We dont win that game with Dak. Im not saying that as an indictment on Dak but you got the feeling AZ could have scored a lot more if they didnt take their foot off the gas. We probably dont have another 3 wins in our schedule.

Kind of a stupid point isn't it? Averaging 37 points a game its clear that we are definitely in the game with Dak at QB with a chance to win. Personally I felt the Arizona offense sputtered some of the night. That last TD by Drake was a give up TD. Dak easily scores over 30 against the Cardinals.

The trolls will say we don't win. Does it matter. With Dak we have a fighting chance against anyone. With Dalton we don't. That much should be obvious.

Some folks on here didn't think Dalton was a big drop off from Dak. I know this:

I feel like we have a chance to win every time Dak plays. It was clear very early that Dalton is not the answer to any football question except in trivia.

Would we have won tonight? Impossible to say. We have no idea how his absence affected Zeke. One think for certain: Dalton was terrible.

Well for one he’s going to try and throw past 4 yards.

I get your grievances about Dak’s salary, but you should be pointing at #21. He’s the overpaid bum that’s killing this team. Every run he makes he’s leaning so far forward he falls down. He’s lost it. He was my favorite player too, but no more. I have NO idea what’s up with him. Weed? A girl? No clue.....

Oh I’m done with Zeke.

I was anti paying him as well.

I hate the way this team is built.

Team averaged 37 points a game under Dak. And that was with bad Oline play.

Simple math says that is 27 points better than Dalton.

And how many points did they score against the Rams? I believe Dak was the QB in that one.

Too many try to make this about the quarterback. That's kind of my point in starting this thread. The quarterback wouldn't have mattered as far as the final result goes. Too much to overcome.

Would it have been closer? I believe so.

I’ve said this before, the offense is going to have to be perfect and run a track meet to win every week. With Dak, you at least have a chance to run that track meet. Too bad defense wins championships, because if you score 37 and the defense gives up 39 it still goes down as a big fat L. Dalton isn’t going to move this offense in that way. He just isnt that type of QB. It’s not fair and unrealistic to think the O can carry you this much. Even with Dak...

We came out flat....and any energy we had.....went out the window once we started the turnover machine up. McCarthy has to make some people accountable. Honestly...I'd start by benching Elliott...and bringing in a vet RB....like Ajayi. Maybe it gets his attention....I'd be fine going w/ a RB by committee for a while. Heck....the Dowdle kid...@ least he ran hard the final drive.....and hit the hole w/ some authority.

Yeah but i think the OP point us that there are holes everywhere and regardless of who plays QB we cannot win with this roster.

the defense came out and got a bunch of stops and set a good tone for the night. They were not flat at all to start. Martin got a stinger and then a concussion on the second drive. They had bad field position on the second drive and the cardinals played defense downhill...which is what they do. The fumbles killed them.

LOL...…..much closer. 37 points a game under Dak. Night and day. The offense basically went from the #1 offense in football to the worst in football by replacing Dak with Dalton.

Amazing how common sense magically appears when we lose with a QB other than Dak. LOL

We still lose by 2-3 TDs with Dak . Don’t have any illusions. The QB position is not the issue with this team .

Based on what evidence? This team averaged 37 points a game under Dak. And that was with bad Oline play, Zeke fumbles and all.

Dalton was downright horrible tonight. To say Dalton wasn't an issue when the clown lead us to 10 points is laughable.

Cowboys scored only 17 against the rams , despite 100 yards by zeke and no fumble issues . This team issues are not the QB

You dodged the point that we only scored 17 against the Rams with Dak. Of course, I'm not surprised by that.

But the point isn't whether we would have scored 17 or 21 or 31. The point is that it wouldn't have mattered. We can't turn the ball over like that, play defense like that and expect to win. The fact that we have two victories despite those things is only because we played the Giants, who are just as inept and got some bad breaks against us, and the watermelon kick.

Too many want to turn this into a quarterback thing. I started a quarterback thread to see how many realize that's not the problem or at least not our primary one(s).

We’re in that game with Dak, no doubt. The D had lots of stops early. Zeke needed to be benched. His heads not in it right now.

Especially with those early stops, I think we'd have won this game. Dak has the chemistry to get the ball to his teammates.

However, I do think it's fair to say if we're going to play like this, it doesn't help not to have the best QB possible. We likely don't have two victories this season without a QB as good as Dak.

What we likely end up with in this one is more of a heartbreaker. Dak gets us close, within 10 points or whatever, and then the defense gives up the big pass play or big run.
