Gallimore is better than Hill

I dont want to go into 2021 with him penciled in as a starter, but he was our best DT to start the season. I'd be perfectly fine with him in a rotational role, getting 10-20 snaps a game.
He was rated the worst dt in the nfl actually. All we saw was him through the line once or twice. That’s it. The rest of the time he was getting pushed around like a rag doll. He isn’t strong enough in go’s upper body. If he is starting next year we are in big trouble.

Thats cool. Gallimore and Hill are young and cheap and they will be in the middle of the line for the next 3 years.
Hill sucks and gallimore had his first decent game. We need to spend a first round pick or big money to bring one in.

Hill showed huge improvement and Gallimore is going to shine.

Glad we have both.

Gallimore can play, I watched him too much at OU. and hill was playing decent despite the defense being terrible. He got no play time the first year. Lawrence, Hill, Gallimore, Gregory is not terrible at all. Poe Was taking up there opportunities.

I was impressed with how the defense looked up. I guess cutting guys and letting the younger guys really made a difference because this defense actually looks like something resembling an nfl defense

I'm not going out of my way to defend Hill. We are basically arguing between him being the worst player in the league vs being a serviceable depth player. He was not good in 2020, but he did show flashes of being able to be disruptive in the backfield. He took an major step forward from 2019 to 2020, and being only 22 years old, he could still get better. Still "better" is probably being league average.

So sick and tired of the word decent. It means nothing. Hill was terrible. Look it up, he was the worst rated dt in the nfl. Something like 119th rated.

Hill showed flashes. If gallimore can continue to developer you’ve got a very solid 3T rotation for 2021. Still have to address the other DT spot.

Gallimore plays run/pass, Hill pass, Woods run. We need more than that, but that's not a horrible rotation. Spend a 1st or 2nd on another DT.

We should scrounge PS DTs til the end of the year and churn churn churn.

I don't need to see Crawford on the field ever again. Don't care that they didn't block him on FGs. Bye.

No he didn’t. There was no major step forward. There nowhere to be found, and then a citing. That’s it.

very excited about this kid.
liked him at Ou.
he's gonna be a good'n.

Gallimore simply dominated at the Senior Bowl weekend - practice one on one drill reports had opposing players having a difficult time blocking him..
i said it before that i was surprised that one with his awesome NFL combine numbers and Senior Bowl raves, felled to the
3rd round .i'm hoping he develops into ATL Grady Jarrett.like player.

..but if not the injuries to McCoy and Hill, ..and the release of Poe, Gallimore would be getting very little reps in games ..or he'd be game inactive.
Old school dinosaurs liek DL coach Jim Tomsula have those kind of odd set in the ways traits.

- But at least Tomsula had sense enough to see Gallimore is a much more explosive and athletic player than what A. Woods is.
And inserted him in starting lineup as such. Ditto with Trysten Hill.
Tomsula didn't force fit Crawford in the startling lineup becuz manangement loved his rah rah locker room leadership.

He didn't shy away from Randy Gregory either. despite missing all camp and an whole month, Randy is already hitting the ground running and
making his presence felt, He's already been in the opposing background. (damn you Goodell ! )

Now if Tomsula could only wake the hellll up on Bradlee Anae now ..and get him serious reps and snaps ..!

What I cannot comprehend is how he wasn't playing more.

Rookie with no OTAs and not much of a camp. Just not ready. Been pretty bleh til today.

Maybe Nolan has adapted the scheme as well? Shocking that they have their best game against the Steelers. Some players coming back, some addition by subtraction, but Nolan should get some credit for such a big flip across the board, as he should have gotten blame for the putrid play earlier this year.

i have no qualms about a Stubblefield/Jeff Bryant duo .. and Bucs had no qualms about drafting two high DTs such as Sapp, Booger.
or Hampton, McMichael , etc. however you can formalize it

Which ever is the strongest and can handle the 1 tech, and i have the kind of coach that lets their 1 tech rush as well.
i'm for playing and inserting my best players. i just need the coaches that know how to scheme/design to do so.

Because he didn't play near this good prior to this game. Light may have turned on.

Yeah we could always see the energy he brought even in limited action but too often he was just running around like the proverbial chicken with his head cut off. Today he seemed to have a plan.. a good plan.. Can't want to see what the DT rotation looks like with him, Hill and our first round pick from next year ;-)

Gilmore is a star . Should be a starter , period .

Who knows, maybe he will be. I thought the guy showed some pretty good stuff for having no more experience than he's had. Not to mention he was up against an undefeated Steeler team.

They base those on his playing time as well. He showed flashes when he was on the field, and the line got even worse after he went down. How much time has he played to show you how good he is. He is a KID playing MANS position. give time bro.
