I'm glad that Gallup won't be traded but I'm not as negative about Cooper as other Cowboy fans appear to be.

What is this BS infatuation to trade our players. We will not get in return in a crap shoot draft of what they bring.
For those wanting to trade Gallup in fear of losing him as a FA. He may not bring a 1st round draft choice. He was a 3rgd round pick playing great. It dos not mean he will get a 1st.

Cooper was a 1st round top draft pick, we gave a 1st round, lower than where the Raiders originally drafted him. What you do is keep both going into the 2021 season.
Then decide from there as to sign Gallup, release / trade Cooper. Keep Copper, and get a 3rd round comp pick for Gallup. OR you sign Gallup and keep Cooper. The cap could be way back up by that point, they could actually do it for a reasonable deal.
It is 18 months before any decisions need to be made.

However our couch / basement GM's want to show how they do not know how to run a team, as they are worse at it than Jerry.

Trading Cooper isn’t very realistic at this point unless we basically are giving him away. With the cap projected to go down next year teams will not be to excited to have 20+ million on it. Unfortunately after next year, we will have to choice between Cooper and Gallup. I would bet Gallup will get at least 18 million on the open market by a team like the jets. If Dallas matches you are looking at $40 million together and by that time Ceedee will probably be the best receiver on the team.

Gallup averages almost 9 yards more a catch than Cooper............

Easy to do when you only have 19 catches to Cooper's 53. Think that average will hold up by the time Gallup reaches 50+ catches? Nice slanted take though. Lol.

Coopers clearly the best receiver on the team. He can do everything the other two do plus remains the most consistent while facing the best corner.
Lamb is the best receiver and value on the roster and will only get better.

He also averages 30 yards and 5 receptions less per game. There is a lot of value in consistent production over occasional splash. Not saying that's all Gallup is but at this point he is not on par with Amari and any talk that he is should be returned to the orifice from which it emanated. Gallup may yet evolve into a true #1 receiver.. but he aint there yet. He needs Amari drawing the #1 corner, the double teams and the rolled coverages so he can do his thing. That said.. I wish people would quit trying to get rid of our good players.. It's not like we're overstocked with them at this point.

When you have inexperienced or aging quarterbacks at the position, why would you trade away your strength at WR? The QB of the week needs all the help he can get when he scrambles for his life behind this line!

Didn't Cooper get "alligator arms" on a quick slant near the goal line vs. the
Cardinals - and it resulted in an INT?

LOL.. Nice try at covering for Dalton's throw that was way too far out in front especially at that point on the field. Cooper had not shot at it.. but Baker certainly did as it was thrown right to him.

Why?......because the coaching stinks?.....because the Front Office is lost? JJ is establishing he will never get viable Free Agents if its the players fault when there's bad coaches, inexperienced OC, FO buffoonery, poor talent evaluation, poor player development and his and base's selective accountability when things are going bad. Trading Gallup will not make things better except for Gallup.

No.

It was discussed over and over again.

This was Daks fault. The ball should have never been thrown to Cooper. He was just a decoy on that play.

If Dak was out there in a walking boot throwing the ball you'd have a major scoop..

If they can trade Cooper that would be the one. Not because Cooper isn’t good it’s because they have two young receives on manageable contracts and they could use some of that money on the defense.

You’d have to consider it if someone offers you a 1st round pick and more

The Cowboys are thinking ahead. Gallup becomes a free agent in 2022. That's the same year the Cowboys can get out of Cooper's contract by cutting him. I am pretty sure the Cowboys are going to cut or trade Cooper at some point. If that is their plan, letting Gallup go to would be foolish. (Not that that isn't a very Jerry thing to do). Cooper is due a $20 million salary next year and the year after. I have a feeling he is not going to see it from Dallas.

Part of the reason why Gallup yields higher yard per reception is because defenses key in on Cooper as the #1 WR threat...

No need to trade Cooper. We still have a young WR core and one of the best in the league.

11 yards a catch is Cooper's average ; he's fifth in terms of yardage among qualified WR's , yet has the worst yards per catch average of anyone in the top ten............Now babble how that's "slanted"............

and in 1994, Alvin Harper avg almost 10 yds more per catch than Michael Irvin, but there was no question who the better receiver was. Same as now.

And when Harper was allowed to walk when he became a free agent , the Boys were never the same team again.........
