Jaylon is SO HARD TO WATCH. He's so easily blocked. Terrible instincts. So soft. Such a liability. When he makes a couple of plays, it seems like he had a "good game" but, in reality, it's like someone who burns an entire tray of cookies except for a couple which came out pretty well. Almost all the cookies are inedible regardless of the fact that a couple turned out well.

It was nice to see LVE look more like the guy we saw a couple of years ago. D-Law, Diggs, and Gregory (good for him!) played well, overall, IMO.
My boys I coach in youth football seem to have more desire then that bunch...the problem is there is no repercussion for poor play, just keep running them out there...first time you run away from a play you are team bench....only way you can send a message to them and the team...anyone with an ounce of football knowledge knows jay and craw need sit down time and craw needs gone !

How many of those tackles are in his hole near the line of scrimmage, compared to 8 yards down field.

Can make any viewpoint with statistics

5 TFL.

6 last season.

JSmith is one of the best LBs in the NFL.

per NFL stats.

Everyone who hated on LVE should really choke on their crow, as the years unfold...

Guy is a total stud.

Except for the sack he did nothing. Donavon Wilson made a similar play earlier in the game. The over rating of LVE by some on this board is sickening.

I fear his brain and instincts are top rate, but his body isnt at the same level (possibly due to injury).

To be fair at the moment he's usually getting swamped by opposing O-Lines walking through our DT's and negating his ability to make plays. I suppose it's easier for a offensive coach to play him when one of the other LB's is usually on walkabout MIA.

LVE is another example of the Joneses boom or bust philosophy. For some reason they always do this with the linebackers position. They drafted well last year by sticking with their board. Hopefully with the high picks we have in 2021 they will do the same.

Though I dont see LVE as being particularly like it the Jones' usually love their flashy high visibility "look at me" player.

LVE is 6’4 and runs like a deer. If you could make a linebacker it would be him. The neck injury was the reason for doubt. Look at me??? Jerrah wants the attention. The Cowboys look for freakish type athletes over quality football players. LVE, Hill, Jaylon, Randy and Diggs are physically blessed but each guy has an issue that made teams stay away from them.

not really. They drafted him at 19. The neck injury is hindsight because it wasn’t a red flag at the time. Once it resurfaced then everyone brought it up.

It was red flagged by other teams. If he was healthy he would have been a top 10 selection.

He made 2 whole tackles all game, one of which was the sack. You can't be very good in run defense and only get 2 tackles.
You can affect plays and direct a player to cut outside into another player, who makes the tackle and gets the stat. It’s a team game and stats don’t tell the whole story.

nope. He hasn’t played football long and only had the one year of production. Roquan Smith and Tremaine Edmunds were seen as superior prospects. Where we picked in the middle of the round was where his ceiling was as far as earliest he could go.
