Afternoon Pops, Afternoon Jobs. Afternoon Fellas and to all who have stopped in this Monday.

So, sad news on Jobberone. Decent guys all the way around and I liked him. I called Jobs, I'm gonna say around November or so and spoke with him for about 10 minutes. He told me that he was battling and going in for a procedure. I checked back with him in March but I never got any response and I feared then what that might mean. Jobs was a good dude and he will be missed. Jobs, if your still checking in, maybe tell Pops hello for us all. You two will get on great, I know it.

Everybody, I hope you had a safe, enjoyable weekend. Mine was busy, we received a new addition to the Family, my Son ABQJr. just had his second Son late Friday night so lots of stuff going on. Happy and healthy boy, both Mom and Dad are doing well so all good news.

Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, hope you are all enjoying a great Monday!

Everyone, be well today. Celebrate life, it's fleeting and it's precious........
Morning Pops and everyone.

Congrats on the new grandbaby ABQ! Can’t wait to see mine. They’ll be here part of next week. Time moves quickly... been over a year since I saw them last and I’m actually a little nervous about seeing them after all this time. Not sure why.

Have a great day all!

Good morning Pops and Zoner Friends,

@ABQCOWBOY , congratulations on the new family addition - ABQ Jr Jr?.

@GrammaJan and congratulations and best wishes for your new grand child.

The oddest thing is when Montanalo gets a guest shot in a dream. Really, @Xelda, really. I find it hauntingly refreshing that I get a guest shot.

To all, greetings from Montana. The household goods arrived and, generally, in very good shape. The house is full of boxes and the cats randomly perch on the tallest boxes to examine their new domain. For the past several days, we been blessed with rain in the morning and sunny skies in afternoon. It is quite chilly in the morning with temperatures hovering around freezing. All in all, really glad we're here.

Morning Pops and Thirsty Thursday Thoroughbreds and alliteration with a lisp would be easier.

ABQ, congrats on another “spoil it and return it’ in the family.

X girl, you see a walking Whoopie cushion in one of your dreams, don’t be frightened. And don’t startle me because I can get weird in other people’s dreams.

I have had nightmares most of my life. I lost a favorite relative at 5 and our grandfather at 6. I would dream of us pulling up to their house and there would be a tree with all the dead relatives laying on the branches (family tree I guess). There would be no leaves on the tree, so everyone could see the horror. I didn't want to go there.

When I dream about any of you, I'm usually walking some place and end up in a crowd. Your personalities will show up more than a face. The oddest thing is when Montanalo gets a guest shot in a dream.

The dreams with Runny, all I could see was his back and somehow knew that was him. Don't worry you weren't nekkid, Runny. I don't know of anything out of the ordinary these two dreams. I just felt protective and vulnerable in my acute lack of medical training.

Interesting. I should have sat down and lit a cigar for this one. So do you actually see any of our faces or are we kinda always in the background and never really a focal point, so to speak?

You know, when I was very young, I had a reoccurring dream myself. I would always dream that I was trapped on a train that was full of snakes. I would run from them from car to car until I finally ended up in the coal car. So you have to remember that I'm a little older and so my dream was of an older train right? So I dreamed of a Coal Fed Train where you shovel the coal still. Anyway, I would end up in that Coal Car and the snake was black and of course, the setting was night so I could never see it, I could only hear it hiss until it was right on me and then I could see it rear up ready to strike and then I would wake up. Now, this went on till I was maybe 8 or so. My Grandad was the one who taught me to beat it. He taught me how to discipline my mind and wake myself up when the dream started by telling myself that none of it was real. That it was all a dream and that I could just wake up.

Well, I feel for you Xelda. I guess all that Gold you got going, you gotta expect to have a little bit of lead come your way too. That kinda sucks. I'm sorry you have this going on girl. I can see how this would be super annoying!

Thank you Jan! Yeah, not too sure about the nervous thing either but it doesn't matter. That nervous will go away the minute you see that little face. Enjoy every second Girl!

He would technically be ABQ the 3rd, but I hesitate to call him that because he actually has an older Brother who is 3 and may end up being ABQ the 3rd himself. So I guess we'll have to see!

