I fear the list of battered Dallas quarterbacks in 2020 doesn’t end with Andy Dalton. At some point, we are going to see snaps taken by QBs not yet on this roster.

Oh, and I promise I won’t beef on posters who think Ben DiNucci or Garrett Gilbert will be as effective as Dalton.

I was hopefully thinking they'd get an honest look, but with that line, will they even survive, never mind show what they can do?

Everybody who trotted out that narrative needs to lose their posting privileges for two weeks. Dalton is getting worse as time wears on not better. He was good against the Giants, terrible against the Cardinals and just plain pathetic against the Football Team. At this rate he'll need to pay the Cowboys for the right to play. I was hopeful that he would get it together as time wore on but clearly this dude is washed. May as well start the kid the rest of the way. He can't be any worse than what we're seeing out of Dalton. I cannot think of a single reason to watch this team the rest of this season.. and this comes from a guy who hasn't missed a game in 30 years. I might watch one more game.. just to see if MAYBE Sean Lee and Chido can add something to this dumpster fire of a defense.. But since neither of them plays d-line, I doubt they can provide much. At least not in the area of most need.

Sigh!
With no O-Line to protect him I could see why Dalton went off on them. These guys are suppose to be professional football players and they're all playing like they're still in high school. That was apparent when Dalton took that cheap shot and not one lineman came to protect him. What's up with that, do these guys think they're still in high school and will be suspended for fighting??????????? OR are these young linemen COWARDS just like every veteran who stayed on the sidelines and watch Dalton suffering from the cheap shot! OR were these young punks trying to send Dalton a message that digging in their *** for playing likes#%^t is unacceptable???? Not sure what the reasoning was for not standing up for Dalton and it needs to be addressed.

Agreed. We reset the market with Zeke when he had 2 more years on the contract and a franchise if necessary. Thats bad money spent for a mental midget and an idiot that finds trouble some kind of way. If he wants to sit let him sit, or either get a good trade out of him. Amari, I like him alot, and I think hes a top 3 route runner in football. Hes not a dog. He doesnt have that attitude but I understand since we didnt know CeeDee was going to fall to us. Even then I was against drafting him....Not that I dont like him, but the WR was too think not to go defense.

Lawrence- I dont believe in paying anyone whose mediocre and then shows out on his contract year.

My point is , Dak is the best leader weve had in years. Hes more of a leader than Garrett, Stephen, Jerry, and McCarthy.. The team has fallen apart without him. Hes the Glue of the team. Hes the emotional leader. He doesnt have 1 elite quality that makes him standout, but he does a number of things really really good which makes him top 5 in my eyes. In fact Russell Wilson, Maholmes, and Rogers are the only 3 that are clearly better QBS to me. I think hes better than Watson and Lamar Jackson. I think he has surpassed Brees and and Brady at this point. In fact when it comes to starting a franchise he there only 2 I would take all things considered (age and ability) and thats Russell and Maholmes, and then he and Allen are a Toss up.

So Im not saying its not our money just to say spend it on any and everyone, Im saying I think Dak is more deserving than anyone on this team, and if we had a mediocre defense....Dak can an would win 10 to 13 games.

The team has fallen apart because we don't have any starters along the OL. The team has fallen apart because we have a bunch of young guys playing on the D side of the ball, the team has fallen apart because that type of behavior has been acceptable in Dallas since Parcells left the building. It may or may not be true that Dak was the only thing holding the team together but if it is, then why did we have a losing record before he left? We were playing like crap before Dak ever went to IR. I just think this is a bigger problem then Dak but it doesn't help that we have a new Coaching Staff, new D and O etc. and no time to get it down before the season started.

The point is Dak has avg 32 over his last 16 games...Maholmes couldnt win with this D, and no one expected the Defense to be this bad. Griffen, Poe, Lawrence, McCoy, Griffen, Lee, LVE, Smith....???Alden Smith and Randle Gregory. Did we expect the front 7 to be that bad? I didnt. I thought it was going to be a pleasant surprise.

That is the point. 32 won't get it done so paying a guy a record deal to score 32 and lose is crazy. I wouldn't pay Mahomeboy that either if he couldn't win it. That's the point.

exactly people are missing the point non how bad this OL has been this year and got worse since dak went down.. we wont win when we are bad on the OL and DL and how can you expect coaches to coach this OL ? they are playing as well as expected all being 3years or under and basically a practice squad players now starting. Its important for OL group to gel and the same group hasn't started two games in row this year..

they see this last 2 games as well we would be better with dak and i disagree we still loose these last 2 games, seriously what are you watching and BTW we were 1-3 with Dak and the lines worse now.. if yo cant run or pass , you wont score..the defense could hold a team to 17 every game this year from her eon in and i doubt we win games, thats how bad the Ol is right now..weve seen Dak without a WR 1 , with TS and Tfred , and this season without many starters but now we have backups to backups playing.. weve lost martin and Knight since dak left..this is not a starting OL..not patchwork backup Ol, its an OL that should NOT be starting but are forced too..

case in point , wasn't it 22-3 at halftime last week? score ended up 25-3? so Washington could have won 7-3 the defense only gave up a FG in the second half but with that OL and Dalton going down no way to win ..the OL is beyond bad its historically bad..

