I don't think they would've no. This organization thought Romo had a few years left.

Defense wins championships yet, how many corners taken in the top 10 have won championships lol?
Comparing apples and oranges, it takes several pieces stop the pass, you have to start somewhere. One good corner can take out the other teams best receiver. A good O line can make any RB productive, we already had a good O line that was relatively young, we didn’t have a good defense.

You could literally say that about any position with the exception of QB. How many RB’s in the past twenty years have been drafted in the top 10 and won a Super Bowl? We could play this game all day.

So you think an above average RB with a most likely short carer is more valuable to winning a championship than an above average CB?

Zeke’s an absolute overrated plodder and apple turnover.

14 fumbles since 2018.

I haven't kept up with this thread but I'm sure it's been 10+ pages of Zeke lovers who spent the whole day trying so hard to defend their guy only for him to come up short tonight so far!

Elliott sucks!! Really what a stupid pick. Jerry just saw jersey sales. That dictates every move he makes.

Coming up short is an understatement. He flat out sucks and is clearly a man not dedicated to his craft. But, thats what happens when you appease disgruntled players.

Hell I would have taken Ramsey and Myles Jack. That’s what I wanted and hated our picks. Stacked OL and probably the best shot at a SB...we draft a RB and a guy who can’t play. Just awful.

Absolutely agree. I wanted Ramsey all the way. We had a good oline and we could have selected a RB in the 2nd or 3rd round. We were needing defense badly. I don't know why we took Zeke.

The same reason we needed defense this year, and we chose to let a good DB go to pay a WR.....just to draft another WR in the first round. Oh, and this sub loved it.

How is that working out?

As a college football fan who has watched Alabama just about every week of the Nick Saban era, I have no idea how people viewed Zeke at the 4th overall pick as a better value that Derrick Henry in round 2.

We could’ve had Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady too.....
30 other teams lamenting missing out on great players too. It’s a fools exercise.
Ramsey has already been traded. Would we have paid him?
Zekes playing like crap right now but he has won more games for us than Ramsey would’ve.
Sure, would’ve been nicer to have Ramsey and Henry now but no one was lamenting this in 2016.
The biggest fools exercise right now is imagining we’d be any better than 2-4 with those two vs what we have. When the rest of the team and coaching staff is among the leagues worst....two players wouldn’t have changed that.
We need a full rebuild.

I'm not sure Zeke can even run 60 yards at this point. Maybe if we filled the Salvation Army kettle full of pot he might break one for the first time in years.

He had two back to back runs for 18 yards and asked to be subbed out.

Let's lower that bar to 40.

I do....saw Henry after watching Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, etc flame out in the league and Henry ran similarly.
Honestly, Henry seemed like yet another RB from Alabama that ran behind a NFL-caliber OL and rolled up tons of yards. It was like taking a QB from OU....the success almost never translated. Turns out, he WAS different though.
I think some players from some programs get unfairly compared all the time. People saw Dak and probably thought Tebow....wildly successful running QB whose game wouldn’t translate. Turns out that wasn’t fair and Dak went fourth round late. One of many reasons the draft is an art and Kiper isn’t any better than half the board members here. Lol.

90% of NFL RB’s would have had similar or better success as zeke under the same circumstances and he only shows up in about half of the big games. Only dumb teams draft a RB in the top 10.

When you have one of the best O lines in the league you don’t need a top RB, zeke has been exposed. Maybe he should watch some film of Barkley, as well as some of his fans, to gain some appreciation of what it’s it like to run behind a horrible O line and you’ll also understand why Barkley “dances” around so much when there’s nowhere to run.
