McCarthy: "Right, I just cut those three guys. It was simple".

The only silver lining in a trainwreck season is player development. Guys like Diggs, Biadasz, Gallimore, McGovern and Schultz will be way ahead next year because they where thrown into the fire this year. Some won't be starters but all will improve more than just the "light going on" like we saw with Trysten Hill this year (and Schultz to a degree).

With Poe, Worley and Griffen gone there will be more reps for guys like Gallimore, Anae, Randy Gregory, and Reggie Robinson (maybe CJ Goodwin in the dime also). Maybe this is the fish or cut bait with Jourdan Lewis where they give him a lot of reps. They will probably poach a DT from someone else's practice squad because we were already light at the position.

The moves today could end up being addition by subtraction in the long run, especially if they were malcontents.

I still don't understand why even bring in Worley? He wasn't very good prior to coming here. That's like when we brought in Nolan Carroll. He stunk, everyone knew he stunk, and yet we tried to sell him as a solid acquisition. Luckily for us he got hurt after sucking for a game or two and we eventually cut him too.

My worry is that they ruin Diggs like they ruined Chido and Lewis.

I was thinking this exact thing. Diggs is young and being apart of a really bad defense and being forced to cover the other teams best WR every week can be tough on a young guy. I hope his confidence doesn't take a hit because considering the circumstances, he's done ok up to this point.

I have to ask, is that really a MM quote? If so its awesome, and he gained some respect from me. Maybe it wasn't politically correct, but if it was the true, so be it.

Good points...

I'm hoping we can find out what we have in some of these young guys now so we have a better idea what we need moving forward.

Cutting Worley was a no brainer and I think we need to see if Robinson can play. He doesn't have to be anything special to be an upgrade over Worley, plus we know if he's a guy that we think can improve and contribute next year.

I'm hoping Gallimore gets more snaps as well. It would be nice to think getting him experience now will make him a starter or quality back up by the time next season rolls around.

Well, he didn't say it out loud... exactly... but he was thinking it!

I just made that quote up, I have no idea what the backstory is on these cuts but I think there is clearly more than just on the field issues involved.

I will be the first person to admit that I don't read defenses or offenses or get very analytical when I watch games. I won't try and pretend I am some genius when it comes to football. That said. I was calling for Worley to be released in week 2. He was the worst player I've ever watched play football in the national football league. When someone who admits that they don't care much about the X's & O's of football realizes how bad a football player you are...then you must really suck at football. That fact that we tried to trade him to another team must of been the most embarrassing phone calls of Jerry Jones Gm career.

I think he was supposed to be a special teamer and down the line depth, but we have struggled to get 3 decent cbs on the field healthy.

You go here and you go there, try not to get in each other's way.

I think Gallimore and McGovern clearly wouldn't be on the field in a normal season, both are guys who clearly have their head spinning and need more reps. But Gallimore especially is a guy we need to be a starter (or close to it) next year so getting reps now should clearly help him.

with how lost the player look and how there is constant mis communication and poor fundametals maybe mccarthy should make it even more simple and use crayon!

I agree......its either going to make him into a great corner or its going to destroy his confidence. i would suspect the former because he seems to be mentally tough. He has had some dumb mistakes, but he is a rookie and provides tight coverage usually. Keep him away from Woods, you know the one who says he cannot give 100% on every down.

Big Mike doesn’t cut anyone. He’s not the GM.

he did talk Jerry into hiring Nolan.

Yes, particularly Raw Umber and Burnt Sienna. They’re easy to see on white paper.
