Would you proceed with Dalton or call the Chargers about a 3rd for Tyrod?

Tyrod is horrific. I would play the Nooch before Tyrod. And I sure wouldn’t give up a pick for him

Dalton is a 9 year starter and three time Pro Bowler. Tyrod is a dump off king who wouldn’t take advantage of our weapons.

Dalton doesn’t have the raw talent Dak has, but he will get the ball down the field to our WRs.

As a QB Dalton definitely has the raw talent Dak has - probably a good bit more. Dak has had to develope his QB talent. He can't beat anyone in a simple accuracy competition. He is not a natural thrower of the football!

That's what's going to be interesting. The shorter quicker throws, and running the ball more. That alone will make our D a tad better.

Exactly..back when we emphasized time of possession, controlling the clock and running the ball the defense was consistently top third of the league in yards allowed and points. Not because they were great but because they were asked to do less. They got to play 50-60 snaps a game instead of 70-80. The offense also seldom turned the ball over so they faced very few short fields. This McCarthy approach scares me because he and Moore do not seem to realize that "trying to score a lot and score fast" doesn't do you any good if your defense is constantly exposed. We need to slow the game down.. period. and believe that we have more playmakers on offense to win games in the 4th than the other team.

Which guy completes 66% of his passes for his career and which guy completes 62%? Asking for a friend..

Just OK? I kinda thought he was incredible all things considered. Teams dream of getting that game winning field goal with their starting QB let alone the back up.

Let's recap. ..
Dalton comes in and hands the ball the Zeke who runs it in for a TD after Dak gets hurt.
Dalton fumbles handing the Giants 7 points.
Dalton leads the team to two FG drives in the 4th.
So Dak's last three possessions before getting hurt went TD, TD, and on the way to TD before the injury..
Dalton went TD (via handoff), punt, fumble, FG, FG.
Incredible might be overstating things a tad. He was good. If the long throw to Gallup was a yard more out in front it's a walk in TD. At least that's what the Dak critics would be telling us if Dak made that throw. This reminds me of when Weeden came in for Romo in Philly and looked decent for a quarter and a half and we thought he was going to do alright. Then we got to see him for a couple of full games and it was not pretty. I am praying this is not a repeat of that. Dalton is an overall better QB than Weeden so there's hope.

Well lets just compare Apples to Apples from here on.

We can watch it as the season goes - Dalton is currently at 81.8% with THIS offense!

What do you guys think of Tyrod Taylor? Do you think he’s better than Dalton and if so - how do you think he compares to Dak? I live in Virginia and he played for Virginia Tech and I thought he was pretty good when he was there but I haven’t really seen him play much after he turned pro.

I watched Tyrod in Buffalo. Failed NFL QB. Everywhere he goes he is quickly replaced.

Ronnie, you are the one who taught me this, and I'm forever grateful. Before that, I didn't understand just how important it is to run the ball. Makes everything work. Much thanks.

In raw talent, Dak beats talent out by a landslide. It's not close.

What Dalton has that Dak is still developing is quite simply how to best play the QB position in the NFL. Dalton knows how to play, however he simply doesn't possess the skillset to play at a high level.

Why in the world would you say Dalton has more talent? I'm trying to make sense of that, but I'm having trouble.

dalton lol

hes been here and he is also better

im not throwing away a good valuable draft pick for tyrod taylor unless he can play defense too!

That's a good idea. Does he have any Safety experience?

There’s no need. Roll with Dalton. And if he gets hurt, put Dinucci in. And if he gets hurt...Throw in the white towel and just forfeit the season. No team that depleted needs to take field.

if Dinucci gets hurt call Weeden.

Yeah, I was in shock when I saw someone suggesting him. That would be along the same lines as giving up a high draft pick for Weeden. Dumb dumb dumb.

It's simple, he has no natural touch or accuracy. If he did he would not be embarrassed by simple accuracy contest whether it is Jason Garrett or David Carr.

He has worked for everything he has, it is not a natural skill. Not a knock, just an observation. Some people are born with a natural talent of throwing the football - Dak is not that guy - he has worked his butt off, not through natural skill
