I'll be incredulously amazed if Crawford isn't either cut or traded by the oncoming offseason.
Let's hope the FO was waiting for the right time to do so as seamlessly as possible!

Just read he has 1 tackle through 5 games
yes, he will. unfortunately at the end of the season. he is in the last year of his contract. he is a veteran. his salary was gauranteed after first week of the season. letting him go saves nothing.

perhaps he should be benched and not activated....

Everyone keeps blaming the players but Nolan is the issue. I even get caught up with Dlaw production but that is because his production sucked last year as well. But honestly, if Jaylon was good enough to be an alternate on the probowl should he not be better under a new DC.....Crawford has never had numbers like 1 tackle through 5 games. Just saying

Jaylon wasn't good enough. Probowl selections are badly done, alternates even worse. Its more about brand than performance.
Crawford - age & injuries have caught up with him. doesn't take a lot to go from barely adequate to shouldn't be on the field.
There has been more than enough discussion showing that regardless of scheme these guys are just getting manhandled.

2 years ago we could of gotten both Danny Shelton and Johnathan Hankins for the combined price savings of cutting him. Would of also freed up safety Juan Thornhill to get taken in 2019 instead of reaching for Hill

We couldn't though because "uhhh he does the dirty work"....... "locker-room guy"......... "position flex".......

This franchise is a joke

Day 1 pro bowl rosters are universally accepted. Almost everyone makes either NFL top 100 and/or all-pro team

The issue is late season alternates. Factor in 4 of the NFC starting MLB being rookies, injuries, and Jaylon being the 2nd alternate instead of 1st and you can argue he was only like the 7th or 8th best MLB in the NFC alone.

Happened to Dak as well. All 3 day 1 starters refused to play so they went down the list. Ryan declined and then Dak was the 4th person asked on the alternate list. Technically got a "pro bowl" even though he was the 7th pick in the NFC.....

Alternates are chosen by the coaches. Starters by the fans. Crawford has never played this bad.....this is either true or it is not.

5 tackles, only 1 solo tackle

Why not just drop Crawford down the depth chart where he gets little or now playing time? We are paying him anyway, so why cut him and pay someone else to fill a the bottom of the roster backup role?

believe you have this wrong. "Currently, players are voted into the Pro Bowl by the coaches, the players themselves, and the fans. Each group's ballots count for one third of the votes." This is from Wiki.

i agree on Crawford. But i can't lay blame on Nolan for him getting rag dolled. That's physical.

Before the Eagle's game, I didn't have an opinion on whether Crawford should be on this team, and starting, or if they needed to just cut their losses. Guessing the play that changed my stance was around the 8-minute mark in the 2nd quarter. Scott took the handoff, went right and got passed Crawford as he was being 'duo' blocked. Once he disengaged from the block, he proceeded to chase down the play from behind. What I didn't see was an effort/hustle to catch the play. What I saw was a guy jogging toward the play who was more worried about pulling his jersey back down, to cover his gut, than he was about making a tackle. God forbid he gets caught on national television with his jersey pulled up and his gut exposed. Did Witten stop to put his helmet back on back in the day? May be petty but that completely changed my opinion of this dude. Screw him.

Sorry...been a long night/day, if you nomsayin', and I'm not in the mood to be nice. :lmao2:

I've always liked Crawford, felt he was an underrated player that was good against the run and offered some pass rushing ability. However, he's no longer effective and doesn't look like the same player.
