Eagles. We play... The eagles... You think we are beating the Steelers?

This week we play the Eagles. Next week we play the Steelers. Win or lose con't matter, we are gonna play them. The NFL says so. So Andy Dalton may be back in time for that game.

I predict he’ll have several good games, maybe even win the division, the Dak haters will return and tell us to sign Ben instead. Cowboys do then everyone starts complaining about him next year and wishing we had Dak.

Michael Irvin says cocaine is a hell of a drug.

I will be happy if he shows he can be a quality back up so the team will stop spending money on more expensive, over-the-hill, proven losers to ride the pine only to lose games when called upon. At least with Nooch, there may be some upside in a lost season whereas with Dalton there is no positive. The best he can do is mess up draft position by maybe winning a few more games but he can’t take us anywhere and he isn’t the future of the team.

Don’t believe me? Look at our QBs who were supposed to be back ups and tell me which ones stand out and which ones are forgettable:

Tony Romo - turned into capable starter
Brad Johnson - went 1-2
Jon Kitna - went 4-5
Kyle Orton - went 0-1
Stephen McGee - went 1-0
Brandon Weeden - went 0-4
Matt Cassel - went 1-7
Kellen Moore - went 0-1
Dak Prescott - turned into capable starter
Mark Sanchez - 0-1
Cooper Rush - never started
Andy Dalton - 0-2 so far

We need to stop with the “experienced” back up BS and always have a young QB in the wings like most other good teams do. Bill doesn’t bring in Dalton’s to play back up, he drafts Garoppolo’s to do it and then gets something for them.

At least there’s a reason to watch another game. Hopefully they keep him upright.

Im rooting for Ben too. But what sucks is Dak getting hurt so he doesnt have to endure all the losses that are coming.

Bill spent a 2nd round pic on Garoppolo to back up Brady. Dallas wont spend a 2nd on trying to get a starting QB. Dallas is always bargain shopping for the most important position in football. Yeah there are plenty of 1st round QBs that fail but if you dont start churning the pile and find a real franchise QB with talent this team is gonna be stuck in the mud of mediocrity forever. Just like KC drafted a QB with the intentions of moving on from Alex Smith who at the time was a decent QB but not getting the job done.

My concern is the offensive line. Like 3/4 the posters in this thread. Not only that, but they'll be coming for Ben. Blitzing. I hope they have quick slants in preparation for that.

I remember the greatest show on turf. You really couldn't blitz them. Warner would have that ball out and in the hands of one of his really good wide receivers. But that was Curt, this is Ben.

I'm just hoping the Cowboys don't come out looking unprepared and as if everything the Eagles do is a surprise to them.

So do you oppose wanting a back up with possible potential or want to keep the status quo of bringing in former starters?

It depends more on the coaches than the kid.

The Eagles are giving up almost 140 yards per game on the ground. Zack Martin will be back. They’ve got to run the ball to set up play action, and Nooch has to extend plays with his feet in the passing game.

I know our favorite team sucks this year, but let’s not pretend that this is the 2017 Eagles. They were down 21-10 with 4 minutes left to a team that we beat - with Dalton. They tied the Bengals and were also beaten by the Commanders.

Im not saying the Cowboys will win the game but it’s winnable. It all comes down to the coaching. If I am Jerry, this week goes a long way toward determining whether this coaching staff comes back next year.

Go Nooch!!

Romo had years as an understudy with Parcells. DiNucci is a late round rookie with no real offseason or preseason.

Expect him to look like Prescott.

You do realize any quarterback has a limit based on the time his OL can give him..so if our OL can protect a little we might have something interesting

I'm only responsible for what I say, not wat you think I said.
If you want to argue, what does "this week" and "next week" mean?
I said I hadn't read anything mentioning him out next week.
You proceeded to talk about him being out for Philly.

I knew that. Everybody on this board knew that.
You don't have to tell anybody this is Philly week.
Philly and the Eagles know this is Cowboy week.

But that has nothing to do with NEXT WEEK, (which is what I asked about).
Needless to say, some people aren't very good at reading so I'll let you slide on your poor comprehension of "this week" and "NEXT WEEK."

When you said next week, next week was the Eagles. Hence my confusion of you mentioning the Steelers. I'm not trying to move the needle for you. You just weren't very clear. Comprehension is based on information available. Next week (next game that has not been played) is how I understood it. Pretty sure that's how most would take it. If you haven't played that game, that's next week's game. Had you said that during the Eagles game it'd had made sense.

I'm rooting for Nooch to make it out alive, basically. This may be the only game he starts with Dalton n Rush working their way back.

No Mr. Poor Comprehension it was not. It was post #30, at 8:43PM

"Dalton done for the year? Maybe that hit knocked some sense into him. I suspected we'd get him back next week."

You suspect he'd be back next week. The next week from the game he was knocked out of is: THE EAGLES. PLEASE STOP TALKING TO ME . Your ego is getting in the way of general respectable discussions. This is a competition. You're just rude.
