That's the perception. Aren't you bashing the Jones? They definitely derserve it. But until recently the Lions have been a pretty bad organization in their own right.

the lions have been just as crappy as us, if not worse honestly

Hand up here brother. I think I even used the word "steal" in reference to his contract. Going forward, I will promptly shut the hell up when it comes to player acquisitions. It's not the first time I've been wrong even today so I will survive.
But you don’t do that with almost every player we acquire or lose, do you? I can’t recall the last time we lost a player that people didn’t chalk up to not being worth keeping.

Jones, Quinn, Hitchens, Collins...I’m not saying they were all world beaters but then the guys we were supposed to replace with were supposed to be huge upgrades according to a large part of this fan base. Poe, Griffen, Smith..where the hell are they? Allegedly our secondary wouldn’t be that bad without Jones, ya know, because he didn’t get INT’s and only took out the other teams best receivers.

I could go on and on, it just seems like every player we lose is minimized and everyone we gain is going to be a an All Pro upgrade. Every year Jerry keeps those Kool Aid taps wide open and people can’t get enough.

Again, I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with be excited about a player every now and then but the over hype seems to be a common theme. Hell, some of us were cautioning against Nolan vs Marinelli, sure there’s better DC’s then Marinelli but Nolan flat our sucks. Some of us were also cautious about McCarthy without Rodgers and were told he was a Super Bowl winning coach so therefore he was a huge upgrade over Garrett. That’s not looking so hot now either but I understand with the injuries and it’s first season it’s not easy so I’m giving MM a short leash but he’s made some questionable calls and seemingly has lost the locker room half way through his first season.

Just ranting buddy. I don’t even see a bright spot over the next year or two. Oh yeah...can’t forget how every draft pick we make is a steal every year

That is what Espn is reporting also. It is a conditional 6th which could turn into a 5th so imo it is a good trade.

What are the conditions that would make it a 5th? I cant find that anywhere.

Fingers crossed but I honestly couldn’t see any team giving us more than a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos for him. And we’d have to buy our own dip.
No way anyone gives up doritos cool ranch..to expensive..more like that dollar store imitation doritos brand...lol

I was very optimistic in 2018 IIRC, after being let down I went back to not having any high expectations last year and they didn’t disappoint, started off optimistic about this year and not only did that go to crap quickly but so did the next few years. There’s very few young building blocks on either side of the ball on this team and I think we’ll have way too many positions to fill. I’ve been wrong before and hopefully I’m wrong again, I just find it extremely hard to see much to look forward to for awhile.

Maybe if we get Tyron back next year, if Collins starts playing well when he comes back and Biadez picks it up then we have a chance but there’s a lot of question marks between and some contracts coming up that will need to be addressed. Hopefully the rest of the guys with contracts due aren’t as selfish as zeke and decide to sit out with TWO years left on their contract or we’ll really be in trouble.

Well he was a FA last year for most of off season so there probably wasn’t that much interest in him. The only people that valued him that high were Cowboys fans and Jerry otherwise I think he would of been on a team much sooner.

I get no BS from this guy. If I am ever in a back alley, I know who to call.
