This is a horribly coached football team.

Name one improvement this team has made compared to last season.

McCarthy HAS to be gone at the end of this year.
Just watching some of MMs press conferences...what on earth did Jerry and Steven see in him? He seems to really struggle to get his point across. If I’m a player, I quickly toon him out and would be so in-motivated to play hard.

We handled injuries to the offensive line better this year than during Garrett's (and his various o-line coaches') time, in my opinion.

We were still a top offense when Dak was playing behind 3 backup o-linemen (plus the guy who was supposed to be our best backup tackle was missing, so we had to dig deeper into the depth chart than we'd planned). It wasn't until the Martin injury that the o-line went from being merely a run-of-the-mill weak link to straight-up making it impossible for the offense to function. Garrett and the old o-line coaches sometimes stood by while a single injury at LT was enough to crater the entire offense. The fact that it took losing 4 starting linemen before the wheels utterly fell off for the offense is definitely an improvement.

Somebody was doing their job. Not sure if it's the o-line coach coaching them up better... or the playcaller doing better at adjusting for the fact that he was missing guys... or the personnel people stocking our bench with more competent depth players than we used to have... or some combination of those. But whatever it is, the Garrett era teams would've seen a couple years unfold a little differently if they were able to take a single o-line injury in stride as well as we manged to handle it when we lost our first 2 or 3 injured starting linemen this year.

The inability to overcome that Chaz Green catastrophe experiment at LT against Atlanta is a never ending reminder of the we do what we do, just beat your man mantra that long suffering fans despised for a decade.
But the counterpoint to your argument regarding all 3 phases of coaching is just as convincing that Mac has failed miserably.

His choice of coach and performance defensively, last Sunday notwithstanding, is totally unacceptable.
With Kellen's autonomous authority over the offense, could a reasonable expectation be made to not have THAT Dinucci performance last Sunday night? And yes, that's even WITH the current injuries. Someone else said it already but if you had Rush for 3 years of development and let him go based on a 7th rounder's supposed potential as a project QB, is it just me to see the total dysfunction in now starting Rush, whom you developed in the first place and who you let go for the now benched guy you drafted to succeed him?

Lastly, the acquisition of Zuerlein was a good choice for the special teams responsibility of kicking field goals and kickoffs, but I mean looking at Jones's punting and Pollard's pathetic returns(decisions to return) do we not hold special teams in a somewhat negative light as well?
So while your point on the surface does hold water for that specific case of overcoming an oline injury, I believe McCarthy overall has failed miserably in all 3 phases.

JMO though, I know how they vary.

Everyone make note of the MM excuse-makers and hold them accountable for their weak opinion. You've all seen the horrid play-calling this season. KM should not be MM's built-in scapegoat for his own ineptitude. Stop this clown show by firing both MM and KM.

Well they heard bells !! lol whatever that means.
Basically they got a yes man with a big name who was willing to let them do what they like to do.
I think he told them you get the players, and we will coach them up lol, but that hasnt worked out too well.
more liked they coached them downwards.
I knew kellen was going to be a pass happy flop, and many here said beforehand nolan was a bad hire and DC,
but Mike, I thought might not be great but would be good, but boy has he surprised me, I am still surprised he is so bad in all areas.
If I were the owner GM, I would let all 3 go and promote some from withing for interim HC,OC,DC.
The sooner that is done the better.
No matter what anyone says Mike was hired to win now with what was thought to be a excellent talent pool.
And now they are not only not good, they have become a joke.

This same principle should be applied to several masses of opinions made here and given its own forum title.

The Accountability Zone. It's where you go to fess up, eat crow and humble yourself before the masses while explaining what your poorly misguided opinion was based on.

Note to mods though,
Since this is a Cowboys forum and accountability for ones actions is foreign to the owner to the HC to the QB to the Zone fan base, in all likelihood this would be a very short lived forum.
Due to lack of participation or inability to admit when you're wrong.

Yea because these coddled players were really playing hard before Mike McCarthy got hired.

Any Cowboy fans pick up on Troy Aikman's (not so) veiled shots during last night's game regarding the lack of creativity in the Packers' offense under their prior head coach and how Rodgers is thriving (24 TDs & 2 picks) with a creative offensive mind now in control?

With no offseason or preseason games and all the season ending injuries to starters better get used to McCarthy and his annoying mouth smacks for at least another year.

Thanks bro,
Can't take full credit on that one. I borrowed it from an earlier post where a CZ member brought up the word dysfunction and used it as an example.
Don't want to be prosecuted for plagiarism.

So, I'll be accountable and admit it was borrowed, lol. :)

Uh yeah, - Sarcasm to the Extreme -
Such an unbelievably huge loss for GB to have fired the present Cowboys HC.

They have never been the same since his departure, lol

Too funny

Make sure my name is on that list.
Blame me. Tell me how wrong I am.
Throw that first stone, second stone, and the whole damn pile!

And watch me laugh at you. Yall will be wishing Big Mac was back the first season he's gone, just like the guy that just left.
