:oops::oops::oops:

total agreement bewp7----- also this new 2-gap system is not working at all...lets go back to what we were using last 6 years...we had some decent defenses.....we are so pathetic on defense...Giants averaged 11 points a game and scored 34 on us...that is 3 times their average....our defense is now averagiing 35 a game through 5 games...worst of all time...i cannot discuss it anymore it makes me so upset

I saw one shot of Nolan on the sideline when the players were coming off and he was slapping and congratulating guys, and nobody even looked at him. It reminded me of how everyone ignored Garrett last season when he tried to fire guys up. The players, regardless of talent or lack thereof, don't appear to be buying what he's selling.

your stats show me our D coaching does not have team prepared for game and obviously makes adjustments for second half....Nolan has to go in my opinion...go back to one gap its much easier to just react that is why Marinelli

loved it...less thinking more reacting...we have to help our lackluster players to play better..just my novice opinion

Nolan did a much better job. Not helped by the offense in the first half. Let's give the guy some credit, he's not working with much

I’m usually not an advocate for mid-season coaching changes, but we are approaching that territory for defensive coordinator.

Coming into the season I realistically expected the D to be mediocre to start with potential to improve throughout, ending up average/middle of the road.

But after 5 games we are objectively HORRIBLE.
Absolutely atrocious.
The only things this defense does consistently is give up yards and give up points.

We do not regularly force punts or takeaways.
We don’t have “ball hawk” type plays. We don’t get many “explosive” or game changing type plays. We give up points at the end of the 1st half pretty much every game I think.

This board largely despised Marinelli and K Richard by the end of their tenure.....but these new guys are somehow worse. I don’t think many people expected that.
