The interior DL is killing us, and those guys arent going to suddenly get better.

Hill is gone, Gallimore needs time, Poe is cooked, and Crawford and Woods are poster boys for the FO overrating talent.

But for the DTs, I could still entertain fairy tale dreams of LVE, Lee, Gregory, and Awuzie righting the ship in the defense and the offense rolling over teams with Dalton playing like a Pro Bowl QB with the strongest set of skill players he's ever had.

But the DTs are just so weak, and there's no possible solution.

Please explain to me how you get “Jimmy has MORE enthusiasm” out of a second party quote?
If you've paid attention to Jimmy Johnson in recent years, he's been critical of Dak. Now, with Dak injured for the rest of the season, this team's Oline injury depleted, rushing attack lacking and our Defense stinking up the joint every game, Jimmy comes out and makes such a bold statement that the Cowboys will win the NFC East with Dalton at QB?

Yeah, exactly. Jimmy definitely seems more enthusiastic with Dalton as starting QB.

We should care less about winning the NFC East and more about winning the Super Bowl.

Then we'll go 9-7. And we'll lose in the first round of the playoffs. And we'll be drafting in the 18 spot instead of the 4 spot in each round. And then we'll keep wondering why we never get better than midtable.

Dallas hasnt been a SB contender since 2007, and with dak or dalton, are not a SB contender right now. Playoff appearance is best we can expect.

Tanking isnt easy, the coaches players and owner would all have to be onboard with that.
And if your in a weak division it is even harder to lose games.
And no team that is in 1st place is going to consider tanking lol.

Mainly the owner gm would have to really want the # 1 pick for a qb, and the jones boys say they want dak.
Plus no matter how good cowboys are , if they get in playoffs, in jerrys mind they have a chance to go to the SB.
He thinks that any team that gets in playoffs can go all the way lol.

Even Jimmy falls victim to the "Best team he has been on"

Good lord. Why is this always the type of talk around Dallas. Best talent, Best Stadium....blah blah blah.

If Jimmy said the sky is blue...you;d go out and see it;s blue and still call him a liar. OK....clutch your agenda and narrative...but don't hurt yourself.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. We could go 6-10 and win the east. That's how bad this division is.
it is truly bad, but I believe somewhere along the line at least one of the teams will get it together enough to string a few wins and maybe end up 8-8. The problem is I am not at all sure that's going to be the Cowboys.

Winning the East is a low bar, so there's a good chance that Jimmy will be right. Doing more than that will depend on the development of the defense. There's a chance it will get better simply because we're getting some players back and the defenders will get more comfortable with the season as it progresses, but how much better is a big question.

Andy Dalton was never going to a major problem, considering the offensive players around him. Can the line protect him and can the defense stop someone?

I wouldn't be making predictions on which team is going to win the worst division in the league at this point. And I wouldn't be laying it all on a QB with the worst D in the league either.

The Eagles are not going away and they've taken PIT and BAL to the wire and averaged 28.5ppg against two D's a hell of a lot better than the Cowboys.
