Is there an actual football reason Mike Nolan still has a job today?

This is a MM thing.
As others have stated. We would rip on Jerry for Hiring coaches for other HCs. This time he let MM get the guys he wanted.
Nolan gave MM a chance back when he was a HC and now MM has returned the favor.

MM needs to make the hard decision and make a change after the season. Either Nolan gets things going, and he does not seem to have a history of it, or he is let go and someone else is brought in or takes over.
Nolan should be fired now. I think he has already lost the defensive players. And if McCarthy doesn't like it then hold the door open for him too.

I am at a continual loss of why Nolan was hired. Has he won anything of significance? Jerral allowed this. It's on him and Stewie.
So when Jerry picks coaches for the head coach, it’s Jerry needs to let the head coach pick his own coaches. But when the head coach does that and makes a bad hire it’s still Jerry’s fault for allowing it.

Ok

Maybe its because its the players who are not spending the time to understand their responsibilities. I wonder how much these guys actually watch film and understand their playbook. Blown coverages are the players fault not the coaches. I am still trying to figure out how Worely has a job after screwing up big week after week, blown coverage after blown coverage.

A fair question. I will answer.

I personally believe that the buck starts and stops with the owner or CEO of an organization. He or she rightfully deserves credit for the successes and the blame when things go south. All the decisions that are made affects everyone from the top down.

I hope Jerry is allowing Big Mike free reign. Jerry probably asked Big Mike how Mike Nolan would fit on this team. The next question could have been, "Is Mike Nolan a proven winner? How can he help this team win with his track record?"

Jerry interfering: A lot of my family are Raiders fans, including my younger brother. They've all said in one way or another: 'Jerry is doing the same exact thing as Al Davis did. Nothing is gonna change until he's no longer the owner.'
My younger bro called this when Parcels left.

that doesn't really answer the question given either we want Jerry to stick his nose in or we don't. I agree with you regarding the buck stopping with him, but when he has made decisions in the past, he has been accused of wanting puppets as coaches so he can really coach the team. It seems to me he cannot win not matter what he does. You do assume that Jerry didn't ask that question of Fat Mike. I am sure Fat Mike is regretting his choice now as Nolan has been an abject failure.

While the Raiders' reference might have some merit, it isn't like the Raiders have improved since the guy in the velour jumpsuit died either.

IMO if they don't fire Nolan during the season, then it validates they are tanking for draft picks. Lot cheaper to build through the draft than in Free Agency. Sign DAK and draft the best defensive players you can.

Is there any reason other than Jerry Jones is a terrible owner who never wants to admit his team needs a major rebuild?

The fact this clown is still employed today tells you all you need to know about this team. He is running the fourth worst defense in NFL history, and they might actual take first place by the time the season is over.

In what other profession and franchise are you allowed to be so inept at your job?
Because as soon as the baby players cry you don't give them what they want. They will never learn accountability. How bout stop jogging Jaylon. How bout making a tackle Xavier. How bout holding your ground Dontari. How bout beating the 1 man in front of you and getting a sack Demarcus. How bout covering the slot WR and making a pass breakup Anthony. These same players (and fans) complained about Garrett and Marinelli. Maybe the players need to go today.
