It’s gonna be interesting to see what happens if we get a top 3 pick. Is paying a quarterback that has 1 playoff win in 5 years the way to go. The media is going to be all over the Joneses if they don’t take care of Dak. The best think to do is franchise him and tell his agent to find a deal, then work out a trade. The more I think about it we gave Dak and crew 5 seasons. The players are not getting better. Time to rebuild.

You can't pay $45 million top a QB on a rebuilding team. Some just don't understand this, I guess. There will be a QB in the 1st that the Cowboys can draft, and if Dak's side wants $40-45 million, that's the route the Cowboys will need to pursue.

If Dak asks for even more money he should be walked out of the room and said good bye to.

This team is a disaster and Dak getting 45 million a year would be absolutely ridiculous.

If a deal isnt signed by the draft and we get a top 3 pick, we have to take a QB. We can trade him if Dak signs, or we trade Dak.

By not drafting a QB Dak gets further leverage and it also means that teams there are fewer top QB's on the market for teams like the Colts.

Im sure the Colts would be interested in either Dak or a top 3 drafted QB

If they sign him to a long term deal, it will be in the neighborhood of what he was willing to sign for when the deadline ran out. That deadline that gets deals done.

They may end up tagging him if there is any concern over that ankle.

In all my years, I've never seen a better case for team MVP, hell, he's OVP, Only Valuable Player.

It blows my mind that Dak throwing all over the worst defenses in the league when we were down a 100 points is what we are willing to hand the franchise over to.

If you lose we will pay you whatever you want when you have proven you need a ton around you to compete for championships.

Also, we completely ignore Dalton’s 9 of 11 for 111 yards against the Giants when he had DECENT protection and only want to talk about the Cardinals and Saints game when he had no time to throw and guys like Zeke were fumbling and WRs dropping everything.

The move is clearly to get better value at QB so you can build up the roster.

Signing Dak just leads to mediocrity and he has proven that.

Please don’t tell me how Dak is worth all this money he wants but we also have to improve around him.

Yeah, team staring at a top 5 draft pick in a draft loaded with quality QBs. Dak has them in a real bind.

This is the same forum that was in agreement that Elliot had all the leverage in that negotiation and we just have to give him whatever he wants.

Well we did that and surprise surprise look at what happened.

Not to mention the guy had offseason problems every offseason up until that point.

If I’m Dak I’m throwing feelers for the Patriots, Bears and Vikings just to make a few. He’s way better than Cam and with that culture it’s a win win. I honestly would not want to sign here... we’re the new Raiders when Al Davis was senile. No thanks.

Dallas gave Tony Romo the richest contract in NFL history and turn right around (by 2016 according to many here) gave Romo "the most talented roster in the NFL."

So again, this idea that the Cowboys -- of all franchises -- can't give out massive deals to their QB and build a "championship" roster is false.

We did it for Romo...do it for Dak. Simple.

Average points per game with Dak............36

Average points per game without Dak.......6.5

This team is not even competitive without Dak, scoring 30 points per game less. Let me repeat that, we are scoring 30 POINTS PER GAME LESS!

Dak and his agent be like..............

...and he would be on another team with that asking price.

Completely different time period and team makeup. The Cowboys have too many large contracts on this under performing team. I think you may be forgetting the salary cap, which may certainly be lower this year.

The forum was not in agreement on Zeke. I and many others were not at all in favor of giving into Zeke's contract demands. The problem with giving in to such demands is that encourages others to play poker with Jerry........he always folds. So why not? You would think a businessman like Jerry would know better....

Dak is not answer to lead the Cowboys to the Superbowl, and really that's all that matters. All the stats mean nothing.

Put a Ring on It!

You hit on the head, Dallas is a mess and Dak will do so much better with a balanced well coached team. Rest assured the next 26 years will be no different than the previous 26, if the same people are running the team.

Then cut whoever you gotta cut. We figured out a way to make Tony Romo the highest paid QB in NFL history and gave him a championship team. We can figure out a way to make Dak a top 5-7 paid QB (after Jackson, Allen, etc. get their new deals too) and put together a championship roster. Let's stop with the excuses.
