I'll just leave this article about the end of McCarthy's time in Green Bay here ... for those who doubt what the players are saying MIGHT have some validity

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2828649-what-happened-in-green-bay

That really wasnt all on Mike, Aaron who is a thinks he is all that a know it all and his crap dont stink had a hand into causing rifts in the locker room.
MM has given control over the offense to KM and thats a good thing. Its the DEFENSE and his hire of Nolan that isnt popular with the players. Nolan has become the Linehan of this defense. I doubt that they will fire Mike especially with all the injuries that we have but Nolan is slowly putting the nails in his coffin. To be fair Nolan has never had a top defense and at his hire we didnt have the personal to play this type of defense. Thats why the hiring was questionable. If we were in a rebuild year I could have seen this hire not when you had so much going on for you offensively. Then you throw in Covid and what do you have cluster crapola. The part that is even more confusing is why bring in and sign 4-3 type of defensive players KNOWING they dont fit Nolans scheme?? None of this makes any sense as a well run team.
Either we get rid of the players that dont fit his scheme or we get rid of the Coach. Until then fasten your seat belts its going to be a very bumpy ride.

Did ya watch DLaw and Crawford, they were running in circles, they didn't have a clue...I can see them moaning, It's the Coaches...

And it seemed before nearly every play, there were dbs or lbs looking at each other like "what do we do?". On the NFL network Jeff Saturday, a well-respected NFL player, saying that the defense the Cards were playing was very simple, should be easy to block defenders like Baker, but the line was totally confused.

So it's not just the defense that didn't have a clue.

I didn't pay much attention at the time, first of all because I had nothing to do with or about it, but also because coaches come and go all the time, nothing unusual there. But checking today, I see more reason why things are in such a mess, as regards coaches, to wit:

1. Rob Davis - Assistant head coach

Davis joins the Cowboys as assistant head coach on the behest of McCarthy, and that's a hefty title he's landed -- having no previous experience whatsoever as a coach in any capacity, or at any level of any sport.

2. Maurice Linguist - Secondary
...this will be Linguist's first time in the NFL...

Two key positions filled with novice NFL coaches, that can't be good, especially with Moore, himself pretty green....

Just heard Shannon Sharpe (bashing will come soon on this board) say....."You can learn more about your players in losing, than you will in winning." I'll add....."If you have coaches doing the same thing that's not working or everyone knows what you're doing in sniffed out routinely, You ain't coaching, take the damn headset off."

i understand the mindset of players becoming divas. but i'd at least prefer they accomplish something first. the hotboyz have never been anything more than an underachieving group of whiners and crybabies.

Agree.

Our Assistant HC isn't even a coach.

Lots of twitter pressure coming on Tank/Jaylon, ya'll think it's one of them?
yes. Its either Jaylon or Xavier Woods. Both do nothing spoiled brats and "garrett right kind of guys." ..I expect MM and Nolan came in here trying to change attitudes/culture/mindsets and they simply are not on board because taht would mean they have to give 100% to football. They have NEVER EVER been all about honing their craft. Need proof? Go look at their twatter comments and post game interviews. Its all about their stupid platform and side ventures. THEY NEED GONE. Addition by subtraction. START ALL THE DRAFTEES FROM 2020.

I’m 0% surprised. McCarthy is literally Garrett without Jason’s redeemable qualities like being a player’s coach and motivational speaker. Most GB fans wanted him out and will tell you the only reason he won a SB is because he had prime Aaron Rodgers.

Yes the players need to step up and be held accountable, but that’s literally a coaches job - to hold them accountable. To create a culture and an atmosphere where the players do their jobs, respect each other and know exactly what’s expected of them day in and day out. To play a smart game and not make stupid mistakes. To make informed football decisions that outsmart the other team and set the team up for victory. To hire competent coordinators and position coaches. To light a fire in your players to play for themselves and each other. That’s the formula behind successful teams across the NFL. You can’t just walk in somewhere, throw a bunch of athletes together, say “have at it, you know what to do” and call it a team.

This regime is just a continuation of what we’ve had for the past decade plus. Comfortable, complacent and underperforming.

Knocked it right out of the park with this man. Fantastic Job.
And your description of success as applied to both this HC and all of this staff...

Well, let's just say I think all of them have been on massage therapy breaks as his GB example attests.

Nothing has changed nor will it under this regime.

Hated The Process and hated Right Kind of Guys.

Now I'm sticking with the new Jerry Team motto. Adjust Your Expectations.

