This game is huge

This game is huge for the Psyche of this team. Dalton made some big throws at the end of last week. But after the game the players still seemed kind of down after losing Dak.

If they can beat a respectable Cardinals team today and play some clean efficient football with Dalton that could completely change the momentum for the season. The last time the Cowboys won a game they weren’t supposed to was 2018 vs the Saints. That’s too long and this team needs a big win. If they win I think they have a serious shot at 9-7 and the playoffs. If they lose and get embarrassed this team might implode and go 5-11.

I agree with your points. Idk if losing will mean a definitely fall apart.

but it’s a very big game and key to string together a couple wins and to build confidence with a new QB playing.

I agree it is a big game, Cowboys need to string wins to separate from the rest of the east. Besides that, this is a good Arz and Cowboys need to step up and wins games like this.

Let's see if the team (and the coaches) have the character to suck it up, man up, and play to win with 100% effort or, if like a bunch of girlie men, they just give up before it even begins because Dak ain't there. The coaches are responsible for telling them this very thing to the team but listening to McCarthy so far I doubt he's done it.

If the Cowboys lose, they still lead the East. This game is much more important to AZ in the toughest division in the league. This is looking like a mediocre East team will be playing in January while a good West team sits home unless it is conceivable that every West team makes it? 3 WC's are going so it could happen that an entire division makes the playoffs.

Newsflash:

Our defense is trash. Your post alludes that we have a chance in January and we do not have this.

It is huge. We have an opportunity to build a lead in our division before we get the Pitts and Balty’s of the world.

Again, Dalton won’t be the problem unless the OL fails to show up.

If you want this game to be close with any chance to win, the defense has to look very different than the first 5 weeks.

Been saying all week it's a must win.

I was roundly told I did not have a clue.

Philly was going to flush itself and we could win the division with 7-9 record becuz all the teams are bad.

I do not think that is going to do it.

We need this game for all the reasons you mentioned.

And then some.

I agree. Not a must win from a standings standpoint, but from the question of can this team actually compete without Dak. If dalton lays an egg, defense gives up 35, and this isn't even close you'll see a lot of players pack it in and start making business decisions for themselves.

As of today

Ranking the remaining games by "hugeness"
  1. Philadelphia (NFCE top challenger, home, have not played yet)
  2. at Philadelphia (NFCE top challenger, away)
  3. Washington (NFCE home, have not played yet)
  4. at Washington (NFCE away)
  5. at New York (NFCE away, but have beaten once)
  6. Arizona (NFC common game...home)
  7. at San Francisco (NFC common game...away)
  8. at Minnesota (NFC)
  9. Pittsburgh (AFC)
  10. at Cincinnati (AFC)
Some more important than others but this does have some tie-breaker implcations

Are you kidding? You may see some pack it in and make business decisions tonight just because their boyfriend isn't at QB when they SHOULD be playing their hearts out for that very reason. This game is going to be a real showcase for what kind of coach we got ---or if we just got one who's coasting for a paycheck. He's already said some counterproductive stupid things.

Dak fan boys are about to be so mad tonight ... it's gonna be glorious lol
Repeat that out loud and tell me if it doesn’t sound dumb.

I guess I’m a Dak fanboy because I like him as a player and think he’s good, but I only want to see the Cowboys win every game this season.

Are being a fanboy and wanting the team to win mutually exclusive?

obvious troll. He makes that comment as he probably openly rooted for Dak to fail despite being the starting QB....
