if we are 2-6 or 3-5 by mid season, I would advocate for Danucci. I would like to know if there is potential to make him a back up next year or do we have to waste dollars and roster spot for another QB. plus, it would help us get to that top 10 pick and get an impact defensive player.

I would love that too, but you know Jerry will never do it. Maybe Dalton will get hurt behind this Oline.

not wishing injury on anyone...but Dalton may not need to get hurt. I don't think he is able to lead this team with the kind of offense we need to stay in games.

Giants, Washington are the only futile teams on the schedule really where we may not need to have a basketball score to win the games.

Agreed...…….but with LVE and Lee coming back that could improve the linebackers. Get a few other guys healthy and this defense could improve. And with the cake walk schedule we have and the NFC East situation it would be hard for us to NOT make the playoffs.

oh I agree, in this division, whoever sucks less will make the playoffs. its not about being good. but I don't much care about just making the playoffs and hanging our hat on it....its what we can do in the playoffs. and I hold no hope, so one and done and a pick in the 20s, instead of a pick in top 10 or 15.....I rather have the top 10 pick at this point.

just being realistic, but some call it negative.....there is no cinderalla turn around for this team, based on evidence.

These guys think we've forgotten their behavior was the same when he was only making $465k a year. If Dak getting paid was really the driving force behind their criticisms of Dak and now Dalton is going to get the benefit of the doubt because he provides value at $3 million this year, these guys should have been head over heels happy with the value Dak provided at $465k/year. They were not. The hatred has been the same since 2016 and it's dishonest for these guys to claim so.

I know a few posters didn't have a problem with Dak but just don't want the team to invest that much into one player and I can respect that opinion. But those posters are the exception to what has occurred, not the rule.
Dalton is not really getting the benefit of the doubt. We are just happy to have anybody starting but a Dak. If you look at the win-loss record instead of stats, it is easy to see why we want Dak gone. The more Dak throws, the more games they lose. This season was going down the toilet anyway, but Dalton might change that.

The strength of opponents shifts year to year and even during the season. Teams weren't keen on playing the Cowboys in 2015 until Romo broke his collarbone, then it was easy pickens with Weeden and Cassel at quarterback.

Other teams have their own injured players who may be coming back, some of the "cake walk" games could turn out to much tougher. And no guarantees Dallas won't have more injuries, if fact this year it's a pretty sure bet.

But really I don't want to make the playoffs if it's only because they had an easy schedule, sure anything can happen in the playoffs but barring a lot of blowout wins over the "easy" teams, or beating every "tough" team on the schedule, like the Steelers and Ravens, making the playoffs would just result in an (another) embarrassing early playoff loss.

But it will be what it will be, I'll watch regardless...

Now why can't more people just be honest like this?

And, BTW, the excuses for Dalton have already been made by Dak haters, like taking his first snaps on a new team with no preseason.

the more dak throws the more we lose? how did you come up with that?

teams often like to run, when you start to throw more, its often a sign of being behind.

although you clearly trying to pin wins/losses on Dak. but the wins/losses are on the coach and GM. they put the team together and Dak can only control the offense and the offensive output. there is no denying of the offensive output despite the limitations in coaching over the past few years.

and seemingly a lot of Dak detractors are putting all thier eggs in Dalton basket....so lets wait and see how he does before they all count their chickens.....you know how the saying goes....

The salary comparison is a joke. Dak is not ten times better than Dalton, even at this stage of Dalton’s career. When Dalton was in his prime, his numbers were almost identical to Dak’s numbers and the numbers have been posted here several times. If you compare the salaries, Dalton is a much better economical investment, even at this stage of his career. People seem to forget that all of Dak’s stats had led to one win this season which shows that his stats are not translating into wins. If you can’t recognize that Dak’s stats consist of garbage time stats, then maybe you can recognize that his stats has not produced wins, this season or last season.
Just for laughs, where did you get your 10x better based off salary conclusion?

Its just sad...……..In a year we will probably win 6 or 7 games we wont even benefit because the NFC East is so bad. Pathetic.

Yep, I'm keeping watch on this. The haters are getting everything they wanted. And to think Dalton is a better option just illustrates the insane hatred.
2020 has been nuts and this makes things even nuttier.

Dalton did good in the giants game, but the next 3 games will tell the story on him.
This next game will be his first game as a cowboy , and aside from last game he hasnt played since end of 2019.
it should take a couple of games to get acclimated .
Good thing is he should be warmed up by the phil game.

Main thing is for him to avoid mistakes, not set the world on fire passing, and my doubts are with kellen and mm, and what
they come up with as far as game plans, and running the ball more.

and I will add is it silly to compare dak and dalton, they both have pros and cons, just support
the one playing.

Hopefully Dalton can have a Jim Plunkett type of resurgence in his career.

I wish all the best for Dak still i am happy we finally have a starting caliber QB.

Cowboys averaged 15.4 points in the first half this season, despite leading the NFL in turnovers.

They've got 3 points halfway through the 3rd quarter tonight. Sure glad we've got a "starting caliber QB" now.