Morning Pops and Popsadoodles. I got a new phone yesterday. It's a lot bigger which makes me think I can play better games on it. I don't want to admit that I've played so many games on my little phone that I had dead spots all over it.

Yep that's me Leon. I've also got my mouth wide open, singing along.

Don't worry, Coachadoodles. I've had to get on to you more than once. If there's a party with a patio, I know to look for you. Once I told you to leave a specific woman alone. You were picking your legs up and putting them down in a cartoonish maneuver to mess with a whole group of women. I wondered out loud if I should save them then someone said 'no, let him go'. I'm not sure, but I believe that was one of the Popsadoodles.

ABQ I can have strong, strange dreams. The family tree was a reoccurring dream in my youth. Another was when we moved across the street from the cemetery. In my dreams there was a large seashell in the cemetery facing away from our house that pulled people into it. They would wander around dirt tunnels with a little light trying to find a way to get out. Caskets would be in the roof poking through where people had tried to get out. I knew I was thin and almost strong enough to find openings and help them out. I am claustrophobic, but had to try and save my family. I was glad when those ended. These were two dreams that I had often. I wish I had someone like you had to help me.

Have a good Thursday everyone.

Good evening Pops and friends.

Long day today, starting in Manhattan. I won't tell you what I saw and smelled the while time I was unloading at my first stop, because I'm sure nobody wants to visualize a dead, rotting rat, especially Zelda, cuz she'll probably dream about me as a rat from now on.

One more workday left in the week, so rev up your happy!

The new one is here local where I live, but you know restrictions with COVID and all that stuff. The ones (3+my daughter) coming for the visit are flying in from VA. Haven’t seen them in a year since my daughter got engaged, but it’ll be good for us all to be together for a few days. They’ve all grown and changed so much. They’re staying with me and get to see the house finally. Maybe that’s where the nerves come in... anxious about approval.

I'm sorry, Runny. I didn't intend to have those dreams. They were the same but different. One in a hospital and the other on the highway. I would never picture as a rat though. Yes, I cracked the code. I think with things as slow as they are, CZ is leaving a larger impression than normal.

Morning Pops and Popsadoodles. I've laid down caffeine and sugar this week. It's a different world out there now. People still drive too slow. I'm later for work than normal. I think time must have sped up. I sit down for 15 minutes which turns into an hour. I see my poorly worded statements and apologize for them. I hope I've explained myself well. It's getting cooler here, which translates into nice sleeping weather.

Another goodie, Dabz. Thank you for bringing all the pictures to us.

Have a great Friday, even better Saturday and a chest pumping excellent Sunday. I will be playing from my living room. I'm on offense. We are the Cowboys! :star:

I wish you had too Xelda. That old man, he was one of a kind. At the time, I never really thought about it, I was just happy that I was able to end the dreams but later on, after my Grandad had passed, I was sitting around with my Uncles and Aunts and the conversations turned towards The Old Man, and I told the story of how he taught me to stop the dreams and it was my oldest Aunt, my Aunt Ida, who told me this. She asked me, "Do you know how your Grandpa knew how to do that?" I had never thought about that, to be honest and I told her so. Told here that I didn't know. She told me that it was because he had so many nightmares himself over WWII and Korea that he had to find a way to deal with them. He had to figure out a way to get some sleep and so he learned, himself, to be able to wake himself. I had never really appreciated that but after that, I was even more in awe of that old man, which is saying something.

I too wished you had had somebody like my Grandad to teach you that little trick Xelda.

So, is everybody else ready for the Weekend?

I'm not sure what all we have going on but I do know this. It's time to get all the Air Coolers winterized so we'll do my house, my boys houses, my Mom and Dad's house and my Uncle's and Aunt's houses, as needed. Be along weekend.

Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, I hope you are all doing well and have a decent plan lined up for the weekend.

Everybody, have a happy, safe weekend! Come back next week, ready to do it all again!

Gonna leave everybody with this one for the weekend kickoff. This is a Sam Cooke Tune but this version is a duo with the Great Sam Cooke and also the Great Jackie Wilson performing "Cha-Cha-Cha"

My dear lady, do not seek approval from others but from yourself. Your opinion of yourself should be good enough for anyone else.

I spent part of my early years trying to make everyone like me and if they didn't, I thought there was something wrong with me. When in truth, it was exactly the opposite because they missed out on getting to know someone worth knowing. And if they didn't like me, it was for their own reasons and I couldn't fix that.

