He signed a 5 year $60M contract, I don’t see him going anywhere. They’ll chalk this up to the the corona virus, not having an offseason to prepare, and Dak getting hurt. They’re wrong, Mike isn’t the guy but that’s what will happen.

I just read his comments on Poe.
All I could think of was this guy is a box of rocks trying desperately to pass himself off as a brain surgeon

He ain't making it

He probably won't get rid of McCarthy, but if this continues to go downhill? I definitely won't rule it out.

This team is a circus right now, and despite what we think of JJ, I'm sure he realizes he can't just sit on a lame duck coach if he wants another Super Bowl at age 78.

Jerry can get out of it easy.

fire Big Mike for cause. Incompetence.

jerry has some good lawyers. He took on the NFL.

big Mike doesn’t have enough cash to fight back.

It’s personal for Jerry.

it will be fun to watch.
He doesn’t have to fire him “for cause” and again, you are misusing that term.

Jerry can fire him for any reason he wants, he just has to eat whatever portion of the contract he is obligated to pay. No lawyers needed for that.

If Jerry tried to screw McCarthy out of what he is owed, like you suggest, he would lose out on the contract in an embarrassing manner, and lose face with the NFL, the players, and any potential coach he might want. No quality coach would work for a team that is willing to do that. For that matter, they wouldn’t work for Jerry if they see he is willing to can a coach after only one season, with no OTA’s , very little training camp, no preseason, and a rash of injuries.

On top of that, as a businessman Jerry would not risk being labled as a guy that Is dishonest in his dealings and that does not honor his obligations.

Of course, it’s moot anyway. Jerry won’t fire McCarthy. It’s delusional to think he will.
