I miss Dak, certainly no Dak hater but we were struggling mightily to win games with him too and against bad teams. Honestly, it is probably better he is out, he would've gotten brutalized all season with this O-line. I'm talking concussions and things that might be worse long term than his ankle...we weren't winning squat with this team this year..

I cant evaluate anything until the Line can block for more than .5 of a second

he holds the ball too long is my only gripe
Yep I didn't won't to believe that is first, but it is so true. He had Lamb running slant across the middle and it would have had to have been a good throw, but he didn't pull the trigger and got sacked. No excuse for not throwing it.

Yep. Dak is certainly better than Dalton but Dak wouldn’t be winning these games either. The OL is in much worse shape now than it was when Dak went down (and it was already in trouble then). Maybe we put up another 7-10 points with Dak these past few games but the result isn’t changing.

No it's not. The last game Dak started featured a line of Knight, Williams, Biadasz, Martin and Steele... Two rookies, two undrafted free agents, a guard who isn't strong enough to move anybody and Zack. The Cowboys had scored 24 points by halftime in that game. Not saying losing Zack isn't big but Erving is probably an upgrade over Knight who was terrible the last two games he had played after a decent start. The numbers are plain even if you guys don't want to accept it. Dak has been shows to be worth TWENTY SEVEN POINTS PER GAME more than than Dalton. 33.6 ppg vs 6.5 ppg. These guys will take two more games to match what Dak put on the board in the last half of football he played.

The point is, too many jerkoffs came in here telling me that we were going to be fine and the offense would even look better because we had a "real QB" now.. And for your "7-10 points more" assessment.. Add 20 to that and you're in the ballpark.

Weeden also had Tyron Smith, Zach Martin and Travis Frederick, not an O-line full of backups.
True, but he also had TWill as the #1 receiver and Randle as RB1. We still have Zeke and 3 great receivers.

Everybody who trotted out that narrative needs to lose their posting privileges for two weeks. Dalton is getting worse as time wears on not better. He was good against the Giants, terrible against the Cardinals and just plain pathetic against the Football Team. At this rate he'll need to pay the Cowboys for the right to play. I was hopeful that he would get it together as time wore on but clearly this dude is washed. May as well start the kid the rest of the way. He can't be any worse than what we're seeing out of Dalton. I cannot think of a single reason to watch this team the rest of this season.. and this comes from a guy who hasn't missed a game in 30 years. I might watch one more game.. just to see if MAYBE Sean Lee and Chido can add something to this dumpster fire of a defense.. But since neither of them plays d-line, I doubt they can provide much. At least not in the area of most need.

Sigh!

Its the OL. You can put Mahomes behind that mash unit and he'd struggle too. Dalton was under pressure all game and no chance to even look down field very much. Not being able to run the ball didn't help either.

The Cowboys were horrible before Dak (4-12 in 2015) and are horrible now without him (winless).

It’s obvious Dak has been carrying the team for the past 4 years and covering for some really bad coaching and weak supporting cast.

We don’t need Trevor Lawrence, who will be a downgrade from Dak. That high pick must be spent where it can fill holes.

We should completely rebuild the entire defense, OL, and coaching staff.

Who??? Call them out, because I cant remember anyone saying Dalton was better than Dak, other than the Usual Troll Suspects.

An earlier posting was celebrating the fact that Dalton was able to get the ball down field in spite of the pressure. Did yall watch the same game? The line was not to blame for that awful pass that was intercepted right before half. He had time and he still delivered the ball behind Zeke which led to the pick. I had been assured for two weeks now that Dalton wouldn't miss those "easy throws" like Dak does "all the time." There was another slant to Coop that was a full yard behind him. Coop could not even reach back and get a hand on it. Three step drop and pop.. missed by a mile. At no time do I wish to give the impression that I think the line played well. They didn't.. but they're a mish mash of guys who never thought they'd see the field this year.. "An experienced QB" is supposed to help them out. Adjust the protections, call some rollouts and moving pockets.. Some of that is on Moore but some of it is also on the QB.. He's supposed to say "coach I'm getting killed out there let's move the pocket.." Dak needed to do it more and Dalton certainly does as well. I feel bad for Dalton.. He's finding out that Dak was masking a LOT of issues on this team, especially on the o-line. You'd think he would have noticed in film study how often Dak was throwing with people hanging off him. He, like a lot of posters here, must have blamed it on Dak "holding the ball too long."

one thing was very obvious yesterday. Danucci has a strong arm, he is raw as uncooked vegetables, but he can wing it.........where Dalton struggles to throw, he has to put so much behind his throws just to make it there.... so he is shy about pushing to the middle of the filed and anything beyond 15-20 yards where he has to zip it in there......now and then he heaves one down field if he gets 3 or 4 seconds, but he is quite inaccurate in those throws......he cant' chuck it hard any more and he has problems reading defenses, which explains a lot about his time in Cinci....

Yeah, take another cheap shot at Andy Dalton; go right ahead.
Now the Cowboys players showed without a doubt how much they've been supporting him. They didn't show any concern whatsoever when a cheap shot knocked him out.
It would seem as if some players real agenda was to make sure nothing interfered with Dak getting a long-term extension, and they were willing to tank it to make sure Dalton didn't have success.
It is classless, and seems to point out far bigger issues within the organization- as well as the league.
The Cowboys team is in shambles, mostly because the players seem to have "more important" issues on their minds besides playing football.
perhaps the cowboys players knew he sucks and wanted him out of there...perhaps they felt they have a better chance with Danucci than Dalton....ever think of that?

you are just mad because all your meaningless prognostications fell flat....

bottom line Dalton Sucks...no other way to put it....has no arm strength. has no accuracy. can't read defenses. is not mobile...not sure what he brings to the table.

Yeah, and I bet you'd be one of the guys who walked off the field and didn't care that Dalton got cheap shotted.
But if it was Dak you'd be screaming for Bostic to be banned from the NFL.
of course I would scream for bostic to get banned. Dak is an NFL super star...Dalton is a never has-been...big difference

Fair point, although McFadden was the #1 RB most of the year, and actually did surprisingly well. But none of it matters without someone blocking. Of course, none of that really matters because all we are talking about is different degrees of the team and the QB sucking. The primary point is the team sucks, and the QB isn't able to do anything to prevent that.

Of course the defense also doesn't help because they allow so many points the opposing teams know the Cowboys have to pass to keep up, and then they can just t-off on the pass rush.

Hell, just simplify the whole conversation and call it a fuster cluck.

This team is horrible, who really cares what a couple of posters on here said about Dalton or Dak ?

if Dak stayed healthy this team wasn’t wining anything with this defense.
No kidding, there are much bigger problems.
