We won't know what Nolan is as a DC until the offense is healthy and not fumbling the ball every 10 seconds.

The team isn't built to play in slugfests and try to win 23-20

One game won't change my mind about Nolan.. he has the rest of this season to keep the defense flying around like it was Sunday night.. If it falls back to where it had been then he needs to go. We know the Eagles are offensively challenged to put it mildly.. so we will need to see the defense put on that kind of display against QBs who do not suffer multiple brain farts per game and whose offensive coordinator will stay committed to the run.

Having Lee back is big. I wouldn't underestimate the impact of him being on the field in terms of getting the defense lined up.

I heard on the radio that he only played 4 snaps...

Personally, I'd fire Nolan.

The 2021 draft and offseason are too important. Too pivotal. And Nolan, if we're honest with ourselves, is likely gone by 2022 (2023 at the latest). He's failed here, we're just too polite to axe him yet but we know he's not here for long. And when he's gone, we know we'll all look back and admit we knew he needed to be gone during the 2020 season. So why wait? Why let him stick around and influence another draft class, another free agency class, another training camp, another roster cut-down period?

Just fire him and move forward. His replacement will have a better chance if the defense has as little of Nolan's stink on it as possible.

I didn't get to see the game, did they say he had an injury or was the team just easing him back in?

McCarthy said on his radio show when asked about it that the plan going in was only 10-12 snaps anyway and since the defense was playing pretty well there was really no reason to push Sean. Sound reasoning to me. A guy who hasn't tackled people since last January probably should be eased back in.

Good the hear, I think he had a half tackle in those four snaps which isn't bad, hopefully he can stay healthy.

I mistakenly called it a radio show .. in reality if was his normal press conference. I'm not sure McCarthy even has a radio show. I do know he has the weekly coaches TV show that has been a tradition with coaches as far back as I can remember. Up until everything went online you had to live in DFW to get it. I started watching it online maybe 8-10 years ago.. then I realized how lame it was watching Garrett so I stopped. I may check on McCarthy's show in the future just so I can try to get a read on how good a grip he has on this team. I have to admit that watching him on the sidelines he looks sorta superfluous at times. But I know that the head coach does most of his work during the week.. and by game day he is really just supposed to ride herd on the coordinators and call timeouts at the right time.

But back to Sean Lee.. I thought he was fine in the action he got. and I think having him actively involved on game day was only going to help even in limited snaps. SInce the Steelers play 11 personnel most of the time I think this could be another week that Lee only plays a few snaps.. unless the coaches have the balls to sub him in for Jaylon. Whatever the reason, Jaylon is not running well this year.. and he is picking the wrong hole to step into as often as he picks the right one. Maybe despite his smooth speaking style he's not quite as bright as they need him to be upstairs. I don't know.. but I think Lee needs more snaps however they slice it.. And Joe Thomas is the fastest linebacker on the team and one of the fastest in the league.. They need to find snaps for him too. I know he's undersized but putting him at weak side should render that a moot point.

Nolan wrecked the season.

the sooner he goes, the better.

id like to see them promote Edwards after the Steelers game. That would give him the Bye week to fine tune things a bit.

This is as lazy of a take as you can have.

I don't particularly like what Nolan's been trying to do, but you can't say that based on the way the season has turned out.

agree.

also, Jerry is 78 and a net worth of 8.6 billion USD.

he can pocket Nolan’s contract.

if Jerry wants to win soon, which he should , then move quickly on Nolan.

but it’s true. 8/

nolan is a bust.

He’s broken defensive scoring records that are decades old.

Our base is a 4-2-5.

that means LVE and Lee have to take turns.

moving back to a base 4-3-4 would help the run D a lot.

let JSmith cover the slot.

It's not true.

We don't know that.

Doesn't matter.

The only reason he was hired is because he’s friends with Big Mike.

everyone knows. Cronyism at its worse.

he was the main reason the entire Falcons coaching staff was fired.

do not let injuries and covid let nolan of the hook people

the mis communications on D, player out of positon and not nowing what to do or where to be, getting out schemed every week, etc are all on nolan and there are no excuse.

he has to go unless u want to keep losing for draft picks or what ever then fine keep him around.
