They placed their other DE on IR. Looks like they are tanking for Lawrence now.

Minnesota Vikings trade DE Yannick Ngakoue to Baltimore Ravens

Yannick Ngakoue made plenty of offseason noise in order to receive his freedom from the Jaguars in August, and after a quiet start in his new home, he's again on the move.

The Minnesota Vikings are trading Ngakoue to the Baltimore Ravens, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported. Minnesota will receive a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional fifth-round pick in 2022, per Pelissero.

The Vikings sent a 2021 second-round pick and a 2022 conditional fifth-rounder to the Jaguars for the then-disgruntled Ngakoue less than two weeks before the start of the season. Just six games into that same season, Minnesota has pulled the plug on Ngakoue, shipping him east to Baltimore where he'll join his former fellow Jaguars teammate Calais Campbell.

So they ended up trading what will very likely be a high second rounder for what likely will be a low 3rd rounder. Man that looks rough. Think its a nice move by the Ravens though even if he is just a one-year rental just because if he leaves you likely get a 3rd round comp so effectively if he leaves they traded 6-9 spots in the 3rd to have an all pro pass rusher for the season.

Apparently Yannick is interested in resigning with Baltimore because he's got roots in DMV area and wanted to be there all along. That Baltimore has been trying to trade for him several times throughout the offseason and now they get the deal done. He's actually having a good season and now he's on a contender. And can be unleashed. Rich get richer I guess.

Well sure. They're competing directly with the Chiefs and Steelers for an AFC championship. Same thing Tampa is doing in the NFC.
