The local news has been showing that play all day. The skins blitzed the safety and LB on the same side of the line. It looked like Zeke was staring at the safety until he got picked up and then looked at the LB and got ran over. He saw him late due to a good scheme by the skins.
Just to be clear, I wasn't berating his effort. I only saw it in real time, and for all I know there was a big fatty blocking his view.

I thought it was kind of funny. But they showed a view from behind the play and it look like the safety caught Zeke's eye first.

They can't cut him this offseason. They'd have to eat an additional $11MM in cap space just to cut him. Again highlighting the silliness of paying a TB a huge contract. His 2021 base salary became guaranteed in March 2020 and there is nearly $11MM in roster and signing bonuses that would have to be carried on the 2021 cap if you cut him.

Putting aside OL issues............. what does he show that makes you think he's still elite? He clearly lacks the burst he once had. He's not a HR threat at the TB position anymore. He's the worst fumbling TB in the NFL since 2018 (or 2017). He's a good grind it out TB. Is that worth $90 million?
I can't put the OL issues aside if I am also being asked to evaluate a RB.
I also don't believe just speed is the determining factor for a RB. In fact the most important thing that seperates ok backs from great backs is the instinct and vision. Just like the QB's its not something that can be measured at a combine.

Using the $90M number is just attempting to overload one side of the arguement just to try score cheap points.
Does anyone (included Zeke himself) seriously think it was written as a 90m contract? You and I both know thats not true.
Kenyon Drake makes $8.5M per. Do I think Zeke is worth $6M more per year than Drake? Yup
Melvin Gordon makes $8M,
David Johnson makes $13M.

Is Zeke worth his small premium over these guys to me? Absolutely.

Its you that devalues the RB's not the NFL.

Yeah, yeah, he doesn’t get those big runs anymore but his pass protection is a major aspect of his game that other RBs can’t match.

Used to be a real strength to his game. He has been a liability in Pass Pro.

Honestly, the last couple of games, Pollard has been much better in that area. Really any area.

Thats a 240 pound linebacker running untouched for 10 yards with a full head of steam, most RBs are going to lose in that situation.

If you look close, he looks like he is looking more at the blitzer the OL picked up before turning his head toward the one that blew him up. By the time he sees him, he didn't have enough time to brace himself. It had a similar effect as a blind side block by the LB.

for real. I’m pretty disappointed in dude but he’s a great blocking back, not an offensive lineman. Gonna get clobbered from time to time

Yep, I pointed this out in another post. There were 3 defenders coming on the right side, excluding the inside backer. Basic math says thats where he should help as it was 3 on 2.

I heard this also and they showed this from a different view during the broadcast.

Good luck getting these people to accept the truth. They have their pitchforks out and need to execute everyone at this point..... just watch.

Very true. Which is why I’m mainly a lurker because boy can these guys be toxic. Still don’t even know how to navigate this darn site lol.

I would love to see a side by side clip of something from his rookie year to now. Something as simple as running across the formation in motion. The difference is staggering.
