The DB group is toxic

It’s very evident when you watch film. Other teams have Alpha DB’s that come up and make game changing plays. Look at Budda baker, Antoine Winfield Jr, Matthieu etc...these guys come up make plays and are excellent tacklers in the run game. Go watch Kenyan Drakes TD run and watch Xavier Woods on that play. He is an absolute toxic player. Same with Joudain Lewis, he’s always pouting, Awuzie doesnt even try to come up and make a tackle he runs away from contact. All our DB’s run AWAY FROM CONTACT. Go and watch the film in slow motion. Priority #1 fix that secondary. It will completely change our defense. Our front 7 presses so much because they know the secondary is garbage. There has and never will be a good defense without willing tacklers @ DB.

Worley is terrible.

And Brown frustrates me because he does so many dumb things out there. On a 3rd and 11 in the first half, he has Fitzgerald and he gives him a 12 yard cushion and Fitzgerald runs an out for the first down. Even the color guy pointed out what a bad mistake that was. Brown can run with Fitzgerald so why worry about getting beat deep and just give up an easy first down? We lack talent, and I think brains in the secondary.

Im patient with players but Worley i like the kid but im not sure if he just doesn’t fit the system or he needs a change of scenery but its no way he should be out there

I think hiring all these packers and eagles is bad karma. Al Harris and McCarthy can go choke on a brat at lambeau as far as I am concerned.

The lack of a decent safety is a big hole in the Cowboys defense. We just saw how important the safeties are to a defense tonight. I can live with Awuzie, Brown and Lewis as CBs if we had a couple of safeties that can tackle, support the run game, and make plays in the secondary.

While we talk about the Cowboys 4 turnovers tonight, we are not talking about the fact that the Cowboys go another game without an INT or fumble recovery. The whole point of firing the old defensive coaches was to fix the lack of turnovers, It's worse now.

Yes, I saw Woods miss the play on that long TD run. But at that point they have given up already.

Unfortunately this just means that the 2017 draft can be flushed down the toilet...what a waste. Awuzie, Lewis, and Woods were drafted to be the solution for all of these problems 3 years ago. No progress...we just keep going in a circle every few years when these DBs don't pan out.

This is what happens when this ownership allow the hiring of a DB coach who has NO NFL experience. Right now, Linquist is simply out of his league (So, what's Al Harris' excuse?).

There’s no way I’m blaming the current DB coaches. These bums were drafted in 2017. They’ve never been good and have never been willing tacklers you can’t blame the new staff for having this group of lazy bums to work with. Anthony Brown would be a solid 4th CB. He’s the only one that’s even roster worthy to me. This staff will be judged with Diggs and Robinson.

Anthony Brown? Had a good rookie year. What happened?.

I understand your argument about the DBs being bums. I just feel it wasn't the right time to hire Linquist when Nolan was hired. If Leslie Frazier (Bills) or Don Martindale (Ravens) was on this staff, I would feel differently. Maybe Linquist will have a future eventually.

How is Worley in the league? Legit question

Worley can play physical bump and run coverage against TE’s and larger more possession style receivers. He is adequate in those situations.

his problem is, he is slow and cannot run with faster receivers.

He should not be put into positions where he has to cover faster receivers. And if he is, he needs safety help behind him.

That brings about the next problem. The cowboys safety play is hot trash.

The cowboys safeties suck.

the corners aren’t great either. But they are hamstrung by poor safety play. They have to play off receivers because they are afraid they will get beat deep because they don’t trust the scrubs behind them.

until
We get better safety play. Expect to continue seeing CB’s playing off receivers.

Brown is dumb as a rock, another bad contract by the FO.
