Well, that's for a different discussion. Hate the player. Hate the trade. Hate the new contract.

But it has nothing to do with his snaps or performance. He's producing. If he wasnt, then I'd see the angst. But alot of this is fussing to be fussing.

Y'all gone nitpick him to death. Lol

He got paid. That's what it's about. He and his agent were smart. Get the contract done before the draft because you never know what can happen. And it did happen but he was covered.

These receivers have ran nearly a half a seasons worth of routes in 5 games. It is a good idea to rotate them especially in games where we have to pass so much.

So far, it seems to be working...our passing game has been our strength thus far.

Non story, fact is the Cowboys have 10 NFL capable pass catchers in the following order:

  • Cooper|Gallup|Lamb (1a, 1b, 1c)
  • Schultz|Zeke (2a, 2c)
  • Wilson
  • Pollard
  • Bell
  • Brown
  • Prescott*

*Injured :(

He's had a solid start to the season, but his production always dips on the road. I need to see him do it @WAS, @PHI, @BAL. And then show up if we make the playoffs.
It's fair to want to see more through the season. But I would manage my expectations due to the QB change. We dont know how things are gonna play out the rest of the way.

And that's it. People on Twitter were complaining Gallup wasnt getting any targets yesterday. When you have that many.options, somebody is gonna be left out.

Yes, it is a bad contract in hindsight. Unfortunately, it was 'market value' at the time. Cowboys had no idea Lamb would be there on draft day. At least the Cowboys made the right call drafting Lamb.

I have no problem with Cooper though. Good person and he practices and plays hard. Yah, he is injured a little too much but WRs are high maintenance a lot and they take some big hits.

It is not a bad contract.

People just see the end numbers and conclude it’s a bad contract. In fact, it’s the opposite. It’s a pretty team friendly deal.

I can see doing that with wilson,brown..etc..but we're talking about the #1 receiver and unless he truly is hurt,he needs to be out there.. everyone says we need him cause he goes against the best cbs and opens everything else up for the rest..but if his snaps are trending down and the rest of the receivers are still making the plays needed to win, what purpose does he really serve? Other then an overpriced decoy.

To further reiterate my previous post...

Amari is on pace to play 1,002 team snaps this season. That will be a career high. Also keep in mind, we have attempted an insane amount of passes which would obviously tire a wide receiver more than a run up the middle or to the opposite side.

Despite being active 16 games last season, he logged 845 snaps.

Again, his snap counts are down because they are using more WRs. Lamb’s are down as well.

This is such a non-story.

Yep, even Bell. I never understood why the Cowboys wouldn't use Hanna more. Not a ton or as a consistent receiver, but like Bell he could catch passes, and because opponents overlooked him he could have been valuable for strategic use to get a key first down or to make up yardage after a loss. I like that the current Cowboys see value in that.

That's true but I expect him to still do his thing. AJ Green had seven straight seasons of 1k+ yards with Andy Dalton. If the oline holds up, he should do ok. Honestly, I think Amari's biggest impediment is himself. There is an intangible missing that the goats like Irvin had and I believe Lamb has as well.

Actually,I noticed both Amare and CeeDee were on the sideline in the 1st quarter. It was obvious a plan because the other receivers are better at blocking. The plan is to keep our horrible defense off the field. I’m okay with that.

I understand that, but doesn't answer my question..you would think being out as much as he is would have an adverse effect on the passing game,it hasn't as of yet,why is that?

Because the Cowboys have more than one very good receiver.

He is on pace to shatter his career high in overall snaps with the vast majority of those snaps being passing plays.

He’s fine. I think you will see the snap counts trend back up if we play any “normal” games. You know...one of those games where both teams score under 30 points, we don’t get behind early and have to pass our way back into games while abandoning the run.

Because we are loaded at WR.
