And probably should have been swept by Rays too. Very telling. Very.

that one extremely tainted Astros World Series win is really getting to you

what you posted has zero to do with Astros World Series win

They’ll probably never sniff another World Series appearance.

One game away from the World Series this year. That's sniffing distance to me.
And that's with no Verlander and no Alvarez.

The mass indignation about the Astros cheating is just so ridiculous. EVERY team steals signs, the Astros just used video cameras to do it. So the fact that they used technology instead of old fashioned people turns it into some kind of outrageous, over the top, worst thing any team ever did scandal?

No, it was wrong, they shouldn't have done it, but I suspect there are other teams that might have done it if they'd thought of it.

Like they say in NASCAR - "If you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin"

So let's put it in its proper place - they did wrong, heads rolled, time to move on...

No player heads rolled.
If they had made it to World Series then commissioner would have been in trouble.

imagine if commissioner has to hand WS trophy to Astros right after cheating scandal.
His legacy would also be tarnished.

“Here’s your trophy, congratulations, I think?”

We all have opinions on this.
And yankees were one game from WS too Vs 2017 Astros Too. So....

The quote you referenced was clearly an overstatement given their success this year. However, I'd say the Astros won't really feel the effect of the punishment until a few years down the road. Two firsts and two seconds is four really good prospects. Two of which they would have drafted a few months ago and the other two a few months later, so none would be big league players until 2023 or later, so there wasn't much of a reason to think they'd feel the effects in 2020 or even 2021. May feel a little in 2022.

Oh I think the Astros will have a big drop off as soon as next year. Verlander won't be able to pitch until the 2022 season, they say, and at his age then, with coming off surgery, seriously doubt the Astros will re-sign him. Maybe, if nobody else will and Justin will want to stay in Houston just because it's where he lives. But Kate will probably push to move to L.A. or NY, for her career. Don't remember who, but there are several free agents on the team that probably the Astros can't afford, and you'll see a lot of them get big deals with other teams.

Astros will fall back to a middle of the pack team.

Oh well, I'm not a big baseball fan, follow the Astros mainly because my wife does, and they're the nearest MLB team to me by a lot. Won't bother me a lot...

Oh, absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're green w/ envy, it's blatantly obvious. There'd be no other reason for you to come in here and spew hate. It's sadly funny, though.
