The Good: The Cowboys showed up today and should have won that game! Gilbert was a pleasant surprise and he looked like he knew what he was doing especially at the line of scrimmage where he made a few adjustments not an easy thing to do in your first start. The Cowboys defense played pretty well once again forcing plenty of punts and they should have sealed the deal with a fumble recovery but so much for that. This was the best special teams we've seen in a long time by the Cowboys, a blocked extra point (there could have been other blocks as well) great run backs by Dowdle and Goodwin, and Zurlien made all his kicks.

The Bad: WAY WAY WAY too many field goals! The old saying goes the more field goals you kick the closer you are to losing. The Cowboys offense just doesn't score touchdowns. Their red zone offense has been horrible since Dak went down and the penalties my God they're killing this team. Two more turnovers and unable to force any (should have had one). Really bad decision by Gilbert to throw that ball into the endzone only to have it picked.

The Ugly: Too many times the offensive line got dominated and yes the Steelers have a very good defense but they were able to get to Gilbert and put a lot of pressure on him with only their front four. Connor Williams got man handled on too many plays.

The Extremely Embarrassing: Actually I mean Extremely disgusting! These NFL officials are so bad they should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves! They basically took the game right out of the Cowboys hands and they did everything they could to get the Steelers a win yesterday. How is it possible that you call that many ticky-tack penalties against one team?

In fairness with regards the officials, there were two DPI calls that weren’t called against us which were both blatant as you like.
They were inept on calls against both sides.

I agree, that probably happens in most games that there are missed calls but having them throw that many flags that influenced huge points of the game felt a little overkill.

Like if your going to give Ben that call for Jaylon getting a hand on his face mask, then on our final drive you gotta throw it when Gilbert gets hit in the face. They didn't talk about it and there was no replay but on our final drive I saw him get hit across the face. It wasn't horribly bad but you gotta call that fair even if one guy is a 4th string qb.

Otherwise, I agree calls get missed all the time for both teams.

Good assessment. About the FGs, I was thinking the same thing as they were kicking them. The 4th and inches FG WAS An absolute mistake. They should have gone for it. What did they have to lose.

As for the refs, they did call some cheap penalties against Dallas. The illegal contact call on Jaylon was really ticky tack. First, It was barely past 5 yards. Then it looked like Claypool ran into him and then fell down. I have seen a lot worse. But when a player hits the ground the refs will always throw a flag. Most of the time I don't think they see the play, they just see the guy on the ground and assume something happened.

I think if Diggs didn't get hurt this game may have turned out differently. It was clear the Steelers picked on his practice squad replacement and it was also clear he is a terrible CB. After Ben got hurt, the Steelers went to a lot of quick passes. They hardly ran the ball at all. I was disappointed the Cowboys did not tighten up the coverage and force him to stand in the pocket. I don't think he could move

well while ill agree with your post you do realize expecting more Tds from our 4th QB and basically our Backup OL is bit too much..

the bad was the INT by Gilbert and the lamb fumble TOS are the bad and the ugly, if they didnt happen we win that game by 10 IMHO...the offensive TOS this season have been the worst issue, i get the defense was horrible for long while but games were winnable and those TOs by the offense led directly to game changing ,momentum, point stealing, and losses..

the ref while horrible would have had the power to effect the game had it not been for the Turnovers..period

its been like this since game 2 and hasn't stopped,..betting we still lead the league in Turnovers or close to it..
