Justin Fields is the quarterback who I would take if that's the route to go. That's just personal preference and I think Trevor Lawrence is a good prospect.

Imho I think that one of these young men should be considered and not dismissed and you look at defense and offensive line with the other picks we have. That's if it's on the table.

We're bad but we're not NY Jets bad. :laugh:They're getting Lawrence.

Let's fix this defense with a top 5 pick :hammer:

You so sure of that?

I know they had Adams last year, but they did beat on us while Dak was playing behind the majority of our o-line starting.

What makes anyone think we have to Tank?

We stink and we're spineless.

We can't even use the hype machine to keep us interested anymore.

I'm not overthinking it. Lawrence has create-a-player physical tools and can both read defense and streetball it when things get hairy. Zero injury issues, and zero personal issues aside from thinking his goofy-*** hair is OK.

Does he screw up some reads? Sure. Every quarterback screws up some reads. Russell Wilson just threw a game-losing pick tonight straight to a linebacker he never saw, because he assumed that 'backer was coming on a blitz. He's still Russell Wilson. Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater.

That isn't to say that Lawrence can't bust, because success in the NFL is so situational. Look at all the former players for Adam Gase and Jeff Fisher before and after they left those coaches. If the Jets don't launch Gase into the sun, he could make Lawrence his next Ryan Tannehill. But I think that Lawrence has an awesome chance of being a franchise QB in any remotely OK situation. Look at Burrow for example - even on a dumpster fire team, you can still see the talent shine through.
If Trevor Lawrence or any other top draft QB were to come to Dallas, I guarantee you they wouldn't have as good of a rookie season as Dak had in 2016...and that's with the current weapons we have at WR, TE and RB.

Dak hit his peak already. Lawrence is a blue chip prospect. in the long run he has a chance to be elite, not just solid ELITE.

Don't do Trevor like that......besides he can't save this mess. This ain't the ACC or Clemson where each position is stacked in your favor.

No need to tank, stay with this coach we don't win another game
If we have a top 3 pick you grab a blu chip QB. Then if Dak comes back you tag and trade continuing to fill our team with great players the following draft

Yikes! Looks like a big gamble that could backfire and be super costly. Don't listen to the hype. Watch and study film.

If Dak is able to fully recover and settle for a $35 mil/season contract, I say sign Dak longterm and use that early 1st round pick to either address the Defense or Oline, ...or trade down for extra draft picks to better address the many holes on this team. Drafting a rookie QB with that costly early 1st round pick will do nothing to fix the many problems on this team, especially if Dak is able to heal and come back.

What say you?

Sign Dak and trade down. The pick would get a HUGE return.

When in 31 years has Jerry built a great Super Bowl winning team without Jimmy? Our team has problems, and QB isn't one of them.

Coaching
Running Back
Offensive line
Defensive line
Linebackers
Corner
Safety
Punter

And you're worried about QB? Get rid of some high priced losers on this team. Zeke/Tank/Smith/Crawford etc. and allow MM to build the defense. Jones may need to intervene and fire Mike Nolan as well and suggest MM demote Moore to QB's coach and start calling plays.

Watching the hippie fail here would be even more salt in the gaping wounds of Dak haters. Bring Kelly Leak on.

Hmmmm...

Good video..

The lack of pocket presence, in perfectly workable pockets too at the college level, is a pretty big red flag when it comes to NFL football. Dude has some seriously awe inspiring physical tools but what’s in between your ears is just as important. He can improve that lack of pocket awareness and his coverage reads though as long as it’s not related to “chronic happy feet disease”.

Dont worry Dallas will throw away a top pick on drafting oline.
I would lose my Mind. Dallas is the only team in the league that uses so many premium resources at OL. Then they wonder why the defense constantly sucks. You use it for your LT and that’s it.

I think he got overhyped early and playing on a loaded tem imo can hurt these guys development when their flaws never cost their team wins. Why work on something when you post 300+ yards 3 tds and you win by 30?

And then going to a terrible team in the draft...

Anywho, if we got the 1OA I would still take him.

Think his potential is too great to pass on and I'm a guy who thought dak should of been signed long term.
