bradshaw and jimmy are good friends off the fox job, have been for years, so that why he selected Terry.
Jimmy could say I am happy to be in HOF because it looks like I wont ever be in the ring of honor at cowboys stadium!

Lol you know Jerry wasn't even considered.

I've wondered for years if Jimmy will even thank or acknowledge Jerry in his induction speech.

He should. It's not like it's guaranteed he wins two Super Bowls someplace else. Jimmy was given a lot of control in Dallas and used it well, along with Jerry's wallet.

I know it ended acrimoniously, but I think you still should thank the guy who gave you the chance to do what he did.

Jerry's narcissistic thinking " i should present him" "he still won't admit i put those championship teams together".... while Jimmy still remains off the Ring of Honor:huh:

eh, I draw the line there. All the NFL owners spent roughly the same amount of money on players. The NFL was never like MLB where the Yankees spend 4X more than Minnesota Twins. Jerry gets credit not for spending money but for making the decision to hire Jimmy AND let him run the football operations. It was the best decision he has made in 31 years of owning the team.

Jerry was actually one of the "poorer" owners in the league when he bought the team.
Actually, when Jerry and Jimmy took over, Jones was deep in debt; having mortgaged everything he had just to buy the team.
Lol! Ok, I guess Jimmy coached for free and our FAs played for free and Emmitt didn't get his big contract etc. I stand corrected. Jimmy deserves credit, but so does Jerry. I forgot that Jimmy proved himself in Miami.
Those two fed off each other and their competitive feud is what made us great.

No NFL coach in history has won super bowls for 2 different teams. Jimmy did prove himself in Miami but could not overcome an aging Marino and a meddling owners insistence that he not be benched. His eye for talent and ability to motivate and coach is among the best the NFL has ever seen. Hence his election into the HOF in spite of a relatively brief NFL coaching career.

NFL owners have to spend money on players and coaches. They have no choice in the matter. Can you name an owner that didn't?

Competitive feud? LMAO. There was no competition between Jerry and Jimmy. They had very distinct roles. Jerry ran the business and Jimmy ran the football team. The feud only occurred b/c Jerry began meddling in football operations.......team was already built by then.

I think he will. Should. Jerry may have fudged it up in the end but in the beginning he got it right.

Jimmy is pushing 80. I am glad he will be alive to get inducted. I am sure Jimmy will mention Jerry positively in his speech. No matter what his opinion of Jerry truly is, he will probably figure it is the right thing to do.

Jones gave credit to Jimmy in his HOF speech. It would be classless and shocking for Jimmy not to acknowledge the owner who gave him the opportunity.
The fact jimmy is not in the roh suggests jerry just went thru the standard protocol speeches. Jimmy will probably do the same. Only troy is most likely to be effusive in his praise of jimmy with no mention of jerry.

Its his team, unfortunately he can do whatever he wants to do with it. Jimmy was great but he's been gone for over 25 years. I'm sure Aikman, Irvin, Emmitt and the rest couldn't have won without jimmy.
The picks and players they got for Walker and trading for Haley had nothing to do with it. And yes, I know, Jimmy probably orchestrated those trades, but Jerry signed the checks. Therefore, like I said before, he couldn't have done it without Jerry's money.
By the way, no cap back then. So Jerry spent as much as he wanted.
And I agree with you, he couldn't overcome an aging Marino, so talent does matters.

Oh goodness, what a slap in the face it would have been to JJ if Jimmy selected him to be the presenter! Especially after this year's team performance. I would have loved for that to have happened!
Lol, after Jerry presented him Jimmy would start his speech with "you still have 493 more options left Jerry ".

And Jimmy would be that petty too!

That would be incredible.
Yeah he would. Do you remember a draft were the Cowboys traded some picks and Jimmy said it was a bad trade and Jerry "reminded " Jimmy of some numbers card that gives certain value to picks and Jerry got the better value. While Jerry was explaining it the camera caught Jimmy rolling his eyes and smirking. That was so funny.
