Would you trade a 2nd round pick for Quinnen Williams?

Teams don't just trade high 1st round draft picks for less than 1st round picks for fun. There's no way this cat should be available, and if he is, there is something majorly wrong.
Thats why the Cowboys would need to have some quality intel to make this move. Could also be a poor organizational move on NY's part

I want to know why he's available?

This is the question I have, and is the most important question right now. Why would a player of his talent be traded in the 2nd year of his rookie deal and not be worth a first? It doesn't make sense unless he's not the impact player they thought he'd be. That would explain it.

Don't know much about him, why would the Jets be looking to trade a young player who is good?

He does only have 4 career sacks. However he had 2 as a rookie, and 2 so far this year

Since you might live New York can you give quick scouting report on him?

i do like here. But I don’t focus in on Jets games. But most of my close friends are Jets fans. They were definitely concerned with him last year but this year he’s been coming on and had been more disruptive. Only issue is he’s probably more of a 3 tech. And we really need somebody that can plug the run.

I just like adding talent.

I may trade them a second round pick for this Alabama reject if the Jets agree to take Poe, Griffen, and Crawford off our hands and eat their contracts. I will throw in Lawrence if possible under the cap. Don’t know what the dead money hit would be for a Lawrence trade. I’m serious.

The Jets unloaded some other reject (Leonard Williams?) on the Giants for a 3rd rounder and I don’t think he has done squat except collect a lot of money for nothing and chicks for free. That ain’t working, that’s the way you do it.

Why do the Jets want to trade him? As a matter of fact why do the Jets seem to want to get rid of all of their high drafted players.

well given our history with 2nd round draft picks might as well grab player now use him for 9 games and see if hes the answer, hes got to be better then Hill and we used a 2nd on him.

so why the heck now..YES

caveat is i doubt they let him go for a 2 and im not buyer any higher..

You live in the area. Maybe you're not into the local sports radio.

Other than a few plays here and there, he is considered a full bust so far.

That said, it may take him time to develop and maybe NY isnt his thing....but anyone dealing for him is taking a risk, especially if the price is a second rounder....likely to be a top 5-10 one at that.

He would have to dramatically improve to be worth that price.

Theres plenty of very high picks that bust. It happens. Especially by teams like the Jets.

I think too many are falling in love with his draft status.

Leonard Williams was considered the best DT in that draft. Some had him as the best PLAYER in that draft at the time.

He has been ok, not great and was dealt for a 3rd and 4th, which was a steal for them.

Given his draft status, he is a bust.

They also selected Dee Millner in the top 10. I believe he was flat out cut.

If Dallas offers a top ten 2nd rounder for QWilliams now they would take it and run.

He is worth maybe a 3rd to a team who knows they are making the playoffs and thinks they can fix him.

But he is very much headed for bustville.

Otherwise you dont go dealing your recent #3 overall pick, you build around him.

He’s only on year 2 of his rookie deal. A top 10 talent. This wouldn’t be a quick fix deal. You’re getting a premium talent at a position of need.

Right, and maybe he alone can't be the fix. But getting LVE back last week. Gregory is available to play now. Awuzie and Lee will be back soon.
And Brown came back last week or so. That accumulation could help a heck of a lot.

They, unlike us, are actually in a rebuild mode. We don't have to be in a rebuild mode, like many on here want, or think we should do.
However they can rebuild some areas, and this could be a start.

All the "No's" are shocking. Absolutely. Would instantly be our best run stopper on a team that can't stop the run and he's dirt cheap for 3 years

Maybe the Washington Whatchamacallits will trade for him and make it six 1st round picks on the DL. Add to their collection of first round defensive linemen.

Giants could go to the well again and add another DL Jet bust to pair with Leonard Williams. Come on, Jason, sweet talk your boss into doing it.

Make deadline deals when you're a player away.

This team is not in that situation.

Also most of you dont seem to be accounting for the reason he is available to begin with.

This is different though. This is a 22 year old defensive end who’s still on his rookie deal for a few more years. You have to ask yourself if I go into next years draft will I get a player this good in the 2nd or 3rd round? This is for the future not just the now.

Absolutely. There isn't a better DT in the 2021 draft class and a 2nd round pick would be a steal. Williams is disruptive in the middle and he would allow the other Cowboys DTs to make plays. He would also free up the LBs.

If all the Jets want is a 2nd round pick I would give them a call today. Williams is young. He has a lot of years ahead of him. But, I don't see why the Jets would trade him for just a 2nd round pick. What's the problem?
