I'm not up in arms, just tired of mediocre football, and now horrible football.....I'm so glad I was alive for all the championships....now I'm apathetic, dont expect much, which is sad.....

In my defense, I didn’t want McCarthy as HC. I wanted someone from the college leagues, or someone with a good defensive mind. When Jason Garrett was fired, McCarthy wasn’t really in my mind as our next HC...
I am still amazed that our HC search was basically two people.

is it disappointing the season could be over already sure, but I don't get most of you.
a whole bunch of you wanted this or was fine if this happened. most of you wanted the last staff gone at all cost even if it meant they would struggle a couple years(so you said) so many was praising this hire and even proclaiming it night and day difference from the first press conference. so many praised the free agent moves and the change in philosophy on defense, Poe,McCoy,Haha was the saviors.
some here had questions about all 3 of those additions bit it fell on deaf ears. why are so many standing on the ledge now, it's what you wanted and praised.

Trying to get Garrett’s guys to work in Nolan’s system = 2-5.

I thought there was no system, I thought they just fit the system to the players, isn't that what you were told?

I know you know football so don’t play coy here. Marinelli’s guys were drafted to fit his system which is shoot the gaps with the front 7. Now they’re being asked to hold their gaps and soak up blockers. It’s clearly not working so well. We need two off seasons and a ton of roster churn before this defense will have a chance to work. And I’m glad Garrett is gone and no I’m not happy with Nolan and to some extent McCarthy.

that's not the point, we were told that they fit the system to the player, but you're wrong, they brought in their own players for that, Poe and McCoy, Vander Esh and Smith werent going anywhere.

I know I for one was hoping for a pandemic to ruin the offseason, and as soon as we hired a new HC I was doubly excited about him and his staff facing unprecedented challenges with a new team. Then I rubbed my lucky Buddha statue asking for McCoy to go down for the year immediately, for LVE to break his collarbone, and all of our starting corners to go out as well. Then I said shoot, I should spread the love, if the defense gets snake bit, it’s only fitting that the offense gets it more since they’re better stocked. So... you guessed it, asked for Tyron and La’el to get knocked out for the season, and for good measure Dak too. To fully insure the backup had no chance I asked for Martin to go, and hey... why not, knock the backup out too. Sorry. I asked for it :(

LOL, is this a passive aggressive attempt at propping up Garrett?

People were right to want Garrett gone. He had nearly a decade and did nothing. What people hoped for was Jerry would hire a better staff in their place. As of right now, especially when it comes to certain assistants, it does not appear Jerry did that.
Especially with regards to Mike Nolan being the new DC.
Did Mike McCarthy reveal to the Joneses in the interview that he would be on his staff in that role?
As far as the other moves and transactions that took place this week...meh. FO struck out on FA signings in previous off-seasons....it continues....at least they're realized their. (annual) mistakes and cutting the chaff.
I'm not up-in-arms. The OLine & QB injuries, TURNOVER-plagued offense, and defense ineptitude all combined to torpedo the start of this season.
However- the NFC East title can still be won by the Cowboys. Will tune in to see if the players and coaching staff can come together and pull it off.
If there is significant improvement..say 4-5 wins down the stretch (and a division title --HORRORS - keep McCarthy.

You making a post of here you guys go you got what you wanted with Garrett gone, is sort of a tongue in cheek like see
so, he's not here, I've also defended McCarthy so what's your point.

You started a thread which seems to be like I told you so Garrett wasn’t the problem, isn’t this what you guys wanted? Maybe I read you wrong. My point is I’m not judging McCarthy off this crazy year. I thought Garrett had plenty of time.

I'd suggest to simple acknowledge the team is bad......all over the place. The Little Dutch Boy couldn't plug all these holes.

People are up in arms because they want better than Garrett and they want better than McCarthy. It's not like Garrett is tearing it up in New York. They have one of the worst offenses in the league.

How about we don't sit on a losing coaching staff for a decade like last time?

lol.. I would like for you to tell me how you took it that way, I asked a serious question, why are folks up in arms when folks knew it was a possibility when they asked for change, some even expected it, I've posted here McCarthy needed more time, that y'all needed to give the man some slack. I don't know how now I would be saying I told you so. If there was an I told you so moment it would've been about the free agents that was brought in. I didn't like any of them( except Smith)) and expressed it . and the here. I didnt care either way on Smith.

so instead of building a team as they seem to fail at, you rather continue to play musical coaches and hope one stick...ok

I love it.

I'd rather be this then be mediocre.

Burn the forest down and watch it grow back stronger. These losers proved they couldn't win and they rewarded them with big contracts.

You reward failure then players will know thats the standard.

1 playoff win in the last 4 years and we're paying everyone and treating them like rock stars.

I couldn't agree more. A top 5 pick is EXACTLY what any new coaching staff needs to jump start rebuilding the roster into their own mold. And they are certainly getting a first hand look at the young guys and which veterans suck.

8-8 and the 23rd pick would have been a disaster.

Things change!....Sooooo!...Play everyone on the team, see who stays and who goes. Trade whoever you can and build up those draft picks...Prepare for FA and the 2021 draft now!...And beside HC McCarthy ,see what other coaches need to go!....In saying that ...Go DeNucci!!! lol

the philosophy on defense works if your offense holds a lead. which was a realistic plan heading into the season with a stacked offense. Turnovers and injuries magnified the problem. I still like the philosophy next year. Have to have complementary offense and defense.