Sooooo now the offensive line is the excuse for Dalton? Yeah we saw Dak without a WR1 and even with guys on the level of me and you at WR he still never put up 3 points. Oh and did I mention that was over two years ago? And Dak is a MUCH better player today than he was then? I mean people keep bringing up the ATL game from three years ago as proof that Dak "can't win without Zeke." yet those same people won't acknowledge that the Dak has won the last 4 games in which Zeke didn't play. But I know .. that messes up the narrative with those pesky facts.. so just forget I said any of that. No matter how many times you guys try to claim Dak was 1-3 the NFL record book sez he was 2-3. He got hurt in a game he started and left with a lead. I firmly believe he wins that game going away and probably pulls out the Cardinals game then crushes the Football Team.. at which point Sean Lee and Chido come back to get the defense a half a step closer to respectable. The team sitting at 4-3 heading into Philthy.. and frankly to me that game comes down to weather. If it's a frozen game we lose.. if it's in the 50's we win. We are an indoor southern team after all.

you need Midol , you are being emotional....

i simply responded to the OP in my opinion theres no more proof that missing dak is more evident then hes ever seen and i say it happened with Romo a very short time ago..

2017 no i mentioned LAST season? against the better defenses where was the 32PPG? and No once again Dak has NEVER played with that OL trotted out the last 2 games..ive seen this offense not score 10 points just last year when we finished 3-5....

same type of bad play on the road to finish out the season..i just showed them to you..

yes daks better then Dalton but we lose that game last week with or without him given the line paly..no run no pass protection base defenses are destroying the OL..

BTW where was the offense game 1? we scored 17 points and defense held to 20? look if you cant see against the better defensive lines , with weakened OL, this team loses even with dak..low scoring outputs are not uncommon..i get the team looked deflated when dak went down and havent SEEMED to recover but come on man im posting FACTS..1-3 with Dak 3-5 with him last ya=ear we have been bad for while now and no not blaming dak but Daks not been winning any more games by himself then other starting Qbs would be in similar situations..

we have went a few QTRS this tear with zero scoring when dak was in there..this is not dak bashings this is responding the OP that hes seeing what he wants to see..

we simply suk as team this tear, period ..even with dak dak was also fumbling and throwing INts, he was better was making more plays but STILL LOSING..

Don't project your emotions onto me. I analyze based on the data before me. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't change the facts that I base my analysis on. Dak had 6? or 7? turnovers in 4 games and 2.5 quarters. Dalton has almost as many turnovers in less than half that.

Also the last time we saw Dak on the field.. he was WINNING.. so the "STILL LOSING" narrative has no basis in fact. No matter how big a font you use it won't change .. I choose to believe that in the 2nd quarter of that Giants game Dak and the rest of the team figured some things out. They had gotten a defensive score.. and a couple of stops. They scored on three straight 75 yard TD drives. I think things were about to get a lot better for this team. Once Dak went down some of the weaker minds on the squad packed it in. And it's clear that there are not enough strong minds to keep that ilk engaged. I'm sure some people will choose to believe that even if Dak didn't get hurt this team was headed for 5-11 at best. Again, that's their prerogative. I don't see it that way and never will. After what I have seen in the last two games I DO think this team is headed for 3-13. But a lot of the problems we are seeing are between guys' ears. That isn't going to get fixed until we get our leader back. It was the same way with Romo though not to this extent. The 2015 team at least put up a fight even though they had no chance of winning. This team isn't even doing that. I figure they might win one more game maybe late in the season when some other team is either already packed up for the offseason or resting everybody for the playoffs. I've seen nothing that makes believe they'll actually go out and out-compete another team that actually wants to win. You would hope that McCarthy could interject SOME semblance of leadership but let's face it, he hasn't been here long enough and he's not the most charismatic, inspirational leader in the first place.

sorry we were leading the league in TOS WITH Dak..so im no longer going to debate this i stated facts we were losing with dak and then lost dak, more Ol and cant run or pass and thats why it looks worse..No way dak makes this OL look much better because ive seen him play against the better defenses missing key players and it was also not pretty,,

The day those guys start playing even average football is the day I will take some kind of statement like, 'OR were these young punks trying to send Dalton a message that digging in their *** for playing likes#%^t is unacceptable????" even half way seriously.

We play in the NFL East. I don't care where we are from, when you play three teams, all with outdoor stadiums from Philly, DC and NY, you better be more then just a "Southern Team".

You lost me? The STARTING QB's job is to make sure everyone is one is on their game and if that means barking at your O-Line then so be it. Dalton hasn't had ANY time to stand tall in the pocket and go through his progressions to find an open receiver. Unfortunately, it appears that the O-Line Dalton is working with is loaded with PRACTICE PLAYERS. So after getting his *** handed to him down after down he finally decided enough was enough and blasted their a$$e$. Think about this, as bad as Cincinnati was it's been reported that Dalton never exploded on the O-Line. So can you imagine how bad these guys really are for him to go off???? As their leader he probably has witnessed better play out of these guys in practice and was trying anything and everything to fire these young dudes up. Who would of thought besides being lousy, they all turned out to be a bunch of COWARDS too....................

A bunch of young guys and a bunch of over paid guys who aren't doing their collective jobs don't have the right to "Send Messages". Their job is to do their job, not more, not less. They pretty much don't know their arses from a hole in the ground. Anybody getting bent feelings over getting told to get your arse in gear has no buisness being on that field. You can get pissed, you can not like it, you can use it as motivation to get better but you can't use it as an excuse as to why you don't or won't do your job. That don't work in the NFL.

I think if you look at the Cowboys record in late season games in those locales and other cold weather venues it will be borne out. This is a Southern, indoor stadium team. Even when the Cowboys were the best team in the league they struggled in cold weather games. Don't shoot the messenger.

That sounds like more of the problem then the solution to me. I mean, you think you are telling folks something they don't know, is that it? Well, that's not it. Folks who have been watching this team for years know where and how they suck. It doesn't mean that it's OK or it's the way to go about doing business.
