Would you proceed with Dalton or call the Chargers about a 3rd for Tyrod?

What do you guys think of Tyrod Taylor? Do you think he’s better than Dalton and if so - how do you think he compares to Dak? I live in Virginia and he played for Virginia Tech and I thought he was pretty good when he was there but I haven’t really seen him play much after he turned pro.

Tyrod Taylor is hurt right now for the Chargers. He has a punctured lung (by a doctor who was attempting to give him a shot in the ribs). If Justin Herbert continues to do well, I don't know if Taylor will be on the team next season, or if he plays football again.

proceed with Andy Dalton.
im not trading picks for a QB.

Dalton is better and I doubt that even a better QB could pick up the offense quickly at midseason. Dalton is the best backup QB in the league, I don't see a need to overpay to fix something that wasn't broken.

I would be for trading jerry away as he’s the cause of the issues going on 3 decades.

he is an average QB, that can't read defenses, has no accuracy and now is a journey man, destined to be a back up or a temporary bridge to the next QB...not worth a dollar...but perhaps I would trade a 10th round pick for him :)

How about trade dalton for a 3rd, play some defense and start Dinucci?

Please. This team is not very good and will finish 2nd or third in the division. Why in the world would we make trades and give away draft picks for temporary 2020 adjustments. This team should make no moves unless they improve the defense this year and in 2021.

dalton lol
hes been here and he is also better
im not throwing away a good valuable draft pick for tyrod taylor unless he can play defense too!

Yeah on both counts:
Don't see a reason to think Tyrod would do better.
Don't want to throw away draft capital to maybe get a marginally better QB this year. What's the point?

Having said that, I'm in favor of having McCarthy spend some draft capital to bring in QBs to evaluate/develop. Teams don't try that enough, IMO, and McCarthy is supposed to be good at it. We don't know where Dak's ankle will be next year. Only have DiNucci signed for next year. We should have options. If there are particular guys McCarthy thinks he can make something out of, bring one in.

Certainly not for a temporary adjustment.

But we only have Dinucci signed for next year. Don't know how healthy Dak will be. Getting a backup for this year who we might want for next year - and would have the right to - is a good idea.

Don’t spend any more money and don’t waste a draft pick. We did that in 2015 and got worse than Weeden for the trouble.
