5 of them are for loss.

he had 6 of those last season .

If he stays healthy, he is on track for 160 tackles.

thats why he is a league leader in tackles.

Jaylon currently ranked 5th amongst all LBs.
44 solos
5 tackles for loss
38 assists
2 passes defensed

The 38 assists should be rather telling.
Always showing up to the party late.

Can't trade him.....no team without Jerry Jones as GM would invest that kind of money in a rehab project. Teams are taking advantage of his lack of physicality and poor football IQ. LBs are no good to a team making tackles 8-12 yards downfield on running plays.

I would try to draft his replacement in 2021 and cut him if I feel good about my pick. The rookie salary will help offset the dead money from cutting Smith. They need to find LVE's replacement as well. He is not going to hold up in the middle. Replacing LVE is not at the priority level of getting Smith off the field.

i wish fans would stop with the insanity posts..its not serious, we are not GMs and nothing we banter about is going to happen. Its clutter theres like 14 JS threads in the last 2 weeks all saying the same things..

none of the players with large contracts are tradable nor makes any sense to flat out cut.. hes not been good but his stats say also hes not the worst LB in the NFL..im hoping the LB coach and TIME getting better players in front of him on the DL and around him ie LVE LEE and other LB to help clean up the chaos so we can see the truth..

i know ive seen a lot of his famous getting caught in the wash, taking bad angles etc etc..hes not been good but doesnt mean its not correctable,. If this is still the narrative 8 games in to next year with better defense around him, well then its tie..i believe contracts such as zekes, Amari, and JS can be unloaded with less dead cap money after 2021..Jerry and the Jonses also NOT leaving..

until then get used to it they all will be here next year all the coaches will be back because this year has mostly been derailed by Injurys, short off season, and FA who didnt pan out..

it may not be an excuse to some of you who hat the word its definitely THE REASONs hey are valid.. no team can overcome the injury ist we have had and coaches cant be faulted for FA players who just didnt live up to expectations..You simply reevaluate, reboot, and hopefully 2021 is this painful..

for anyone on this board that ACTUALLY BELIEVES Jaylon Smith and his stats tell the full story, I have some waterfront property to sell ya in the Sahara. That guy doesn't match the eyeball test. He may be athletic physically, but he seems to lack nastiness, desire and FB IQ to be great. He has no fundamentals.He makes tackles sure, and from time to time makes a play. HOWEVER, his play doesnt even come close to what expectations are. Blake Martinez of the Giants would be a huge upgrade and for a fraction of the cost.Just 1 glaring example. Sean Lee falls into the same category. He gets tons of hype and never lives up to being a game changer. I am tired of the lies being spun that we are ok with "our guys." Lets just stop it.

Yea, agree we have to work around these problems, these contracts arent going away until end of 2021 and even then the saving ,when factoring in the cost of replacement, wont be that great.
