I am a Dak fan. I felt sick all last night about his injury. But I am a Dallas Cowboy fan above all regarding this franchise. So I hope Dak heals and can come back and lead this team.

But today I am an Andy Dalton fan. So below is the status of this WR crew including tight ends.

What can Dallas expect from these players now that they have a change at quarterback?

And what is your opinion on how Dalton's mobility will affect the overall WR stats, considering Dallas is playing With a HOF in Martin, a sketchy lineman in Williams, and three rookies? Will he be taking more sacks that end drives?

AND can Cee Dee Lamb keep on pace with his Rookie of the Year season?

I am terrible with these chart things. Apologies.

  • Amari Cooper - Games 5, Rec 39, Yards 424, Avg 10.9, Long 58, TD 1, 1st Dwn 23, 1st% 58.97, 20+ 4, 40+ 1
  • Michael Gallup - Games 5, Rec 17, Yards 348, Avg 20.5, Long 52, TD 1, 1st Dwn 14, 1st% 82.35, 20+ 6, 40+ 2
  • Cee Dee Lamb - Games 5, Rec 29, Yards 433, Avg 14.0, Long 43, TD 2, 1st Dwn 20, 1st% 69.87, 20+ 9, 40+ 1
  • Cedrick Wilson - Games 5, Rec 12, Yards 163, Avg 13.6, Long 42, TD 2, 1st Dwn 9, 1st% 75, 20+ 2, 40+ 2
  • Noah Brown - Games 5, Rec 7, Yards 80, Avg 11.4, Long 20, TD 0, 1st Dwn 1, 1st% 14.29, 20+ 1, 40+ 0

  • Dalton Schultz - Games 5, Rec 19, Yards 225, Avg 11.8, Long 28, TD 2, 1stDwn 13, 1st% 68.42, 20+ 3, 40+ 0
  • Blake Bell - Games 5, Rec 5, Yards 71, Avg 14.2, Long 24, TD 0 1st Dwn 4, 1st % 80, 20+ 1, 40+ 0

Hard to say ever since none of these guys are proven to be HOF quality.

Lol....I prefer the Billy Davis, Patrick Jeffers and Jeff Ogden powerhouse.

I’ll see your role player WRs and raise you one Jason Tucker.

Seriously though...I always felt like Jason Tucker could have been cultivated into something if we had invested more time in developing him. Dude would’ve been great in a Mike Martz offense. His build / playing style was like a poor man’s Isaac Bruce.

the OP would have been better to use the words MIGHT and take off EVER...

the issue is i doubt this group will be together long enough to prove that and not play in enough BIG moments to cement it..FA and player movement is so normal now teams dont stay together long at all..

1971 WR and TE starters in Super Bowl 6, the Cowboys first championship. Not only were they all HOFers, they were each cited as defining their position as generational players at that position.

Drew Pearson

Tony Hill

Butch Johnson

Starting WR's in Super Bowl 12.Drew Pearson was Staubach's go to receiver and the recipient of almost every iconic Cowboy catch. Hill was both solid and dependable, Cowboys leading receiver for 8 consecutive seasons. Butch Johnson was a dynamic big play receiver and the Cowboys first "3rd" receiver when 3 WR sets began to emerge in the NFL.

Michael Irvin

Alvin Harper

Kelvin Martin

Starting WR's in Super Bowl 27. The Playmaker, a HOFer. Harper was a big play receiver who saved his best plays for the playoffs. Martin was a great slot receiver responsible for moving a lot of chains.

What they all have in common was that they earned championship rings. That is the first criteria by which you judge a specific squad on a team. A trio of WR's should be judged individually based only on their contribution to winning a championship. In all three of these cases, all three in each trio played a significant role that season and was an integral part of the championships.

The three current WR's do not qualify for consideration....yet.

not sure......Drew Pearson, Tony Hill, and Butch Johnson had an impressive 6-7 year run as the Boys WR trio. All were very good receivers. unfortunately we wont be able to keep a trio intact for that many years in today's free agency.

These are the guys I would have said. That was a good run. I think the current receiver set might have more talent, but the game is different, and with the salary cap, will we keep them for long? Cooper might be trade bait. Cee Dee.....I think he's a Micheal Irvin type guy. Gallup is no slouch either.

Alvin Harper benefited from Irvin getting double teamed quite a bit. When he bailed to Tampa, we all saw he wasn't a rock star without Irvin on the other side. I actually liked K-Mart though.

If the defense is the worse defense in nfl history, and the cowboys are putting up very high offensive numbers, I dont see how wins and losses determine whether the receivers are the best ever or not. Im not saying they are or they arent...Tony Hill, Drew Pearson and Butch Johnson would love to debate it. Example 98 Falcons beat the Vikings with Moss, Carter and the slots name escapes me at the moment, but that surely doesnt take away from the vikings WR group.

LOL, yeah, he was one of those players who retired the moment he signed that huge free agent contract.

Definitely top 2 for sure if not number one. When the Cowboys had Irvin, Harper, and Martin in 92 they also pretty much dominated.

I would take the Pearson, Hill, Johnson, Golden Richards foursome over this bunch to date. Richards was a wonderful receiver who almost never saw the field because of the style in which the game was played back then. He went from #2 to #4 when Tony Hill and Butch Johnson started to emerge. The current group may yet ascend to the top .. but at this point I can't put it there yet.

High level for sure. My favorite is the fan double standard.

Fans whine that where over-saturated and over invested at WR yet these where the same fans that 2 years ago where crying non-stop that we had WR by committee.
