I used to be a school principal and eventually a superintendent, retired now. I once became principal of a school where too many staff members did not want to make some changes that were needed to improve our performance. My first year there was not a pleasant experience.

But I stuck to the plan we had and after about a year, most of the disgruntled people left and I was able to hire some new people that bought in to what we needed to do and we got better.

Sometimes when a new leadership team comes in, some people that have been there don’t want to change or adapt and become passive aggressive rather than supporting new leadership. I suspect that’s the case in the Cowboys locker room now. I don’t know if Big Mac is a good fit in Big D or not, but I still don’t think he’s had enough time to implement his style and system. He may not ultimately work out, but like any new leader who comes in, there may be some resistance to the change he’s trying to implement.

I would also bench Zeke and give him spot duty and start Pollard. If he doesn't perform I'd give his carries to Dowdle if Pollard needs a rest.

You guys worship Aaron Rodgers who completely trashed McCarthy's play calling, and you want to him to have play calling duties now?

What you say here is totally true. But if McCarthy can hopefully be fired anyway, by him becoming the primary playcaller, that would leave no other excuse as to why he shouldn't be fired.
Couldn't blame it on Kellen then.

One thing is it starts at practice and guys who are not showing max effort would be riding the bench and let them know we will try to move them out of here as soon as possible. Right now I would rather have a scrub giving me everything he has than a vet player half asrs it.

This forever bro. The unfortunate reality is that there is this we'll pay you well and do it our way business side that the Jones promote. As a result, their sunk costs and lack of return on investment that they made by giving out undeserved contracts keeps them from biting the bullet as you describe here and just cutting all these second contract cancers.

Forward thinking pro active Front Offices whose goal is winning on the field would eat these costly contract mistakes for the sake of the team's future.

The Jones dont do that because that may imply that they were wrong. They do not admit wrongs too often. And when they do it's usually far too late to recover from the damage created.

Egotistical pride of 2 Non Football Men running the show.
It doesn't require a fortune teller anymore to see that this organization will continue as it always has.

Enjoy the historical success. It's all you can go off of at this point.

The near and distant future of this franchise is not set up for competitive on field excellence so as Jerry so aptly put it, if you haven't already for the past 25 years...lol

Its time to give your Sunday pregame speech before we hit the filed for the Washing game. Anonymous hasn't come forward. What do you say to this team? Me:

Okay guys, Let's get some things out of the way.
Anybody don't know their assignments, raise your hand.

Raise your hand if you're not prepared to play.

Anybody feel like they didn't get enough coaching this week?

By the lack of hands, I'd say we all know our assignments, we're all prepared, and we feel adequately coached. And just so we're clear, I'm not going to pick up a paper and see some Anonymous a$$bag making some chickensh!* comment about not being prepared, not being given assignments, and not be coached.

For those of you who slept through meetings and are just joining the program we're playing the 1-5 Washington Football Team.

If i were MM i would retire again.

that is assuming the players in question are high paid. Woods isn't and his comment about you can go all out every play bring him into question. Way I was taught you go all out until the whistle blows and when offense takes the field you go get a breather on the side line.

So true.
When the Second Contract Syndrome aka I've been paid and now I'll coast virus spreads to the likes of Woods who questions why to give max effort all the time...
Let's just say there is a whole lot more deeper problems with this team than even the obvious ones.

Another thread title that talked about this kinda stuff was called Culture and there have been numerous others regarding that foreign Cowboys word, accountability.

Rip them a new one and cut a couple of guys. Poe and Crawford come to mind and the secondary player that said he doesn't hustle every play.
That's not what he said, he said he couldn't go at 100% energy level every play. He did a poor job of saying what he meant but that's the reason Elliott takes himself out, he knows when he's not at his 100% level.

I get you Bob. The disruption of the current culture is endangering a few disgruntled players who have enjoyed the JG atmosphere. I don't know if Big Mac can change it without Uncle Jerry keeping his nose out of it. And we all that's not the way he works.

Michael said these exact words "Man up". I wouldn't tolerate it any player that I got word was trashing the Coaches would be shown the door.
I want guys that come to play and take responsibility for their play. I know guys like Heath was not the best but that attitude and hussle means
more to me than guys that get paid, get fat and lay down.

Did the Coaches all meet my satisfaction absolutely not via Mike Nolan but these players are paid to play at their highest level if they are not doing it they will be gone and
replaced. They should support whoever is coaching them. PERIOD.

Honestly, I would ignore this and address the team as I had in the past. I would not let them know this bothers me, we have more important business.

The majority, and I would guess a large majority, of his players are still on his side. They know they can win the division and now that is the most important objective so eyes on the prize and everything else is unimportant.

It is unfair and unproductive to address the team as if it's filled with traitors. All of the eyes that still believe and want to right the ship are looking his way for direction. Ignore those not on board and they will real themselves through their level of effort.

If he goes off on the team as a whole, is he not what the traitor says he is?
