not only is it a first year staff , its one with no offseason and they underestimated the FA and others on Defense and lastly how the heck are they supposed to operate a scheme with backup OL and backup qb..we will never know how this would have gone after 16 games, progress and such Ie the direction they are referring too if we had a mostly healthy roster..
he 100% correct hes not in denial this was a complete disaster this year and not really can be put on coaches..no true way to evaluate the staff

probably because even with Dak playing as good as he was we struggled to win vs bad teams and don't win vs playoff caliber teams.
We barely beating the sorry giants. We barely and some would consider very lucky to beat the falcons. I mean I thought our special teams where dumb. How do they look at the ball flop 5 yards and not one person on Atlanta think about jumping on it before it travels 10 yards.
We struggled every game with a team many picked to at-least go to the playoffs. Luckily the division is so bad that we still have a shot at the playoffs but nobody in the offseason thought we would struggle this much.
Now if we were in a rebuilding year I would expected that but look at the contracts we have on the books. We are not in a rebuilding year. We are in win mode and winning is something we are not doing. I mean we got manhandled vs the Washington Football Team. Yes we are missing both starting tackles, the starting guard and now the starting QB but geezus. Look at the game plan on sundays. We know we struggle to pass blocking but yet we continue to run the same plays as if we had a top starting 5 offensive line and Dak back there. I mean no max protect plays. How about keeping TE's in to chip or help block. We don't do it. Yes we have talent at WR but that talent means nothing if the QB doesn't have time to get them the ball. Our game plan should be around protecting the oline faults. Yet it looks like Jason Garret run offense where he said he doesn't care if you know what's coming we are going to run the play the way we want to run it with the guys we have. We are fitting square pegs in round holes.

Who is “this group”? I don’t see too many even worth keeping. The front office assembled a crap roster, this isn’t your normal year 1 growing pains. Stephen and Jerry are truly pathetic. I thought McCarthy would help but sadly ever seeing this team as legitimate contenders just seems like a lost cause. These 2 are clueless!

If Stephen was the captain of the titanic no passengers would have been unloaded. It would have been a steady stream of announcements such as “we are confident we can turn this around”, “we have faith in our guys” and “we’ve only sunk a little bit so why panic, just give it time”.