I discovered I didn't need anyone else to judge me, I could do that every time I looked at my reflection. I also discovered I was a little tougher on myself than others were and needed to cut myself some slack.

Morning, Pops and pen pals. When I was just a little boy, we lived right next to a river levee with train tracks on top. I used to watch the California Zepher zoom by as well as the old, lumbering freight trains. My mom would warn me to stay away from the tracks because the train might "suck me under the wheels."
Scared the crap out of me and I would have this recurring dream. I would be playing in the yard and a train would come by. But instead of getting pulled under the wheels, it would stop and a man would come to take me away. I would trky to run to the house but, of course my legs felt like they were made of iron so I couldn't move very fast. I would make it to the doorsteps (3) but couldn't climb them. The fear would mount and mount as the man came closer and, just when he would stretch out his arms to grab me I would wake up.

The dream continued until we moved when I was 17, even though the tracks had been removed years earlier. My dad still owned the house and when I got married at 24, my wife and I moved into the house for about a year. The dreams returned immediately and lasted until we moved the hell out of there.

The irony or dichotomy is that I have exceptionally fond memories of my childhood in that house. I believe that the product of a close-knit and loving family. But those dreams...

Morning Pops and everyone.

Cold and rainy Sunday... low 40’s for a high. Feels like that weird Winter to Spring transition that I hate.

Got released to in home PT and told I don’t need the brace anymore, but the pain is very real so I think I’ll keep wearing it a bit longer. I have a feeling I just went into debt on this medical even more than I was before. Probably look at getting a second job once the upcoming visit is done.

Speaking of the visit, I’ll spend the rest of the weekend tidying up the house for the grands visit this week and researching how to winterize the mower and mini tiller. I suppose that actual task will be done next weekend. My ex has a small engine business that played a part in the demise of our marriage (did i ever mention there was an ex before my guy Elisha?). Anyway, I’m sure if I asked he would gladly pick up the mower and do it for me, but he’d probably sell it or for some other reason I’d never get it back. Yeah, he even pulled that crap on people we knew. Lol one (former) neighbor, who I still get along with to this day, even came to our house and “compensated“ himself for his missing lawn equipment and is now the owner of a really nice aluminum extension ladder. He chose well :), and you now have a small glimpse into why there’s an ex. The main reason there’s an ex is so much worse.

Supposed to rain much of the time while the grands are visiting so that killed the idea of visiting a pumpkin patch too. Maybe I’ll take them for pizza and bowling one of those days. Of course they get to go have a visit with my ex, although they don’t even know who he is (he’s (again, my ex) never once visited them since the Navy moved them away 5 years ago and they don’t even remember him. The youngest has met him maybe twice, and she’s almost 5. He doesn’t even acknowledge birthdays or holidays). Anyway, they are also getting time with their paternal grandparents while they’re here so in reality I’ll only see them for a day and a half of the 3 days they are visiting. Really sucks since this visit was MY idea and I financed most of it, but my daughter is taking the high road. She’s a much better person than I am. The paternal grands have the wherewithal to fly out whenever they want, unlike me. They also choose not to visit.

Ok. Enough whining and negativity out of me for one day. Gotta look at the positive and be thankful for the time I’m going to have with them. Time for me to get moving today. Lots to do on this Monday Eve. Two work days then 5 off!!

Everyone have a great day.

We are experiencing similar weather in MT, Jan. Later this week, however, the temperatures are expected to dip into the single digits.

Glad you can PT at home... Hope to have a lot more commitment than I did when I injured my knee. Without the (sadistic) physio driving me, I really become quite lax.

So, here is the real reason I replied to your post - take the high road with your ex as it relates to the grandkids.

Following my son's divorce, his ex was awarded sole custody of their two toddlers and she immediately cut off all communication with our grandkids. I spent 2 years in and out of court trying to secure grandparent rights. My ex refused to join in the lawsuit as she had a "great relationship" with the ex daughter-in-law. Soon after I was awarded visitation and part custody, my ex now wanted to "share" visitation with the kids. I took the high road and agreed. Within a year, my ex fundamentally stopped making the effort of seeing the grandkids. Karma..
