I can't believe I'm typing this but I think it's time to trade him. Gallup has WR1 traits. Cee Dee does as well. Cedric Wilson seems poised to be a good WR3. They are all on their rookie deals. Gallup gonna need a new contract and we know eventually Cee Dee gonna get a big 2nd contract.

Love Coop but at $20M I am expecting more from him. His knick knack injuries are starting to pile up. Not sure what the Cowboys can get for him, but trading him should be explored this offseason or sooner.

Thoughts?

I have no idea. I'm sure a cap guru on this board will let us know.

Knowing Stephen Jones and their cap experts they are contemplating this as we speak. As soon as it's advantageous to do so, he's gonna be approached to take a paycut or he's a goner.

We just signed him this past offseason. I don’t see how they can. I’m sure had they known they were going to be gifted Lamb they would have made other plans.

Having said that, Coops route running ability is what keeps DC’s up at night. Don’t be fooled, he’s awesome.

Typically teams don't get better by decreasing the talent level on the roster. I get he is playing a position where we are strong already.
However without knowing the cap hit and his trade value we can't know if this is a good idea.
We may be going into a season where the cap drops. When you have to pay Dak and you have the worst defense in the league I am not sure the best move is to trade away Cooper and have your cap hit even harder.

Sorry, but that's a requirement for me before anyone suggests trading or cutting a player.

As with this season, people are suggesting 'fire sales' and trading for and away from players without considering the financial impact, which are deal breakers.

I wish before people suggested things, they checked into whether or not they were feasible.

Nothing personal.

Oh I love the guy. He saved our season when he came here via trade. I don't think they can afford to keep Gallup, pay him and pay Cee Dee when the time comes.

I guess I'm choosing Gallup over him in this scenario. Gallup is a beast.

The only team that would be willing to give up a first round pick for a WR on a massive deal is Jerruh so this seems like a non starter.

I doubt it, there are teams that will be desperate enough to believe that they are just one WR away.

Resign Gallup with the cap space created by Daks new contract and 98’s departure and hold on to all three until CD becomes el mero mero

Who's buying?

If you were the GM of another team which wr are you asking for from our squad? Is it Cooper on a 20/year deal or is it MG who has 1 year left on his deal? Assuming Lamb is untouchable. The good thing about cooper is being able to cut him in 2022 and only lose 6m. I think long term MG is still the more attractive player for other teams especially with his athletic big play ability.

I'd rather cut Zeke and eat the cap hit than trade Cooper.

If you trade him after this season, I believe he's a $28 million dead cap hit for next year. His 2021 salary of $20 million is guaranteed and you'd have to take the remaining 4 years of his signing bonus ($2 million per year) as a cap charge next year.

If you want to trade him, its post-2021 season. Despite all the complaining, most people don't understand his contract. It's actually quite team friendly. He was only guaranteed $40MM at signing with another $20MM becoming guaranteed on the 5th day of the 2022 league year.

Cap hit is too much.

after next season? I am open to it depending on how much somebody offers.

Amari is the best receiver on the team right now. Though lamb may surpass him soon.

Amari is very very good.
