It can no longer be denied Zeke seems slow and not focused

Man I didn’t even think about that .

he was on TV some time after he got better, and he said that he was having problems running due to how the virus affects your lungs, but that he was getting better each day and would be ready for camp. (Sometime in July i think)

I cant remember the last time he broke a tackle in the open field. There are undrafted and late round backs on every team that break tackles every now and then. Zeke has been overrated for years but man now it's depressing to watch him.

I just think he’s really pressing. Thinking and not letting the plays and blocks dictate where he runs. He’s out here trying create home runs instead of just playing free. Tbh he looked fast and in shape to start the season so imo it’s the fumbling issue and his own freelancing that’s getting into his head.

The driving force behind this entire team is not Dak, it's not Zeke, it's not any one player. The driving force behind this team, on both sides of the ball is the OL. It's past time our own fan base figure this out and understand our own team and yet, it still seems to elude us. It's weird.......

True - He is in a funk this year. True - The O'Line ain't helping anybody out. He cannot, however, make anyone miss anymore to save his life. He is not going to outrun people anymore either. He is tough, durable, serviceable, but not elite, average at best.

Zeke is talented but is a partier. Has been since his Ohio State days. Youth helped him overcome this in college. He was great.

But as the years went on, he got older and the partying continued. It has now caught up to him. He is still an above average, effective back. But he is not the elite game breaker like he was at the start of his career. Sadly, he is paid like one. And his downward trajectory will probably continue.

Also, he is not the team leader he thinks he is.

Gotta love it when people take comments from 3-4 years ago and act like someone said it yesterday.

It's true, Zeke ain;t what he was and also true you need to get over yourself.

"Oh look how special and in-the-know I am.....I hated Zeke from the beginning...I refused to support one of our own Cowboys players and now VENGEANCE IS MINE!!!!!!@!"
Nobody “hates Zeke” you wuss.

But only a complete idiot who knows NOTHING about football could’ve possibly thought Zeke was more important to our offense than Dak.

Sounds like YOU got offended by what I wrote... I’m so sorry that the shoe fits. Hope you learned something about this sport.

Making some big assumptions there fella. But hey.....all the chest thumpin yer doing.....might as well make some more stuff up in your head.

"offended"? Hardly. Sounds to me like your own shoe went on a little too slick.

I can tell you at least several people who have stated their hating of Zeke...so....wanna bet me?

My view? I thought they were both important to each other. Zeke had blocked well....ran well..and made a nice safe outlet pass the yielded YAC. I felt he was most important to the HEALTH of Dak. But that was like 2-4 years ago. The fact that Dak gets injured in Zeke's drop off is very telling. But hey....why not just keep making sheet up in your head instead of getting the facts.

I am not sure he's ever thought of himself as "The Team Leader". If you have something him saying so, I;d be interested.

I think there is a huge difference between "team leader" and "good teammate", which is Zeke. I'm not actually sure who our "team leader" is/are, as I see it.

"It hurts," Elliott said. "I look at myself as a leader for this team. And I look at myself as someone who's supposed to help pick the team up when we get down and not be the cause of falling behind."

Partier? Lol. The 90s Cowboys laugh at his "partying". Irvin and others would play while high on coke or whatever else they died. And still performed. Athletes party.

And you do realize, Dak was with him a lot at the clubs and parties right? And he has did just fine.

Zeke is just a RB that hit his ceiling early and is flaming out fast. He got his payday and just does not care any longer.

We might take a look at Pollard's season thus far.. Dude is averaging exactly the same number of yards behind this dumpster fire of a line as Zeke is.. and A YARD AND A HALF down from what he averaged last season. I know it's too logical of an analysis but the fact of the matter is neither guy is setting the world afire behind this line.. I still think the shotgun running plays we call are better suited for Pollard than Zeke but if we don't block it doesn't really matter who we put back there.
Yes, neither RB is setting the world on fie. One RB is being paid like someone who should be.

Okay....there's that. It's not something he talks about a LOT.

I've never heard ONE analyst claim zeke was the leader of this team.

I'm glad you found that...I just don't hear it a lot. But hey...I guess a former superstar 90 million guy SHOULD consider himself a leader.

Predictable sure, but not at this rate.
Overpaid plyers have been part of football since the cap.

Why do we NOW hate players that are overpaid?

(Yep...I know..."hate" is strong word overused and abused....but since the board is overrun with hyperbole I thought I'd try some myself)

Not sure if it’s just too many touches and carries in a short career, or if he’s gained weight, or if he just does not have the same heart but it’s undeniable he’s a shadow of what he use to be .
There were plays tonight where he did not even hit the right hole . He’s Becoming a 90 million dead weight,

your post comes 1 year late.

My last glimpse of his remaining burst, quickness and power was the Philly first game in Dallas last year.

I posted about him resembling his old self on that day. I haven't seen that same skillset since that day.

His behavior and mannerisms seem aloof, distant or to the extreme, almost as if on opiates it appears at times.

Still a fan of the old onfield talent(not off field stuff) but his inconsistent performances has cooled my enthusiasm towards his play for some time now.

Hindsight as it is and not realizing then, I realize now what a terrible contract it is. Another second contract coaster mistake to add to Jerry's current/past other coaster mistakes.

Anyone that adversely effects our ability to have a sustainable winning formula is going to be hated on. Hell even Dak is drug through the mud on this board and he's considered a top 10 qb in the league, to be modest.

The hate Zeke gets has A LOT to do with his back story.

The contract is ugly right now and probably untradeable.

But, if they were willing to convince some RB needy team, looking for that final piece, to take on Zeke, then I would likely be behind trading Zeke. This team will probably need at least two drafts before being legit competitive again. By then, Zeke will probably have little left.