Mine just never changed.

.

Rob Davis' role is to be Big Mac's eyes and ears and enforcer in the locker room.

A long time, long snapper in Green Bay, he is on staff to protect Big Mac from any and all criticism.

https://totalpackers.com/2015/11/bob-mcginn-rips-packers-new-*******-is-right-to/

In Green Bay, Big Mac had both Davis and his long time Assistant Head Coach (and coach of the perennially underperforming linebackers) Winston Moss around to protect his interests.

Moss was such ****** within the organization that when Mac's buddy Joe Philbin took over on an interim basis after Big Mac was fired in December of 2018 one of his first acts was to shitcan Moss. (Where did Philbin end up by the way?)

https://www.packersnews.com/story/s...n-moss-firing-more-fit-than-tweet/2215614002/

And it is worth noting that Big Mac's long time Assistant Head Coach Moss in GB was so highly thought of in NFL circles that the next job he landed was as LA's head coach and GM ... that is GM and Head Coach of the LA Wildcats of the XFL.

Continues to confuse me that when you show up citing specific links and context as to who this HC truly is, that there is such lack of response to how obvious the train wreck of a hire this truly was.

People believe what they wanna believe and wanted a JG change so bad and all..

But I mean how much more do you got to show to convince these people?

Again, I for one appreciate your contributions and rest a little more assured in knowing my initial disagreement with this hire is more justified with every story that seems to follow.

I’ve been surprised how many people in the DFW area are saying they’re done with the Cowboys until some real change happens.

For our fans who don’t live in the Dallas area, I’ve lived in the Dallas-FW metroplex all but 3 of my 62 years. I’ve been a Cowboys fan since I was 6. I’ve never seen or heard more venom for Jerry and his kids than the last few weeks. People here are sick of this S show. There’s real “Jones Fatigue”. My 86 year old father, who’s been a Cowboys fan since 1960, said he won’t watch Cowboys games any more.

Don’t know what it’s like outside this area, but the sports radio stations in Dallas are on fire with anti-Jones rhetoric. Because people here know exactly why this thing sucks. It’s the doings of the fool in the owner’s box.
I can only speak for myself, but we're a laughing stock out of the market too.

Most of my friends are Panthers fans and even they are laughing at me. Their team at least tries. I'm also on a Slack channel with all the guys in my fantasy football league and every day I wake up to a new meme making fun of us. I used to get furious and defensive and upset, but all you can do at this point is laugh.

Thanks for the info.
As far as Moss goes, if he's only there to be MM's eyes and ears, then he's useless as far as helping the team win, same as if he was in an actual coach's position and responsible for coaching the players...

This is true but w/o preseason games, they didn't get a chance test system against live competition until the regular-season started it.
It's why some were saying the first 4 regular-season games were like preseason.
Yup

Man you might want to reevaluate what a fact is. What you said is not a fact
Elliot has had more fumbles and touchdowns the last two seasons. Maybe you better check your stats

The players would have more credibility if they actually hustled and tried. Bad coaches will eventually get exposed.

To get blown off the line, zero hustle, poor tackling, and an inability to understand the new play scheme falls on them. Players got sucked into the cowboys entertainment/ entitlement/ no discipline culture for far to long. When **** hits the fan of course they going to cry

The last two seasons Elliotts had more fumbles than touchdowns and that is a fact

Ignorance and agenda on full display. Lol so this season 6 TDs 5 fumbles. Last season 14 TDs 3 fumbles. You might want to go check your facts. Or are you using a new kind of fact? Lol

Usually when a player speaks out like this, its THE PLAYER .not the staff, that is the main issue. Ask Bill Parcells. He agrees with this. He said you can't win with guys like that. I agree. Gotta get the old Garrett culture loyalists out of there. They had it easy and when MM came to town he wanted to change that and they are fighting this tooth and nail. This happens alot anytime there is a coaching regime change and complete overhaul. MM is caught betwix and between in an oddball position/year. He never had a fair chance to sort the team out like he wanted. I think he deserves a mulligan in year 1. THAT SAID, the caveat is...we must see some kind of trend upward on the way tp 2021. If we do not see discernable improvement as time goes, he very well could be let go this year or step down. Dallas is a huge pressure cooker to coach in and has left many a coach in its wake. MM was in an obscure sports market in GB for many years where all the focus wasn't on he and the team. He could put his nose down and work without anyone noticing. NOT SO MUCH HERE. I am not sure he can adjust to this to be honest. It could be a bad fit. Time will tell.
