Teams being good does not matter its all about matchups.

Pittsburgh, baltimore, SF, Minnesota could score 50 on Dallas because Dallas can't stop the run, can not rush the passer and constantly blow coverages. Throw in the fact that they are dumb and are getting beat every week on wr reverse passes and trick plays and this team is setup for some serious blowouts ahead.

also because of this Philly, Washington, NY and Cincy .... struggling teams will all be toss up games.

Dallas doesn't have a single thing they can say...we do this well. if this team were to finish 4-12 I don't think it would be anymore surprising than 8-8.
Everything you're saying about Dallas is true about those other teams as well.

Minnesota is just as capable of losing a game as Dallas.

Sort of. I trust all those teams to play better on defense than Dallas.

Not to be critical but do you think The Washington “ Football Team”will ever get a name?what a joke!
About the only time I have ever given Snyder a hint of respect,, Danny boy basically said Ok, I need to be PC, how about no name at all.
Good for him.

Every team is, just look at the standings.
Basically I look at it as the season is wide open for every team at this point.

Pretty much, yea.

GB I think is still ahead of the curve, because the way they're winning is really sustainable. I think TB can get to that point, come December. But after that, there's very little difference between Seattle, Dallas, LAR, Arizona, Chicago, Carolina.

always makes me laugh:

Cowboys lose - next week all kinds of posts about going winless the rest of the year or barely getting a couple of wins

Cowboys win (even with losing Dak) - and now we can maybe go 8-8 to 10-6

what's the common denominator here....the defense is garbage and got worse with losing Hill....outside of the NFCE there are maybe 1-2 games on our schedule that we wont be the underdog....assuming we split with philly and wash and beat ny a second time, that gets us to 5 wins....i would be shocked to see 8.

So you are part of category 1? Right now my only concerns is this team playing better especially on defense and winning the NFC East. with 12 weeks to go I will sit back and see how they progress or regress

If Andy Dalton gets time to throw and we get LVE, Lee, Gregory to stay healthy and on the field for the remainder of the season. We should be able to win a lot of our remaining games.

and if the fairy god mother comes down and sprinkles fairy dust, and if the monkeys with the purple buttocks sing, and if Garrett stops clapping, and if Jerry puts down the Blue, and if God himself puts an invisible barrier on our goal line...we might be 8-8

While No one outside of GB is that great, I’m reserving judgment until after MNF. If Dalton can play within himself and distribute the ball to these weapons we will be fine. Not as explosive as with Dak, but these dudes are studs. Not just the top 3. All 5 of them and you can throw In Schultz.

If we beat Zona we can win this division.

Some say Pittsburgh is overrated. I don't know. Just hope we knock 'em off. Any given Sunday.

Guess it depends on the rating. I will say that their 4-0 record is not indicative of how good they are when looking at other undefeated and 1 loss teams. I'd put them at the lower end of that entire group even with my homer goggles on.

i think you misunderstood what i meant....i was saying when the cowboys win or lose those are the respective views on here the following week.

For me, i would bet a lot of money that we are going to have one of if not the worst defenses in the history of the nfl before the year is over and, as such, will do no better than 6-10. obviously im still going to watch the games but our ceiling is a wc round loss at this point after winning a very very bad division...which i don't even know i would want at this point.

No I understand how this board works, Dallas win and SB talk starts up, lose and we are the worst thing in the NFL and everyone needs to be fired, cut and traded. I also understand this defense is playing poorly and until or unless they start producing better than they have it is going to be hard to win games. I tend to think this defense will start playing better (not great) but I think this is why McCarthy is willing to stay the course because he feels they can get this turned around and players on the same page. For me I see a lot of confusion by defense and blown assignments and I hope to see them have a better grasp to play with more instinct and less thinking

Who are the DT's on this team? Crawford, Woods and Rook from OK. Did not list Poe because he is invisible and when he tackles someone it will be the first of the season.

i hope so.
protect the ball.
lean on Zeke a bit.
defense needs to be just good enough...not great.
i think Dalton being an experienced QB gives us a punchers chance.

They'd better play well. That's how you win regardless of the opponent. I hope Dalton balls out as the O-line gels and the defense and special teams both figure it out. Division champs and at least 1 playoff win. I can dream, can't I?

3 miracles you are asking for there. But I will enjoy watching.

Easily done if we don't turn the ball over and could stop someone on defense.

For whatever reason, will we go on a roll and start faster and win games and the division with say a 10-6 record and surprise everyone ?

Dalton is not a QB that an "escapeable" from a rush that will be open on each side with (2) undrafted OT. Odd of Dalton joining Dak on IR is high

I believe the cowboys have the weakest schedule remaining of all teams in the league.

10-6 seems like much. 8-8 is doable.

Just so much depends on the defense playing somewhat better.

if they were slightly below average. The cowboys can win. A whole bunch of games.

they can’t keep giving up 31+ points a game though.
