one of my Cowboy Heroes.
started writing letters to him in '86.
incredibly nice man.
he'd send me stuff...autographed photos,letters.
i'd send a thank you letter.
he'd answer it.
he didn't have to do that.
but he did.
and i wondered...does he do that for everybody that wrote him?
true class.
on and off the field.

It is ok to have a different point of view all respected.....my comment was really pure based on his playing skill, athleticism, and dedication. since i don;t keep with current news and events i am always the last to know

Walker may have been the extreme example, but he wasn't alone in regards to a good work ethic going back to the 80s. He probably showed up to camp already in shape. Today I think guys show up to camp to get back in shape. Probably why you see a lot of injuries early on. With the money these guys make today they're probably focused on having fun in the off season, not conditioning.
