Personally, some guys are just better in coordinator roles. Wade Phillips? Awful HC, decent DC. Norv Turner? Meh HC, pretty solid OC. Zimmer could be in that boat.

How is Wade Phillips a terrible HC?

I doubt Zimmer comes to Dallas to be a DC. I think he will get HC offers.

Hey I have a great idea! Let’s bring back all of our previous sucky coaches that we couldn’t wait to kick out. Dave Campo anyone for head coach? How about bringing back the red clapper for offensive coordinator? What about Scott Linehan?

Zimm had some really good defenses, he also had really good players...but he held this team afloat with some really bad offenses...I doesn't matter though if the vikings fire him he will get another HC gig not the DC here.

Let me correct that for you.....for factual sake.

In 7 years in Dallas,
Zimmer had 1 really good defense,
2 average defenses,
and 4 really bad defenses.

Is Zimmer a decent head coach? Maybe.
But in Dallas, he sucked as a coordinator.

Zimmer would be great but let’s be honest our players are on the dumb side so it wouldn’t matter... remember they need to dumb it down, especially for Jaylon Smith.

But with *no* coaching experience, I wouldn't turn over the defense to him next year. But maybe they've seen enough of him in meetings to feel confident.

Nice post. I wouldn't mind considering Lee as DC either.
