I don’t know if there is a meaningful drop first of all and secondly, if there is I’m not going to arbitrarily blame it on black athletes speaking their minds over and above other potential valid and rational reasons.

If black athletes expressing their opinions on politics and social norms and mores bothers you, then the problem is you, not them.

Why are you assuming my stance comes from a race issue, and not a entertainment issue. Which is what a football game is. White players are doing it, and white commentators.

The forum bothers me, and I don't like when white athletes do it either. They can speak their mind all they want, but the 3 hours they play a football game is not their forum. Their is 165 other hours a week they can do whatever they want. They have social media, can do interviews, and do tv and radio shows. Why is it being forced into games? Why are the commentators doing it.

Who cares what these people think about politics, race relations, or what other social crap they want.

NBA playoff were down 34 percent form last year, that is huge. First 4 games of NFL were down 10 percent

Again my original comment that you responded to was about the salary cap may drop because of viewership. My analysis is because of the B.S. they have been pushing the last couple of years. If you disagree, instead of making it a race issue, what is your reason for the drop

How about COVID?

I am a HUGE NBA fan and the lack of fans in the bubble was a huge turn off for me. The atmosphere was markedly different. I barely watched any games.

There are a myriad of a potentially rational and valid reasons outside of and above black athletes speaking their minds, who have been doing so for decades. Carlos and Smith were called black skinned stormtroopers by Musberger in 1968 while standing on the Olympic medal podium. Did the Olympics disappear because of it?

Give me a break dude..

The NBA and the NFL aren’t going anywhere and this catastrophizing you’re engaging in relative to athletes embracing their favored social causes is ridiculous and in the same vein as Musberger calling Smith and Carlos black skinned stormtroopers. How dare they burst
the sanctity of your sports environment by taking a knee or opening their mouths to say anything other than sports related conversations!!!

Thing is, you don’t mind the sanctity of your sports environment being disrupted for military jingoism or nationalistic orgasmic displays of pride. What the hell does that have to do with sports? But it doesn’t bother you, does it? So why the double standard?

But those damn players saying something I don’t like...

Again, the problem is you..

fake news

Dak and everyone else put us in the position to lose prior, idgad about the 4th quarter stats. Cowboys could have easily been in a 16/20-17 game in the 4th quarter, but flat out mistakes on our part and the officials flipped that score into their favor. This doesn't even count on what ifs for other failed drives, just talking about turnovers and giving up the easiest TDs in the 2nd half.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Dak only produced stats in the fourth quarter!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAA!!

We lose games going down to the wire with a chance to win every damn game we’ve been in this year engaged in hella entertaining shootouts with Dak at the helm but ITS HIS FAULT we lost and Dak sucks!!

Yet when we get road stomped at home 38-10 with Dalton looking like the epitome of an incompetent bus driver in directing only one touchdown drive, which consisted of 18 plays and three PI penalties, the game was REALLY and ACTUALLY a lot closer than the score indicated!!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

OMG, you must feel so stupid after last night!! This post shows you’ve descended completely into the rabbit hole and have come out sipping tea with the Mad Hatter in Wonderland!

Ahahahahahahahahahahaaha!!

They did it during the cowboys game last night. They did like a 30 sec shot on hopkins and his relatives and pushed the social issue that is currently being pushed, and hero crap.

Which is great for him, that would make a great magazine article. Why is it in monday night football during a horrible broadcast
I know what you're talking about but that was 30seconds. Why don't you just say you don't like the topic instead of hiding behind social issues? There are things I don't agree with but since the majority of the times its just something quick as you yourself admitted it isn't no big deal. If people on all sides stop living in their bubble worlds they'd be better off to let certain things just be without making a fuss over small things. You can obviously do what you chose I'm just saying things like that are so quick its not worth speaking on IMO.

Before it was about level of play now it's about the record. Thing is Dak done his job and others haven't, like you said check the record it's only worst now
Exactly this team is crap up and down, just because dak throws garbage points and yards I’m suppose to adhere to the idea he is wayyyy better then Dalton. In my eyes Dalton did well, he played with urgency And got rid of the call quick.

Sorry, it strikes me as fundamental madness and cap suicide to pay a 100m+ (35+ per) to QB that has won nare a playoff game. Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Mahomes, Wilson sure. They have reputations and have proven themselves.

Once you devote that much of your cap to the QB position YOU HAD BETTER GET IT RIGHT because that cap percentage is going to limit your ability to stockpile talent elsewhere.
We had years of him on a 4th round tender and did nothing with it. Thats the time you win. QBs take years to develop and only a few can singlehandedly take a team to the SB before their 4th year. Is he a top 4 QB? Not currently but he has improved each year and this year he was overcoming a terrible defense, bad coaching and 20 pt deficits with a patchwork OL.

It is a big deal. Because they are pushing an agenda. People tune in for a football game, and little by little they force it in. What is leads to is people like the guy I was having a conversation with. I was making an observation on ratings dropping and that it may have an effect on the salary cap ( which is a football issue), and the reasons I think they are dropping. And he turned it into a race thing, and me not likeing black people speaking their minds. When that was not the intent. That is what it leads too. Little by little it is being forced in over all forms of media, and is pushing an agenda, and you can see it and hear it in conversations.

I stand by, that people do not like it, and that is why ratings are going down. They are going down for a reason

I don't dislike the topic. If it is a true story, it would make an awesome magazine article or independent broadcast (radio/tv). I like history.

Excellent post.

Plus they have to show me that they can draft and make player personnel moves without a cap restraint (even more so with Covid hovering over team's heads) before we take up a lot of the cap with the QB. I think we should sign Dak but it simply cannot be commensurate with Mahomes.

It was terrible but It was Daltons first start. Have no choice but to be patiently optimistic he’ll get better with reps.

How about keeping politics out of sports altogether since people turn to sports get away from all of that mess.
