I would not consider this a big win. A big win would be beating the Steelers or Ravens.

The Cardinals have improved recently, but are hardly a juggernaut.

You are right but I think winning 2 in a row after losing dak last week would be massive which is the ops point

Again, Dalton won’t be the problem unless the OL fails to show up.

If you want this game to be close with any chance to win, the defense has to look very different than the first 5 weeks.
Makes me wonder how many will blame Dalton if he does great but the team around him folds like depressed little girlie men. "Oh our hearts are just not in it anymore since Dak is gone." THAT is when Fat Mike needs to kick some butts!!!!!!!! I best see every one of those guys giving 100% and not leaving anything on the field.

If the Cowboys lose, they still lead the East. This game is much more important to AZ in the toughest division in the league. This is looking like a mediocre East team will be playing in January while a good West team sits home unless it is conceivable that every West team makes it? 3 WC's are going so it could happen that an entire division makes the playoffs.

In terms of division you are right but in terms of the mental state of this team this is important, Dallas has to start playing on both sides of the ball and they must beat contending teams. Clearly this is not a do or die game but it is a very important game to this team

Dak fan boys are about to be so mad tonight ... it's gonna be glorious lol

Why? Dak has not been the problem unless he is playing on defense. I want Dalton to go out and play a very good game but winning is going to come down to this defense standing up on their own. Cowboys winning to me is more important than the childish QB controversy that take place around here

This game is huge for the Psyche of this team. Dalton made some big throws at the end of last week. But after the game the players still seemed kind of down after losing Dak.

If they can beat a respectable Cardinals team today and play some clean efficient football with Dalton that could completely change the momentum for the season. The last time the Cowboys won a game they weren’t supposed to was 2018 vs the Saints. That’s too long and this team needs a big win. If they win I think they have a serious shot at 9-7 and the playoffs. If they lose and get embarrassed this team might implode and go 5-11.

Good post my man, I can't really argue any point. The only thing I can say, and this is nitpicking at its finest, is the Cards aren't really a team I'd hang my hat on to be comfortable after beating. The Steelers or Ravens? Absolutely. But I do agree this would be a good win and or a horrible loss. But the Cards? I'll still be skeptical to a point depending on how our D plays.

I heard an interesting question earlier today. When was the last time the Cardinals were favored in a game against Dallas at Texas or AT&T stadium? Or the Cotton Bowl for that matter? Was it ever? I really don't know.

Are you kidding? You may see some pack it in and make business decisions tonight just because their boyfriend isn't at QB when they SHOULD be playing their hearts out for that very reason. This game is going to be a real showcase for what kind of coach we got ---or if we just got one who's coasting for a paycheck. He's already said some counterproductive stupid things.
They didn't pack it in last week after dak went out. If anything they did a 180 and showed some fight.

Not sure what counterproductive comments you're talking about, but ill give this team a chance tonight before I rule them out of anything.

Agreed....

Which way are we going?

Tonight will show much of that.

I think the defense plays much better but we will see.

if we lose this game, then I think we probably split with Eagles. beat washington twice (although we may lose to them depending on how they respond with new QB, they do have a decent front line on defense). and beat giants. but Pittsburgh, Ravens, niners, look like losses. that would end up making us an 8-8 team...having beaten up on weak NFC least..... and probably a one and done in the playoffs and end up in the 20s for the draft for a team with a lot of draft needs (OT, DT, Saftey, LB, DE, Guard)....if we lose tonight, It would be best for us to keep losing (not that I wish for that...) and perhaps a 5-11 or 6-10 record and a better draft pick would help us more in the long run....

Only way that happens if some one major gets hurt or knocked out of the game, actually two major player on offense would need to be out (no names so as not to jinx anyone) other wise big win tonight

Yeah..

And if some of his play calls were those failed plays on 4th down from punt formation..

then he has issues with taking the wrong actions at the wrong time.

It forced unneeded scores from the other team when we should just punt.

He also refused to kick a FG that would probably sent us to OT late in a game but he tried to score a TD with Zeke who got stuffed and we lost instead.

So there are mistakes all over the place from our HC.

Got to fix it.

Bingo. This game is all about the defense...defense can’t give up 30pts and win. Andy Dalton will be ok, but without a defense to help it’s a loss season

Since the Cards are so favored on offense, I say we blitz on 80% of downs. If we're going to go down, might as well go down the hard and fast way. Try our best to rattle Kyler. At the least, it might knock the rookie off his game. If we let him sit back in the pocket, he absolutely tears the Dallas defense up.

Terrible matchup for us.Defense also has no idea what they are doing.our DEs played well against the Giants but Jones just stepped up into the pocket and easily hit his receivers.I dont think it will be a blow out but the Cards will win this easily.

Big game for how the rest of the season looks. Can Dalton and our Ts still keep the offense humming?

Good reason to think not, some reason to think so. I'm more concerned about Steele holding up than Dalton, but I won't be surprised if Dalton starts looking like a backup either.

Can returning defensive players help right the ship? Or will the *increased* weakness at DT sink us no matter how other positions improve?

The season is very much up in the air on offense and defense.

As of today

Ranking the remaining games by "hugeness
....
Some more important than others but this does have some tie-breaker implcations

tie- breakers only matter if we dont win the division , so our first goal is to win one more game than our NFC (L)East co- teams .
Hence all games are important from now onwards, especially at home against not-so established teams is .
