Is Anyone Else Apathetic To This Franchise?

I just drink a lot of Whiskey on game days. Canadian Club in case anyone is wondering. This team is probably literally killing me.
I prefer bourbon, scotch, gin, vodka, rum, tequila, cordials, wine and beer and I can't honestly blame that on the team. Bad, good or indifferent, I am getting my daily quota regardless.

If your last sentence is remotely true, you need a new team or sport cuz this just ain't that important.

It's all in the approach. I get my libations and snacks all lined up, select what cigars I will honor and say to the TV "OK, I am ready to enjoy myself and I intend to do that regardless of what you do on the field today. What you do is on you, as for me, what I do is for me. Play ball".

Absolutely!

Late 90s I was full emotion

early 2000s full meltdowns

mid 2000s ups and downs

Currently I don’t give a damn.. still a fan but honestly don’t care.

The further I get away from my playing days, the less emotion I have invested into the game. Maybe that's not such a bad thing. I mean, the game is really for the young and there is no question of that. Having said this, I do worry about the younger generation and if there will be enough passion over the game to protect it and take it forward, over the long term.

I do care about that.

It's been a shocking and unexpectedly bad year. But it's not a bad as it is for others.

When I listen to the two Jones speaking about their confidence in the team to turn it around and connecting success this year with playing in what may be the worst collective division performance of all time, I step off the merry-go-round.

The team has long been a joke and it stinks from the head.

These clowns still think they actually have a shot? Hilarious! Never any long term game plan to fix this mess. And this is a mess. Top to bottom. They'll never get it.

I'd say it's more amused lurking than apathy. At least for me. If the Dallas Cowboys and Cowboys Zone ceased to exist tomorrow.

I would just think. Well. Nothing lasts forever. And move on.

But that's not going to happen. People enjoy watching Rome burn year over year. So the Cowboys are worth keeping around for the ratings if nothing else.

Not jumping ship. Not hating them. Still a fan but just apathetic to their games. You don't get excited for wins and don't sulk over losses. It has been happening for me over the past few years. Once the game is over, I turn off the tv, don't listen to any post game shows. I post on here a little and then they are out of my mind. I move on. Win or lose. There is no hope in sight for this franchise at all.

I don't think I will ever stop watching completely and I definitely won't root for another team.

I was just thinking this. I thought maybe because 2020 has been such a weird year or maybe Im just getting older 43. If they win Im happy if they lose it sucks but not like it use too.

What does that mean "it's just a game"? Explain your cliche.

Its entertainment in all actuality. All wins or loses do is give us bragging rights over other fans and a momentary escape from all of our reality.

Apathy is a lack of interest. Doesn't being here indicate interest?

Not spending money is a better indication of indifference imo. I haven’t spent a dime on the Cowboys for well over a decade. I’ve only been to one game at the new stadium and my buddy payed for it.

The forum is like an AA meeting for recovering Cowboys addicts.

For the first time in my 56 years of fandom I don't know where to begin with fixing this mess. I was watching hard knocks and I was won over by Sean McVay Not him personally, but I thought I WOULD PLAY FOR THIS GUY!
So I'm saying this group of coaches were a bad hire, which at the time I was OK with. Kudos to the guys who warned us
So begin with finding the right HC and we'll start again

Completely and utterly apathetic. The once bright star is burning out.

Lack of interest is lack of interest. If you used to spend money and no longer do, but still watch games and/or seek out a website to participate in conversations about the team, that may indicate less interest than you once had, but not a lack of interest altogether.

Here's why I can't go there anymore: the owner puts himself before the team. He's admitted he would've fired himself long ago - the entire house needs cleaned. But it won't happen because he'd rather lose his way than win another way.

It's his team, he can do what he wants. I don't have to spend money on it, I don't have to defend it, and I certainly don't feel like I owe Jerry Jones my undying loyalty just because I loved Staubach and Emmitt Smith.

We're basically waiting for Jerry and Stephen to get smarter, because they're still going to make the decisions. Is that logical? Jerry is almost 80 and Stephen has only worked under Jerry. Good luck with that plan.

This team isn't going anywhere, anytime soon. Fire anyone you want underneath the Joneses - it doesn't matter. I'm just sticking around for old time's sake but my emotional and financial investments are over.
