Who here was fooled?

I don't see how anyone was fooled by the outcome of this season. Dallas had one of the worst defenses last year. And they came back with even less defensive talent this year. Dallas defense has been trash against the Run for years. Dallas linebackers are small and can't get off blocks. Dallas has had one of the worst secondaries in the league with a glaring hole at safety over the last five years. And Dallas is stuck with a idiot general manager who does not go for NEW talent such as Urban Meuer. No he brings in a retreaded coach that no one else wanted. Another yes man who won't stand up to him.

Urban Meyer is a brilliant, driven coach who will do anything to win. And he is most certainly not a Yes Man who will bow down to someone with inferior football iq. So with all these negatives how can anyone think this was our year. Every year I read these Dallas Cowboys forums and every year some delusional fan thinks Dallas is going to win the Super Bowl or make a deep playoff run.

Count me as fooled. I wanted Urban Meyer but didn’t hate MM. I saw it as a big improvement. I never liked the Nolan hire but thought Edwards would help there.

I will also say I blame Jerry’s country club culture and the players more.
Jerry always thinks he's the smartest person in the room, and he may be, but he's the dumbest football person in the room. Most wanted Meyer, but of course Jerry had to go do something different because, well he's got a big yacht.

I'm in the fooled camp. In August I was pretty confident the playoffs were a shoe in. Dang...

I’m one to admit when I was wrong and I must admit I thought we had a real shot this year but damn this is a real **** show. Injuries are one thing that we can’t control but McCarthy and his staff has been a huge disappointment. I was wrong!
The players are unprofessional and most should be released and never allowed to play in the NFL again.

I don't think any of us saw this coming or could have predicted it. Fredbeard retiring, Collins not showing up, Tyron Smith getting injured early, LVE injury, Awuzie injury, Dak injury, and defense not even trying.

I saw the decline of Lawrence like others. I did not see the big drop-off for Jaylon Smith this year.

Back to the drawing board and we'll do it all over again.

Count me in. I had high expectations and believed MM was the correct choice to turn this thing around. I thought we would have less turnovers and less penalties like his previous stint in GB. I figured he would bring discipline, focus and accountability.

Majorly disappointed thus far.

Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, nor Dabo can fix this.

Dallas defense has been trash against the Run for years.

2019- 4.1 ypc- 12th
2018- 3.8 ypc- 4th
2017- 4.1 ypc- 16th
2016- 3.9 ypc- 8th

2020- 5.2 ypc- 31st

They were never worse than middle of the pack before. What you're seeing now is trash.

Talk about no accountability - you have hit the nail with a sledgehammer.

Yup, and the poster boy for the Front Office creating this toxic-no accountability culture is # 54. He is not a back-up quality lb, never mind a starter. But benching him right after our idiot GM gave him a big extension- when he didn’t even have to - would expose and embarrass Jerry and Steven as the frauds they are. So what kind of message does not being able to bench #54 send to the other players...and the coaching staff.

i hate that injuries are going to buy this coaching staff another year.

they have got out coached and out schemed in every single game. the players are completly lost out there like they have no clue where or what they suppose to do. it is embarassing to watch and im not even involved!

I was willing to give him a shot, but I was never thrilled with the hire.

I’m not ready to give up on MM. No mini camps and no preseason games makes it difficult for a new staff to teach their concepts and schemes and bond with players. I’ll make a judgement on MM after next year.

I'm still giving McCarthy a chance. It was foolish to think this team was going to do anything this season. So many holes/warts under the Garrett Era and now with the pandemic and all of the injuries, you're seeing everything fall apart. Let's see what he can do in 2021.

He missed the playoffs in 2006 (first year with Packers) and also 2008 (first year with Rodgers). And those were not completely bad teams he inherited. It just takes him some time

Maybe, but there are other teams in the same boat; they seem to leave it all on the field. The only thing the Cowboys leave on the field is their pride.

I thought we would be 10-6 or 11-5, so this is really brutal

Not only was I wrong, I did it with style. I predicted 11-5.
Let's see, maybe if I switch the numbers around, no one will notice!
No? Rats.
