None of the other teams in the NFC East have a good QB.

Even with our terrible defense the division title is ours to lose.

We should see what the team can do with Dalton, to better evaluate what Dak brings to the team.

I have changed my tune a bit on this. My idea that Dak is in part the product of a great offense has been debunked as I saw him perform without an oline or a run game. Dak showed me he is the engine that drives this team.

I dont expect Dalton capable of doing the same. Although I have hope, with a rejuvenated run game Dalton does an admirable job and keeps this offense humming along.

If that is the case it will be interesting to see where negotiations go with Dak. Im hoping we get him signed long term and Im hoping we are able to do that with a somewhat cap friendly contract.

That's pretty much whats been happening up to this point. Trying to win and losing anyway. I don't see how going from Dak to Dalton is going to improve or change that scenario.
The QB change shouldn't help, but they don't have a lot of winning teams (at least to date) on the schedule the rest of the way, so they could end up winning some games.

no need to tank,we will be favored only against the skins, bengals and giants.
Possibly also against the Eagles when they play in Dallas, and there is even a chance they could be favored against the Vikings in Minnesota depending on how things go. The Vikes are only 1-5 right now. Outside of the Steelers and SF it's a pretty weak schedule.

I know an earlier post was joking, but I’ve seen several fans suggest we trade Cooper. It’s so easy to over value guys who are #2 and #3, drawing single coverage or zone with no safety over the top. You cannot over value a true #1 WR like Cooper.
  • Look what we were before Cooper
  • Look what has happened in Minnesota after trading Stefon Diggs....and
  • Look what has happened in Buffalo after getting their #1 (Diggs)

There are always lots of fans who prefer losing and a better draft position unless a Super Bowl contender.
Yes, the NFC East is currently an embarrassment with three teams under new coaches, along with lots of injuries. Still, I’ll go on record now.

Even at 6-8, 7-9, 8-8, I’d rather finish as NFC East Champions with a home field playoff game than be one of the trash teams that couldn’t win in a weak division.
no freaking tank talk..11 games to go is very long time..

Trust me, I know it. Their schedule is easy and Philly is tough. I had them at like 7-9. Im pretty sure the title will come down to who wins head to head phlly/Dallas.

-I agree about the #1 WR, but Lamb will be the new #1.
-What has happened in Minn? That rookie WR is starting to go off almost every week now. Cousins usually starts out slow
-what has happened in Buffalo that has to do with Diggs? It has helped, but to me its more of a maturation of Allen and more of a commitment to pass the ball more.

Im not...…….Ill go on record that I would rather get a top 5-10 pick in the draft then win a useless division title because everyone else sucks more then we do. By the way...……...at 6-10 new would still be a trash team.
I want a defensive star period lol

Its tough to get into the playoffs each year and need to take advantage of the opportunity. Regardless of the situation get in and get a chance at doing something special. Sometimes teams peak at just the right time.

Here's why I am on board for a tank this season when I am usually not:

I truly believe this team is 1-2 defensive playmakers away from being a legitimate SB contender. Tank, spend the draft on the D and be aggressive in FA.

Yeah, it's a "pride" thing -- I get it. But first, I wouldn't necessarily call it tanking -- that implies that we intentionally lost rather than just continually losing because of our own innate ineptness. Second, I am not a proponent of purposefully losing (which I don't think an NFL team would do anyway), but let's just say it wouldn't bother me if we happened to miss the playoffs this year and moved up 15 spots in the draft in the process.

I used my fingers and toes and I'm pretty sure 6-8 isn't possible, but the difference between 6-10 and 7-9 could mean the difference in about 15 draft spots. And BOTH records means we're a bad team. So if we don't make playoffs, oh well....maybe it helps long-term. Of course, this also assumes we draft competently with that higher pick...

There should be no debate. Anyone that wants to lose on purpose is pathetic. Probably never put on a jock!

The only reason you even consider tanking is for a chance at a franchise QB.
Dak Prescotts starting job is chiseled in stone .

They've won divisions and yet are a weak football team that simply can't compete for championships. Going one and done is common place for the Cowboys if they're lucky enough to get in. Even in a crap division. This team needs a serious talent upgrade.
