What team held the Eagles offense to the few numbers of points this season (15) ?

Answer: The Dallas Defense tonight - with zero help from their offense - when most of us expected to give up at least twice that many.

Baby steps people. The first step to being average is to stop the bleeding.

Yep watching this team today really makes me think this defense is a couple real DTs away from being at least competitive.

the competition won’t always be this low, but we saw a lot of good things we weren’t seeing in previous weeks.

Getting rid of our three recent cuts likely had much to do with the defensive turnaround we saw tonight. Our FO's decision to show an inclination to stop being forgiving for this team's misgivings was long overdue. The difference in the team's collective attitude was obvious from the start of the game.

The Eagles are a pretty bad team too. I think Washington may win this division.

What's funny is you love spiking the football and then it comes back to bite you.

You probably should wait until after the Steelers game to claim the defense is making progress. They shut down a team tonight in a windy stadium whose QB played god awful.

You slow down the Steelers next week, then we have something to talk about. You give up 30+ to them? Yeah, we can probably hold off on spiking the improvement football again.

Yeah I mean better teams will expose safety more I feel like, but the only giant hole on the defense tonight was at defensive tackle.

Addition by subtraction. Get Crawford off the field.
Same for Jaylon.

Jaylon I’m sticking with just because you know he has the physical ability. If he can put it together at some point it’s huge for 2021. Plus he has shown flashes. Get him real DTs and he might not be a total train wreck.

Crawford I agree completely. It seems every time I saw him last night he was being driven out with ease. Can’t have that out of a veteran. I’d rather see a young guy get beat that way, as I at least have hopes they can get better. With Crawford he is what he is at this point.

But the DTs were only bad last night and not a disaster, which is a big improvement over games like Cleveland. I really wonder if Poe wasn't following the scheme and the rest of the front seven had to cover for that before. They certainly looked better than recent games and better than I expected.

I don't think he does have the physical tools. The leg regressed. Charles Haley noted it last week. It's been obvious to me since last year.

Watch Jaylon get completely stonewalled by the first heavy bag of the Gridiron Gauntlet Pro Bowl 2020 - You actually have to push 3 bags and he couldn't push one. Goto 43 seconds and play on slow mo. He's tip tapping his left leg instead of driving.

Jaylon ain't right.

Gee waiting until week 8 to have a better game against a team that had just about as many backups on the offensive line as the Cowboys and a QB that gave up 4 turnovers they should be doing better, but the Cowboys still got beat by 14 points. Yes DiNucci gave up a fumble for a TD and another fumble late in the game but that really doesn't make the first 7 weeks just disappear. Lets see how good that defense plays against the steelers this week, you know an unbeaten team..

Certainly true, and I see the kid is out there still dreaming of the few million a home playoff game would bring in.

He truly knows how to count nickels doesnt he?

I can always count on half this forum missing the point. The first step to not be horrible is to be less horrible. We got beat by 14 in a game that we would have lost by 35 with the defense we had a month ago.

And you can't discount the defense for Wentz giving up 4 turnovers when three of them were excellent plays by Diggs and Donovan Wilson. That's a "Heads I win, Tails you lose argument", which is a specialty on this site.

Oh please the eagles haven't been a offensive juggernaut this season and yes they scored 23 points which is just at their average for the season so don't go giving the defense all those kudos. It's kind of funny, not ha ha funny, that when Wilson makes a really nice play it's bragged up but when the eagles defense makes the same type of play many here just want say how good the defense played and how the offense gave up that TD. It's a really good play for the Cowboys defense and a really bad play for the Cowboys offense instead of another really good play by a defensive player. The eagle fans can say that despite their offense turning the ball over 4 times their defense play good enough to keep the Cowboys to the second lowest point total all season and won.

Having one game half way through the season playing against a less than explosive offense where the defense didn't give up 30 some or 40 some points is a aberration until they can prove they can do it constantly. What you're doing is if a 3rd string RB comes in for a single snap and gets a 30 yard run and becomes the RB with the most yards per attempt and then someone saying that this is the new RB for the future.

My kudos were "less than horrible", you got me.

And it isn't a compelling argument to say "we are horrible because the Eagles are worse" when the Eagles were literally worse against every other team.
