I'm pretty tired, but I don't think I said anything about Jimmy's way being the only way. I didn't even say this way can't work. All I'm saying is there's definitely a big difference in accountability, particularly for the non-star players.
How do you know? Is yelling at the player on TV making them accountable? Ive coached some of the best softball players in Ca for 20 years... I was considered a "Yeller." I was and always will be intense. It is just who I am. I cant be any different. But that is certainly not what made me good. Did MM never make his players accountable in Green Bay? Favre said he was a disciplinarian. Did he change? Or maybe none of us at home really know what is happening at the star????? Just maybe?

We have a crap culture Brett.

We treat our players like rock stars and pay them top dollar for giving us mediocre results. That's our standard.

You win 1 playoff game and you buy yourself 5 years as a Cowboy and a big contract.

I disagree I think those players just were better than what we have. There was no salary cap. They benefited from it. I just can’t buy that the culture is bad so that’s why we are bad. Patriots suck is it a bad culture?
New England lost what, 6-9 significant players that chose to opt out due to COVID 19....that's a big hit that will affect any team. Plus their QB had the virus- is Cam's subpar play since returning due to lingering effects?

Favre stopped playing in Green Bay in 2008.

Everyone changes over time & nobody in Packerland viewed Big Mac as the taskmaster/disciplinarian type by the time he was canned in December of 2018.

Wrong. Today’s players, just like average people their age, are far different than they were 25-30 years ago. That entitlement mentality is extremely prevalent in today’s society and especially on this team. It’s disgusting.
That 90s team wasn’t entitled? Emmitt wasn’t entitled when he sat out for a contract?

CATCH17’s strategy as a GM would be to fire anybody up for a second contract and replace them in the draft lol. The roster would get turned over every three to four years lol.

That’s almost all he does is ***** and moan about what a player makes. The only players in the league worthy of a highly paid contract in his view is the consensus top player at each individual position. If you’re the second best player at your position and you want a comparable contract to the number one rated player at that position then in CATCH17’s world you’re ish out of luck lmao. Too expensive!! You’re not Pat Mahomes!!

Dude is cheap as **** lol...

Ain't that to truth.........:lmao2:

That’s my point. Pats suck because they lack talent not because of the culture.

That was coming off a SB victory and rushing titles.

He sat out and the Cowboys lost their first 2 games.

He signed and the Cowboys started to win again.

He separated his shoulder during last game of regular season and continued to play; helping lead the Cowboys to victory and the NFC East title.

He then won the regular season MVP and SB MVP.

Not bad for an “entitled” player.

dont you remember Irvin getting benched for getting caught with hookers and cocaine? yea, I dont remember that either....lol
He got suspended for 5 games during the 1996 season. And got injured during the playoff game against the Panthers.

Emmitt didn’t have a contract. He did not sit out. He wasn’t under contract. It’s not that difficult to understand.

He's exactly right.....some serious leadership issues here. Quite frankly, we now know, we only had one. The bottom fell out when we lost him ......

BTW....notice the MM props as a disciplinary. I know I'm a minority, but MM will get this right if we give him time.

If thats the case he sure hasnt proven it so far. Woods was a captain immediately after saying he doesnt try hard every play.

after the sb run was over, and who suspended him? not the team.
Michael Irvin certainly never played like he was entitled (nor did Emmitt). He played like his life depended on it. That’s the point. Doing stupid stuff doesn’t mean you’re entitled. I don’t think you understand the meaning of the word.

Irvin big off the field issues started post Jimmy Johnson.

Irvin partied hard but also worked hard during practice and games.

He was thought to be the “hardest” working Cowboy.

Correction. Emmitt did have a year left on his rookie contract, but had had won a rushing title and a Super Bowl title, not to mention he was being paid peanuts for his production. At the time. Emmitt was the best player in the league and one of the hardest working players as well. Calling him entitled is laughable.

I don't think Jaylon would be getting away with his lackadaisical play if Jimmy were the HC.
I seem to remember stories of Jimmy cutting players just to make an example of them.

BTW, this isn't to say I think Jimmy would cut Jaylon with his contract, but he would get more out of him or bench him, I think.
